If I could give this company a 0 rating I would. This company was contracted to my elderly parents house through AHS warranty September 18 or 19 2024. The technician came out to check the cold water pipe in the shower. My dad was on hospice at the time and they were told it needed fixed ASAP. The technician said a part needed ordered. Once leaving they told AHS the ticket was complete. The cold water pipe trickled out. My mom called over and over and this company would not answer her calls or return her messages. Yet they would answer any time AHS called and would always say they were waiting on a part. It has now been 2 months and we still can not get a hold of this company and they still don’t return calls. They have already been paid through AHS. They have taken advantage of an elderly couple. And my dad had to take showers with hardly any water until he passed away

I told the technician (Vinny) from Nussbaumer plumbing that the problem was a new cartridge needed installed in the shower. He agreed but did not have the cartridge with him so had to go to Home Depot to get one which is fine. Then he comes back and doesn't have the tool to remove the cartridge and has to go back to the store to buy one. When he attempted to remove the old cartridge, he broke it inside the valve. At this point he said it was no longer the cartridge and we would need to cut an access panel to replace the entire faucet / valve. He then stated that he would follow up immediately with pricing and rescheduling. The way he left the house the water was still running in the shower and I had to take it apart myself to turn it off. What plumber leaves a situation worse than when they got there? After 5 days of not hearing back from them and no one returning my calls I had to call another plumbing company and after a short diagnosis he realized that when Vinny broke the previous cartridge pieces went up into the shower head and that was causing the low pressure. The new plumber was in and out of there in 20 minutes when Nussbaumer wanted to probably charge a fortune to open the wall and replace the whole thing which need not need done. I have literally never had a good experience with Nussbaumber plumbing.

March 24: I put in a request through my home warranty to address an issue with my shower March 27: Todd came to my home to look at my shower and told me he would need to order a new cartridge. 3 days from initial request April 10: I receive no word from Nussbaumer Plumbing and I begin calling the office twice per day. I am directed to voicemail during business hours, so I leave several messages and send an email. At one point I am put on hold, but I am never taken off hold. 17 days from initial request April 15: I finally get a hold of April, and she schedules me for April 29 between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. 22 days from initiaial request April 29: It’s 1:00 pm and Todd hasn’t shown up; I also haven’t received any communication about rescheduling or canceling. I call Nussbaumer Plumbing to get an update. April says that she hasn’t received the part and will need to order an entire new shower system. I ask her to confirm with me when she’s ordered the system so we can get a new appointment scheduled. April promises me she will call me by 4:00 pm that day. 36 days from initial request April 29, 4:00 pm: I receive no call. May 3: I call my home warranty to get a new plumber for this issue. They call Nussbaumer Plumbing and are put on hold and never taken off. 40 days from initial request May 8: I call my home warranty again to get a new plumber. They leave a message with Nussbaumer Plumbing’s office. 45 days from initial request. May 10: I call my home warranty a third time to get a new plumber. They call the office and talk to April. She says she will contact me to schedule an appointment either May 13 or May 14. 47 days from initial request. May 14: I have received no contact fram April. 51 days from initial request May 15: I schedule a new plumber outside of the home warranty and out of pocket 52 days from initial request I have been without access to my shower for 52 days. I understand that contractors are busy people with a lot to juggle; however I have given every opportunity for April and Todd to contact me. I have called constantly with no response. I have left messages with no callbacks. I have been promised communication and then been ignored. What’s worse is that they have indicated to the home warranty that the job is “complete,” meaning that they can’t assign me a new plumber until Todd and April change the status back to pending. Unfortunately nobody can seem to get a hold of them to do that. I encourage folks looking for competent and communicative contractors to look elsewhere, and I encourage Todd and April to scale back their operation so that they can give each customer the attention and communication they deserve. I hope they are able to put the money I gave them through my home warranty to use by helping someone more thoroughly than they helped me.

