Adler Tree Service

Tree Service, Excavating

About us

Adler tree service was founded in 1978 by William (Bill) Adler. Bill built the "1-man" company by providing great service at a great price with a personal touch. That is still true today. Although larger and able to provide a wider range of services, we at adler tree still focus on the "personal touch" when working with our customers. Our pricing structure and capabilities enable us to really mean "no tree too big and no job too small." The majority of our work comes from repeat customers that include: airports; golf courses; municipalities; penndot and a host of homes though out western pennsylvania. Repeat business in the tree industry is hard to accomplish as many of our customers only need us once every few years. We work very hard to do a great job that you will remember us for the next time you need tree work performed. Because of our skilled workers and equipment, we conduct some of the most technically difficult and dangerous tree work in the area. At the same time, we're also there to prune Ms. Maggie's trees in the fall. In all cases, our dedicated workers will perform the job safely and clean-up the job site when we are done. We have a certified arborist on staff and will be happy to provide you with a free estimate for completing your work. We look forward to the opportunity to reach new customers and will happily provide you with references to gain your confidence in our company's ability to do your work.

Description of Work: My neighbor across the street used them for two days to remove trees and branches from backyard and I'm guessing side yard. They had the really big heavy truck that has the two big square support beams on each side. Last evening I saw something all over the front lawn and sidewalk and driveway , they were small wood pieces. Remember now, I do live ACROSS the street. After day 1, total disregard for my property. Day 2, after work, I go out and notice divots in my sidewalk strip of grass and looks a very heavy piece of equipment was parked there. In fact, there's a black tire mark on the sidewalk and almost in the yard. I called to one of the workers, and he said yeah they drove through there and he toldthe guy to watch because he was about to go through the yard and I told him there were sprinkler heads in the ground. He said all that will come back, must be magic! Who is filling in the divots with dirt and the other dirt areas? I had to ask if he would have someone blow the wood chips from my driveway and yard. When you are on a work job, I'm sure you are careful on that property but let's not forget the neighbors property.

Very impressive. Returned calls promptly; worked with my schedule to arrange work date. Showed up on time with huge crane, trucks, grinder. Parked on street so lawn or other trees not disturbed. Nice crew - hard workers. Cleaned up AND gave me a heads up that I needed to tar a few places on the garage roof (thank you!).

I had a good experience with them. They were pretty prompt. They pretty much went out of their way to make sure everything was okay for us. They did it in the time frame that we had to have this done, before a graduation party. It was a $400 for the trees and a $150 for the stump removal. A person showed up in a work truck and looked at the stuff that I needed done. I told him I knew it was a spur of the moment, so if he had the time it would be great and if he didn’t I would understand completely. I just had under a week to get all this done and he said he would probably set something up if he could for the beginning of the following week. The end of the week that he was there to see me, some of them actually showed up as they were in the area, they were five guys and in fifteen minutes the trees were gone. Compared to other places, the price was excellent but I only called a couple of places and nobody was as fast as they were. They are pretty much running just about the same price in this area. The trees were alongside my house, where the mulch and everything was and they came in cut the trees down and cleaned up as much as stuff as they could to get out of there. They were over-sized evergreen trees that were about twelve to fifteen feet high and they cut everything down, chopped them up in my driveway, fed them up in a shredder, and cleaned up the area they worked in. When they said that they were going to have somebody come out for the stumps, all they asked me to do was to rake the mulch back and pull the plastic barrier, so that I have nothing but bare ground and the stumps. They told me that a guy would come back with a machine and would grind them down to the ground level and then I could have the material and the mulch laid back down. It was simple; they came out and did what they were supposed to do. The guy even did some extra work for me while he was here. There were some stumps in the backyard and he had the equipment so I asked him if he could take two more down for me. I gave him a tip on the side, he went over the back, and the stumps were gone. Overall their responsiveness in coming out and getting everything done went well but I did have a recent disappointment and it was while dealing with the office. We had confusion on the billing, they send out a paper bill of $400, my wife got the bill, and she made the payment. For some reason everything was put down on two separate bills, so she saw bill and thought that was what was supposed to be paid and I didn’t get with her with the price that was on it. Apparently, they send out a $400 bill for the bushes and a $150 bill for the stumps. I don’t know why that happened when they all work together but it was confusion. I got a phone call from them while I was in vacation telling me that there was an outstanding bill for $150 and apologized for bothering me on vacation. I contacted them asked them to send me the copy of the $150 and I would send them the payment. They told me they would send it out to me but I don’t hear from them for a couple of months and I even left a couple of messages. I talked to the same girl in billing, Rochelle and she said she emailed it to me. One point of time she got short with me, which aggravated me and I kind of barked at her. I got an email, I looked at it and I knew what had happened, they misspelled my last name and they misspelled my email address that I gave them. So obviously, I didn’t get it, it would have been a lot less headache if they would have send me the copy of the bill via post. That was the only problem I had with them.

