My elderly mother-in-law recently had a heart attack and was no longer going to be able to reside by herself, and in fact has since passed away. We wanted to use a cleaning service to clean her apartment for inspection preparation by the housing authority as required when vacating. Based on Angie's list ratings, Merry Maids was selected. They were called and an appointment day and time set. The appointment time was set for 9:15 AM. I was early and sat waiting for them. At 9:30 they had not arrived, so they were called. According to the very unpleasant representative, they couldn't make the appointment time and would be 1 to 1.5 hrs late. The belligerent rep said they called just before the appointment time to inform us of that and that a message was left. The rep was informed that no such message was received and they had agreed to an appointment time and had 10 min to arrive, to which she responded that was impossible, so they were cancelled. No phone call was received and no message was left on either of the numbers given as she claimed. Having a set appointment and then not making it is unacceptable, but then claiming to have called near the appointment time leaving a message when no such action occurred, takes away any credibility for this company. And to treat a customer as this rep, just adds insult to injury. Not only was she belligerent and rude, she claimed that we were wrong and had the wrong appointment time. Funny, why would she be calling to push to time back an hr to an hr and a half if we had the wrong time in the first place. To charge $100 per hr for cleaning services in the first place is ridiculous, and something I would not ordinarily spend, but given the circumstances we were willing to do so this time. In light of this experience, in my opinion, Merry Maids is a disreputable, undependable company with rude and untrustworthy employees.

There was nothing I could do but call and report it to the police. That too was a disaster because this crime went to the bottom of the list due to the more serious, life threatening crimes that they needed to take care of. Six weeks would go by and I wouldn't hear anything. PFC Phillips was the cop's name. He even told Merry Maids, if they returned the items I would not press charges. Of course they denied everything. The owner is very slick and she sent different people here each time so there was no one or two people to identify. They stole at least $16,000 worth of jewelry. They didn't care that I worked 24 hours a day, 7days a week and the jewelry was my trophy to show at one point in time I was successful. You also might also want to consider, if they stole once, they will do it again. What about the people they are robbing now? You are giving they a good reference. If something happens, it will be your neck

No complaints. Everything very clean.

They moved things, got on top of things and cleaned it. They came in promptly and did an excellent job. They were very professional.