I bought a home warranty when we got a new house. I didn't know the ages of appliances and wanted some protection if things broke immediately. They sent me the worst plumber ever!! I have never had such a terrible customer service experience as I have had this week with Nussbaumer Plumbing . I have been yelled at, hung up on, called dumb and still do not have hot water. First plumber came Monday and "fixed" the problem. He was a nice kid at least but, Nope not fixed! Then different guys from the same company came back a second time Monday, then Wednesday, then yesterday and finally today. All of them said they fixed it and all of them left and I was still left with the choice of freezing shower, begging family to let me come to their house or just smelling kind of bad. Today's guy showed up and didn't even know he was supposed to have a water heater with him even though I put a deposit on it yesterday. (Warranty doesn't cover some of the stuff they said I have to have) Then he proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and he didn't have any paperwork. He called someone, I assume his office, then rolled his eyes and gave me a bunch of s*** about having to go back to the shop to get a water heater. Apparently it's my fault he wasn't prepared. After he came back, he did install the new water heater. He came upstairs when he was done but had not cleaned anything up and he asked to be paid. I said I would happily pay when I had hot water as I had been told by four different guys that it was fixed. He threatened me and said he was going to call the cops for theft if I didn't pay him right that second. Then he told me he'd just uninstall the water heater and I could have no water! I was feeling really uncomfortable and asked him to step outside while I called his office. He Refused! He Stood there all menacing saying he wasn't leaving without me paying him directly. I called the office and explained that this was the fifth plumber from this company who told me I'd have hot water and I told her I would happily pay over the phone but I wanted a guarantee that it was finally fixed! Is it asking too much to make sure it's fixed before I pay?? She made a snarky comment about how she talked to me earlier in the week to schedule and I "just work from home" so it really wasn't that big of a deal to not have hot water. Seriously?? I've still had to take vacation time to deal with this crap. I went ahead and gave her my credit card info so this threatening dude will leave my house and am really hoping that I have hot water shortly, but currently, that's still a big Nope. Is turning someone into the better business bureau a real thing? I have no idea what to do next. End rant. NEVER use these unprofessional a** hats

They were given us thru a HSA warranty. Should have not even came. Nothing covered. Seemed like they were more interested in how not to fix things. Maybe they would be better with paying customers. Seems like they wanted to do jobs that paid.

Nussbaumer Plumbing were assigned through my AHS Warranty Contract for a job that was done to unclog my 2nd floor vanity sink on 10/10/22. The 2 plumbers that was here - Bob/Jordan decided to recklessly dump the waste that they pulled from the vanity sink which even including metal parts and dumped them directly into my vintage toilet. (why would a plumber do that)? This thoughtless act of the plumbers resulted in not only clogging that vintage toilet, but my whole sewage line right into the basement bathroom toilet which also overflowed a day later. I called their offices at 4:46pm to discuss having someone come out to take care of it, since i now had no toilets NOT working in my home.. and when they heard what i said, someone hung the phone directly up on me in Their office. With no other recourse, i had to call another company - Rotor Rooter that thankfully were able to come out on short notice to not only repair the damage that Nussbaumer had done to my 2 toilets and sewer lines.. The team from Roto-Rooter worked tirelessly for at least 4 hrs to snake out and clear the sewer line but to unclog and save my vintage toilet that was jammed with dirt, waste and broken pipe pieces from the waste that was poured down there from the Nussbaumer plumbers, thankfully they were also able to snake and actually save the newer toilet downstairs as well. I had to pay a substantial amount of monies for their services - $660.30, plus tip to Roto Rooter company for their much needed services due to the negligence of the plumbers at Nussbaumer. I was happy to do it, cause i was treated fairly, and the work was well worth the price i had to pay to fix Nussbaumer’s mistakes. Almost makes you wonder if it was done with intent…I would not recommend this company to even change a lightbulb. Please steer clear of this company.

The gas company had already marked the elbows and connections that were leaking. During the estimate, they informed me that they would need to replace a rather long piece of pipe and it would be quite expensive to do. They told me payment would be half down to begin work and then half down at completion. Later, when I received a verbal estimate over the phone, I requested a written estimate emailed to me that was itemized so I could be aware of what I was paying for and scheduled the work. I never received it. The day they came to do the job, I requested the tech to walk me through again the scope of the job. He outlined the work, highlighting replacing the long section of pipe in order to put additional valves in, which he commented was the bulk of the estimated cost. I told him just to replace the connections indicated by the gas company and to not replace the longer pipe section. He informed me that the procedure was half down at beginning of work then the rest on completion, because the final cost depends on the parts needed and length of time. I then asked the price of the “air pressure test” - he told me to call the office. I called the office and they informed me that they could not provide an itemized estimate until work was done. I asked about the cost of the 10-minute pressure test, they again said they could not provide a cost. I was placed on hold. The tech’s phone rang - it was the owner of the company and I could hear him yelling through the phone even from upstairs as the tech explained the situation. I came downstairs to hear the owner yell “I don’t care what she says, she pays the full amount up front and it’s the high end of the estimate. Make it happen.” And then he hung up on the tech. As a single mom, I was distraught and didn’t know what to do. (Yes, I realize I should’ve told them to hit the road at this point but what’s past is past) so when the secretary picked up my phone line (I was on hold, remember), she informed me that I would need to pay the whole amount of the HIGH end of the estimate. I reminded her that the bulk of the estimated price was the longer pipe replacement and that we were not doing that today and that I was declining the air pressure test at this time and that if it didn’t hold per the gas company, I would pay a service fee to have them return to do the test. She said that she was unable to see how that affected the price at this time but would refund me as needed after the work was completed. I gave her my credit card number and she told me I would receive a payment receipt via email. Work began and lasted 2 hours. At which point, they said they had to start the pressure test - I again declined it. They said their work depended on the test and it wasn’t an option - that they’d have to rip out the repairs they’d already done and leave if I declined it. I felt trapped so I allowed it. The first test failed because the pressure gauge they placed on the system was leaking. The second test failed because the cap they had placed on the gas meter was leaking. The third test passed. I came downstairs to them replacing another connection which they said was “bad”, I declined this repair and asked them to stop. They told me they couldn’t leave until they fixed this. They offered me a written invoice showing work completed with the full price of the high end of the estimate. I told them that I had declined the pipe replacement that was to be the bulk of the repairs so that the final total should be significantly less. I refused to sign the written invoice and told them I would sign an itemized invoice, reflecting the correct total. He informed me the office would send an itemized invoice. Later, the office sends an invoice to my email that is “gas line repair” with the upper end of the estimate. I responded that I would like an itemized estimate with line items for labor and parts please and that it should reflect that the long pipe was not replaced. They emailed a receipt that showed labor cost and then a parts cost that was the rest of the high end of the estimated price. I responded again to remind them that we didn’t do all the work included in the estimate and have never received a response back.