Everything went fine. When I called & left a message they called back. They came out & looked at the trees. He followed my instructions to wait until after the first frost to trim the Pin Oak. They were timely. They didn't trim my arborvitae quite enough. When I called about it, Dominic said he wanted to make sure his customers were happy and told me next time they were out my way they'd trim some more.

They were good in giving the estimate. They were a little pricey than the other companies and that is the reason I didn't go with them. The guy who came for the estimate was great and was very nice. I had no complications with them. They were excellent. They do good work, but they were very expensive.

We had a giant oak tree in our front yard. It was so large that you couldn't even see our house behind it. We decided to get it removed. When we were pricing the job - many of the other tree services would schedule an appointment for an estimate and not show or call. Adler was very professional and the job they did was superb! They removed the tree in one day and cleaned up very well. With the exception of the giant tree being removed - I wouldn't have enven known they were there....fantastic work!

Everything went great, crew was on time. They used a 75' crane to delicately bring down 3 trees, without damage to the yard or landscaping. Its like the trees just disappeared, they used the right tools, and had a GREAT crew.

The first time I used Adlers,Dominick, was arborist. All meetings went well, he was on time, phone calls were returned within one day, and workers were EXCELLENT in caring for my property, performing clean up, hauling debris, etc. I have no idea what the problem is this year with Mark. I am on day 12 and still no call to schedule appt for work to be done. I will call him back one more time and if no return call from him I will call main office. I am only going through this hassle due to very neat job done by actual workers when I first hired this company.
Description of Work: Planning to have Adlers cut several trees down, remove several brush piles, chip and haul all. Have not actually had this work down yet as "Mark" the arborist who came to property to meet with me, provide estimate, and mark trees to be cut is now 12 days late in calling to schedule the date for work to be done. I have used Adlers in past and dealt with arborist "Dominick"; did not have any problems with unreturned phone calls or failure to even schedule work with him.

After my initial call, Adler Tree Service promptly sent out their representative (Aborist), Dominic Migliozzi. Dominic was pleasant and knowledgeable. He explained that the dead tree was too dangerous to climb, and so he recommended they use a crane. Because of the tree location and its precarious position, he really felt that their was no other solution. He wrote up an estimate, gave me a time period, and handed me his card. He was very professional. I discussed the project and price with my husband, and we agreed to give Adler Tree Service a try. They got right back to us with a date and time. Today they arrived exactly at the quoted time. What an amazing job! The tree was very hard to get at, and very dangerous. They worked so hard! The whole job, including clean-up, only took about two hours. We couldn't have been more pleased. They're the best tree service we've ever used, and we will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We had a giant, dead elm tree on the edge of our woods that was leaning toward our garage. Three workmen from Adler Tree Service cut the entire tree down. It involved using a very large truck and crane in order to lift the branches up and over other trees to a safe, open space for cutting. One highly skilled man hung from the crane while he attached the limbs to the cable, and then he made the cuts. Another man worked the crane from below. The third man helped guide the dangling limbs to the ground and then sawed them into smaller pieces. All limbs and debris were shredded and/or placed onto the truck to be hauled away.

Quickly sent someone to give a free estimate. Work was done well. I don't have a good comparison for price; it seemed somewhat expensive but it was well-done and the most important removal part was done within 2 days.

INSTEAD OF THE SALES REP CONTACTING ME, THE OWNER, DAN ADLER PHONED. HE APOLOGIZED FOR MY EXPERIENCE, AND OFFERED TO RETURN TO PROPERLY PRUNE THE PIN OAK, AND BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LATE TO STAKE THE TREE, HE TOLD ME HE WOULD GIVE ME ANOTHER SERVICE IN PLACE OF IT. (I HAD ANOTHER TREE TRIMMED.) DAN ALSO TOLD ME HE WOULD PERSONALLY SUPERVISE THE RETURN VISIT IF I WISHED. I DID NOT REQUEST HIM TO COME, BUT REALLY DID APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT HE CARED ENOUGH TO MAKE THE SITUATION RIGHT. I NOW HAVE A HIGH OPINION OF HIS COMPANY.
Description of Work: THIS IS A UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REPORT. I DECIDED TO WRITE ADLER ABOUT MY DISAPPOINTMENT OVER A POOR CLEAN UP, A TREE STAKING THAT WAS OMITTED AND A PIN OAK THAT I HAD PAID TO BE TRIMMED THAT HAD ONLY A FEW BRANCHES REMOVED. IMPORTANT NOTE: THERE WAS NO CHARGE FOR THIS RETURN VISIT, BUT THE FIELD WOULD NOT ACCEPT ZEROS.
