+ -1 moreThey were instrumental in locating the break, which was a very difficult task given its location. The leal was eventually fixed. Crouthamel's employees also increased the insulation surrounding the problem area.
Description of Work: The severe winter weather froze several of my water pipes. After calling Bob Crouthamel, his team was at our residence at 07:30 the next day.

+ -1 moreI have a two door garage, with no access door to it except the two garage doors. In the winter that is bad news, opening the large garage doors wastes a lot of the warm air in the garage. Mr Crouthamel provided me with an estimate to place a door next to my two garage doors. His workmen had to cut the brick to open up the wall where the new door would be. They not only saved the brick still usable, but also removed most of the mortar on each brick. The carpenter finished the job by framing the opening, and all that was needed to put or install the new door. Installation included both a lock and a deadbolt, the door was painted the following day. Finished job is professional, it is a joy to exit the house through the newly installed door. Final bill was as estimated, even though additional expenses were incurred. Would definitely recommend.

+ 1 moreWe've used Bob Crouthamel for all home renovations over the years, from new windows to kitchen and bathroom renovations to a large addition, to a finished basement. Work is well done and if something isn't quite right to your liking, he'll work to get it redone. He's good about not starting work until all materials have arrived which lessens the time you have your house worked on.
Description of Work: Breakfast/sunroom addition, kitchen island installation,deck adjustments at accommodate sun room and master bath remodel withall associated plumbing,electrical, painting, flooring, tile, etc.

Everything from new windows and roof, to adding an large addition to renovating bathrooms and finishing our basement into a recreation room. All projects have gone well. Bob doesn't begin the work until he has all the supplies and equipment on hand to complete the job. So you don't have to live with a torn up house for any longer than necessary. His staff has always been professional when working on our home. And the staff has been with him for years which speaks well of Bob as a supervisor/contractor.
Description of Work: Crouthamel Construction added a room to our kitchen for a breakfast nook and an island in the kitchen for cabinet space and food preparation.

Description of Work: My wife and I retired from the military, were living in NC, and had a house built just north of Gettysburg, PA. I had the builders leave our 1300 sq/ft basement unfinished, as we wanted to customize it to our needs. I asked around Adams County, inquiring about builders/home improvement contractors. Bob Crouthamel's name kept coming up. I subsequently received quotes from several contractors to finish our basement. All were familiar with Bob's company, and warned me that he performed "high end" work, and that it would cost me more than their services. I called Bob last, and his quote came in much lower than the bids received by the other contractors. The final product (my "Man Cave") is superb. He also added a custom bathroom with shower, which is the talk of our friends. His tradesmen were excellent, and as much as I pestered them, they quickly became friends. When friends or family visit, no one wants to leave the basement! When I was in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, my biggest motivation to survive was to have a house in the country with a sports-themed basement. Bob Crouthamel and his team have built me a "Man Cave" which has greatly exceeded my dreams, and at a very reasonable cost. We're looking to build an outdoor addition off the basement, and Bob will receive our business...
