We called Opal due to the excellent reviews from Angie's List. They came down for an estimate. They were on time, punctual, professional and easy to talk to. The estimate was a good fair price. The lights were installed to our satisfaction. They did a great job. We since used them for another small job - again to our satisfaction. And I'm calling them today to have the smoke detectors replaced in our home. It's nice to find an electrician that we can rely on!! Quality work, reasonable prices and easy to work with. You can't beat that!!

I contacted Opal Electric Services for replacement of an electric clothes dryer outlet. The owner, Ed Wood, returned my phone call within a few hours and arranged to come to my home the next day. Ed is very professional, personable and honest. After he completed the work on the outlet we spoke about other work I need done. He was able to stay and complete several tasks. I also arranged for him to return with additional parts and do more work.

Opal Electric Services offered more than any other generator installer, at any price. From beginning to end, Ed Wood was on top of every aspect of the job, to include the work that had to be subcontracted (masonry, plumbing and generator start up and testing) and dealing with permits and inspections. Ed's work and the work done by the subcontractors (all chosen by Ed) was top notch. Ed answered all of my questions and was always courteous. At no time did I feel that I was being pressured or taken advantage of. Working with Ed and Opal Electric Services was the most pleasant experience I have ever had with a contractor in New Jersey, and that's after almost 22 years as a home owner!

Opal was very courteous and helpful when they came over to give me the estimate. He had prepared a list of products for me to consider. Gave me a list of options and all the pros and cons of each. His prices were reasonable and he was flexible in his repairs even turning down projects he said that I could do to save money which I took advantage of. Opal and all the subcontractors were prompt when it came time to do work. All the subcontractors hired by Opal were well coordinated by Opal and were professional when doing their work. As a result of the fine work done, the Generator and Panel passed on inspections with no hitches. I am very pleased with the results. I have already recommended Opal to a friend and will call them again when needed.

When I called Opal for the generator a couple of years ago he really took his time and carefully wired and checked everything each step of the way. Since then Opal takes their time and does the job right.

I picked everything out and they put it in. It really didn’t take them that long to put in, may be a week. I found out about them through a contractor. I would never pick another electrician ever. These guys are spotless. Not a figure print on the ceiling and they sweep up when they are done. It is amazing. The owner of Opal Electric Services is local. I run into him in Walgreens, the Chinese food place and the grocery store. That is nice too. They were spotless, they did everything exactly the way I wanted it. I even got my light switches exactly where I wanted them in the new kitchen. They told me I was going to end up putting in too much recess lighting and I didn’t need all that. It turned that they were right. I was very glad about that. My husband bought the fan and put it in but we needed the whole thing wired because there was no electricity upstairs. It really was a great thing.

Repair completed on time the day after we first called.

Opal returned my call in just an hour or so. We made an appointment for Monday, but they had said that they might even be able to come on Saturday if they finished another job early enough. They actually did come on Saturday and finished the job for me in no time at all.

We were very pleased with the work they completed. And they were very responsive when my husband called with a follow up question. Eddie also gave us a list of other types of contractors that he recommended which we appreciated since we are new to the area. We would not hesitate to contact them again next time we need an electrician!

Ed Wood responded the same day I emailed and came out for an estimate (actually looked at work to be done, as opposed to guess-timating). Gave a good price and had work done within 2 days. Was punctual, neat, very communicative, and did a great job installing an exterior light. Would definately use again : ).

I contacted Opal Electric to provide an estimate for electrical hookup of a hot tub, and Ed called me back the same day. We set an appointment and he came right on time. The next day he sent me the estimate. While I was getting other quotes, Ed contacted me to make sure I received the estimate and to ask if I had any questions. I did have a couple and he answered them promptly. After I decided to hire him, Ed went to the township to submit the permit application - he had done his own research on my particular hot tub model in order to fill out the paper work. On the scheduled work date, Ed and Chris showed up right on time. They did a great job on the wiring, cleaned up after themselves, and even helped me move the hot tub to its final position. I would not hesitate to use them again, and in fact, I've already asked him for an estimate on some additional work. I highly recommend Opal Electric.

Ed did a great job - he was available when we needed him, showed up on time, and charged us a reasonable price for the work done. He is honest and I would use him again for our next electrical job.

We've used this company for two different jobs, and both times were very pleased with their work. I anticipate more electrical work to be done in my home and will definitely use Opal Electric. We've also recommended them to friends and neighbors.

Owner Ed Wood provided exceptional service leading up to performing the work. He gave a thorough explanation of the work when doing the estimate, and responded within one day to a number of emails prior to our accepting the estimate. The price was lower than other estimates received. Ed and his brother performed the work in an efficient manner, and, as far as I can tell, did good work. They tested the transfer panel by starting the generator, and spent a few minutes getting the generator to run properly.

My call returned the next day. Ed & Chris were extremely professional. Price was very reasonable. Clean-up was top notch. They went above and beyond what was agreed upon. They actually fixed an outside dangling phone line and attached it to my house. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future. AAA+++

We received a reasonable estimate and went ahead with the work. Between getting the estimate and starting the work we made some changes to the plan, primarily involving extra work. Opal only increased the cost by a modest amount. They did the work on schedule - they were in and out in a day. The work was done to a very good standard and we are very satisfied with there work. We will definitely use them again if we need more electrical work.

Opal Electric (Ed Wood) came in and inspected all of the units and was able to determine that one of the units in the basement was bad. Ed ran out, bought a replacement unit and intalled it right away. They did a great job at a reasonable price.

Ed was very plesant and professional from the time he answered my telephone call to completion of the job and leaving my home. Although this was a small job, I would not hesitate to call Opal Electric again for any electrical work in my home.

This service (two different jobs) he provided was very good. Ed Wood (the electrician) was very professional, arrived on time, and was very efficient. The first time, he came to repair a dead electric socket in the garage; while there, he discovered that the people who built our house had connected it to the bathroom electrical circuit (!). So he quickly repaired it, but since that outlet was not capable of handling the load it was likely to experience it, set up a second appointment to install a new circuit about a week later. All of the work was completed to what appears to be a very high standard of quality. Mr. Wood was very knowledgable and professional, and was concerned about ensuring that the whole problem was well solved. We subsequently had him do a smaller job (installing some Ethernet cable) which was also well done. I will use his services again the next time I need an electrician and I would give him a strongly favorable recommendation.

After checking with Angies List, I contacted Ed Wood (owner). He came to my home the next day to review the project. He provide me a quotation via e-mail the following day and performed the work as promised the following week. His work appears to be excellent and the property was cleaned before he left. I plan upon using him again for other electical projects and strongly recommend him.