Terrible company. My estimate was $800. They did 2/3 of the job and charged me the full amount. I called Bob, who did the job, and left several messages. He never called me back. I asked to speak to the owner, April. She said she would talk to Bob and get back to me by the next day. She didn't. I called and asked to speak to her again and she never returned my call. Horrible customer service. I will never be using them again.

On or about July 8, 2020, my home warranty company sent Nussbaumer Plumbing to repair a leak in my gas line. When their employee came to do the work, I asked if the entire line would need to be replaced, or whether they could thread a new line through the old one. The employee said that no matter what, they would have to replace the entire gas line. After the work was done, the guy from the gas company came to inspect the line. He pointed out to me that there had been an existing plastic pipe, and that the plumber could have threaded the new one through and saved me some money. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to a mistake. The total cost of the work was $4708.00. Fast forward to July 31, 2021, when a water line inside my house had sprung a leak. Once again, I tried to rely on my home warranty company, which was probably a mistake because once again they sent Nussbaumer Plumbing. The guy they sent looked at the location of the leak, and not at any of the other pipes in the house. His report to the home warranty company said that the leak was not due to normal wear and tear, which caused them to deny my claim for coverage. The pipe was old and had some corrosion, which to me is normal wear and tear. I believe that there is collusion between companies like this and home warranty companies, which I’ve realized are shady to begin with. The thing that was really egregious, however, was the quote that the plumber wrote. His assessment was that all the pipes in the house needed replaced, for a cost of $6500. I’m not a plumber, but I think it makes sense to look at all the pipes in the house (most were exposed) before making the decision to replace them. I tried to get an explanation as to the report sent to the home warranty company and the outlandish quote, but couldn’t get a call back. I had an old semi-retired plumber come out and take a look at the problem. He replaced about a 6-foot section of pipe where the leak was occurring. He took a look at the rest of the pipes and advised that none of them needed to be replaced. Total cost: $275. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice… nope, I wouldn’t hire these guys again.

Horrendous service. I was assigned to Nussbaumer Plumbing through my home warranty service. They came out twice to repair my toilet that wouldn't drain. The first time the toilet finally drained without them actually doing anything, so they left without snaking it or doing anything else to repair the problem. Three weeks later I had to call for exactly the same problem. The second time they told me they would have to pull the toilet and charge me $250 to do so. I told them I could pull it myself in five minutes (which I did). They were still sitting in my driveway when I told them the toilet was out, but they refused to do the work because they "didn't have time" and had already told the home warranty company they couldn't do the work. I had to call my home warranty company a THIRD time to reschedule a THIRD visit to repair the clog. Seriously, how many times will they come to my house to clear a clog? Not only is this frustrating for me, but they have to be wasting a ton of their own time and money by not making repairs when they come out...unless this is all a scam and they're just trying to jack up the price by charging ridiculous fees to do a task that takes literally five minutes. Oh...and while I was on hold with the secretary at the office, I started pulling the toilet. When she came back on the line, I told her I'd be done pulling the toilet in two more minutes and she accused me of LYING because I'd told her it would take five minutes at the start of the call. Clearly, three minutes passed while I was on hold with her. This was seriously some of the worst customer service I've ever had.

