The gutter cleaning service was great: affordable, quality work, professional -- everything I was hoping for. At first I was uncertain because I wasn't aware Universal Windows Direct Pittsburgh performed gutter cleaning, but I saw an ad on Facebook for a promotion they were having (they explained it's a fairly new service they were offering, hence the promotions). So I called and made an appointment and they had availability for later that week, which was perfect because I needed the gutters cleaned ASAP. The serviceman was due to arrive between 9:00 - 10:00, and he showed up a few minutes shy of that timeframe which was fine with me. I was happy he was on time because I've had bad experiences in the past with a particular internet service company. When it came to the work, the guy was professional and I could tell he knew what he was doing -- definitely not just some shmuck picked off the street for the day. Within a little over an hour all the gutters on my home (fairly large, 2 story) were completely cleaned out. He also removed a bunch of unsightly vines growing up the side of the house which I didn't even request but was very happy he did. They discarded the gutter junk in bags in the trashcans at the curb, without leaving any mess whatsoever. Last, he got to work on replacing the downspout which didn't take long and was a pretty cut and dry job. Didn't leave any scrap materials or trash around the worksite which I was glad to see. Overall, this company did exemplary on this particular job. Within the next year or so, I plan on contacting them again to replace a few windows in the front of the house, too. Would certainly recommend to friends and family.

The installers were punctual. The windows look great, and they cleaned up when they were done. Time-frame given was approx 4-6 weeks for ordering, although they cautioned that it was busier in the summer months. The windows came in at almost exactly 6 weeks and were installed the very next week.

I'm very very happy with the new door. Everyone was very professional… The sales person/estimator, Bob, was very low-key and low pressure. He showed me and explained an overwhelming number of options. The installer, Ed, when he came to measure, told me exactly what he was going to do and what to expect. The door is beautiful, and totally exceeds my expectations! Chris, the installation manager, stopped by during the installation to make sure that everything was going well. They even fixed that missing piece of molding for cost only. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend them.

Doors with windows were seleted and ordered. We changed our mind midway through the project on one of the doors, so it took a bit longer than we had hoped to get the doors we ultimately wanted; however, the result was well worth the wait. We are very happy with the selection provided (exactly what we wanted), installation (very professional), and service (we had one after-installation service all that was responded to the next day!). Universal Windows provided exceptional swervice.

My overall experience was great. Once I visited the Showroom, there was an onsite estimate, final measuring, and installation. All were timely, punctual, and professional. The only reason I gave quality a B is that I believe these to be mid-quality windows. That being said, I believe the value is very high, and I'm very happy with the overall experience. The only issue I had was access to the Showroom. On my first attempt to visit, the Showroom was not open, though it was during the posted times. Since this is a smaller operation, someone being ill meant the showroom wasn't open. If you want to visit the showroom, I'd suggest calling ahead.

When I purchased my new house, I knew that the windows were in poor shape and that I needed to have them addressed. I solicited several bids from highly-referred installers. All of the prices came in around the same (give or take 10%). All of the salespeople were affable and informed, so it was difficult to make an informed decision--I'm a handy guy, but I don't know much about window installation. I'm sure many customers are faced with this same dilemma and are at a loss in how to decide. Let me spare you some agony: go with Universal Windows. Whereas the sales-pitch process was fairly uneventful, the installation process was anything but. The installer I had (Darrin) was superior in both his knowledge and execution. He communicated with me in advance of arriving (at my request, as I don't yet live in the house) and was always on time. The windows I had were in horrible shape (and did a disservice to the building itself and the neighborhood in general), so naturally the ones I purchased were an improvement. But *how* a window is installed--is it level and plumb? is it secure? is it properly insulated? is the aluminum flashing done cleanly? is the caulking neat and watertight? This is the Universal Window difference: the installer (who inherited a disaster) pulled everything out, tidied the opening, installed everything the way it should be, and left the exterior downright gorgeous. He approached the job not only as a craftsman (which he is, and of the highest caliber) but as an artist. Each window installed properly was an article of pride for him, not 'just a job.' He could have provided an 'average' installation--shoved it in there and slapped up some trim--and it still would have been a dramatic improvement, and perhaps I would have been none-the-wiser. But, while subtracting none of his frightful efficiency, he explained to me what was going on; he taught me how the windows I was having removed were poorly installed and of inferior quality, and what he was doing with the new ones to ensure they will outlast the 'Lifetime Warranty' (provided by Universal). He was both professional and passionate about his work and I am lucky to have chosen Universal in order to get such a high-quality installation (and receive an education on the proper techniques for doing so). I highly recommend Universal for anyone thinking of doing a window installation.

The installation, with one minor exception, went absolutely seamlessly! The only exception was one window was ordered incorrectly and had to be re-ordered, but will be able to be installed very soon. The remaining windows were installed in roughly half the time estimated! Everything was handled quickly, professionally, and the new windows look and function excellently! We have been thrilled about the process and especially about the installation.

After researching and talking with 6 different window companies, we decided to go with Universal Windows Direct because we were very impressed with the presentation that Chris made for us. He made us feel like we would be getting a good quality product at a decent price, there was no bashing of other companies to try to win our business, he just presented us with the facts, a fair price and left us well informed. We also liked the fact that we were buying local and that they do not sub-contract their installers. The installation team was the best. Sam, Matt, and the other guys were very professional, and courteous. Although we did hit several snags along the way and the process took a bit longer than expected, every single issue was taken care of in a timely and professional manner. We were also impressed with the way that Chris saw the job through at the beginning, middle and end. Great team, great product, great company! We are very happy with our windows. I would not hesitate to use this company in the future.

Before the installers came I moved all objects away from the windows and when installers Sam and Matt arrived on time at 8:30am they got right to work and were done by 1pm. They took care of all the materials they removed from the house as well as moved back heavy furniture that I had moved prior to their arrival. I could not believe the difference that these windows made. Unlike my usual restless sleep from the noises outside, I slept like a baby. The whole second floor of our house feels like it has been sound proofed! Every penny was worth it.

Sales representative was great..spent time, answered all of our questions and quoted a fair price. Installation crew was outstanding. They worked efficiently and in a timely manner. Our house was left in an excellent condition and we are extremely happy. We would recommend this company to friends and family.

Great company to work with. Other bids for the job included using a 7 ft. door and extensive framing to fill in the custom size and this company was able to cut a custom sliding glass door for a similar price than other bids. The wait time for the door was understandably several weeks, but upon delivery they scheduled installation and completed it in a timely manner. The handle/lock was slightly defective and had a loose feel initially, and when I called, they ordered a new handle and replaced it, free of charge within a week. Highly recommend.

Perfectly. Arrived promptly. The multiple crew members got to work immediately and finished the job in excellent time. Even wiped any fingerprints off of siding that were left during their work.

Chris McLaughlin came to our house when promised and provided an estimate that was a few hundred dollars below 3 other estimates that we had already received. The work was done quickly and in the promised time frame. The workers hauled away all old materials and made the yard look great. The workers were curtious and efficient.

It was an excellent experience as I called them to install windows and siding for my mother's house. They were very knowledgeable (I use to work construction) and did an excellent job with installation. They kept in touch with me and kept me up to date at all times when they would be out there and even when bad weather prevented them from coming out. I thought the price was excellent for all the work they did and I was really happy with the work. Best of all they made my mother really happy and showed a lot of respect for her home.