The two plumbers from Nussbaumer Plumbing came out for an issue with my hot water tank. I filed the claim due to not having any hot water. The first thing they did was place a gauge on a spigot and told me that my PRV failed which caused my T&P valve to fail and I needed to file an additional ticket to replace the PRV or it was a $280 part to replace outside of home warranty. I asked if they could try turning it down as it maybe was just set too high. They stated that would not work and it was not worth trying. I called and got an additional ticket opened through HSA for $100 for them to replace the PRV, which they did. They also stated that the T&P valve was not covered due to the PRV potentially causing the issue (which I could understand as that’s how home warranty works). They then tried to get me to install an expansion tank, which is not required in my area, and they wanted to replace the T&P valve. They told me the T&P valve would cost $140 ($15 part at Lowe’s) to replace and it would be $180 ($59 part at Lowe’s) to install an expansion tank (I understand that also includes hourly rate as they are a skilled trade but both are quick jobs that would take 20-25 mins to complete, per the techs). I asked if either part was needed to be replaced in order for the tank to start heating again and they said no, now that the PRV reduced the pressure it would begin working again but the T&P might leak. They “checked” the tank and stated everything had power and it would heat up in about 45-50 minutes and said they had to leave and wouldn’t wait to ensure it was heating. After 3 hours I still had no hot water. I called back and they stated that the claim was denied and they couldn’t replace it under home warranty but would come back out and replace the tank for $1100. I questioned the denial since they obviously misdiagnosed the problem and I still didn’t have hot water. I got a second opinion from another plumber through HSA and they found the issue within ten minutes. There was no power to the tank and when he pulled the panel on top of the tank, the wires and wire nuts were melted together and burned. Amazing how Nussbaumer stated two days prior that there was power to the tank and it was working correctly when that is impossible with the condition of the wiring. Also funny that the next plumber stated I didn’t need a new T&P valve as the piping was bone dry and not leaking. HSA should pull them as a vendor as they only attempt to upcharge their customers to make money outside of HSA and do not actually assess the problems. I have attached the photos of the burnt wires that the second plumber found and replaced, fixing the problem.

Well at first. Started te prior week with an AHS warranty call regarding slow draining tub and broken vanity sink drain stopper. Nussbaumer service technicians were polite, pleasant, friendly, and professional. Both tub clog and sink vanity w stopper repairs were taken care of fairly quickly. Technician reccomended that shower/tub faucet was leaking and should be replaced as well as present drain mechanism with Watco kit conversion. Technician suggested I call warranty service for service call regarding faucet replacement and drain conversion to check warranty coverage. I appreciated suggestion and reccomendations. Called AHS who did approve service check for faucet and tub drain. Second set of Nussbaumer technicians returned next week via AHS approval. These technicians were also polite and friendly guys. After removing the faucet and stem parts the problem was diagnosed as old and worn faucet stem and suggested replacement. All parts were then re-installed. Technician also suggested that I might want to consider hot and cold shut offs from the rear access door in the future. Head technician stated that replacement could be done via either rear or front but that access from rear would be more difficult. He stated that while AHS would likely pay for the faucet and related parts including a beauty plate if done front the tub side, additional work including modifying rear access would likely not be covered. Ok, fine. So later that evening wife attempted to rake a shower but could not turn the temperature regular handle pass the cold zone and neither could I. So no warm or hot water from either shower or tub faucet. Sent vm and email to Nussbaumer Plumbing that evening 11/4/20. No call back or text response that evening. In the mean time, AHS sends urgent text early am next morning asking me to call them asap. Call them at 8:45am to hear that they will authorize replacement stem/faucet parts but not charges related to access modifications needed - $480.00 or any other additional charges for repair or replacement of shower/tub faucet. $480.00 in charges would be out of my pocket. Ummm, ok what really. Ok. That's another issue. What about no hot water to tub and shower? Call Nussbaumer, explain situation and reference both service calls for tub/shower and no hot water after yesterday's service call. Told after much back and forth with phone receptionist and someone in background that one those are the charges. Ok. And the mo hot water problem- well "those things sometimes happen with old plumbing parts. Only thing that can be done is to replace the part and pay $480.00 out of pocket". "But faucet was just leaking and there was no problem with temperature regulator prior to service call and removal of oartsby your technician." Conversation in background. "Sir, as I said before the parts were old and sometimes this happens. The parts must be replaced and the cost to you is $480.00". Seriously...Ok. While high, I sorta get te access charge part, but to not take responsibility for leaving my family without hot water to the tub and shower which was not the initial problem to begin with, really. What responsible professional does this? I am not a plumber so I don't know it the technician did something wrong or not in replacing the part(s) after removing them, but I do find Nussbaumer Plumbing irresponsible, insensitive, and unprofessional in their response and decision not to restore hot water to my only tub/shower for a family of four. I will add that this is a company that I had used in the past for plumbing issues and would have likely used fir the faucet repair if not for their response. Based of this experience and any willingness to even send out a technician to see what possibly could be done to restore hot water forces me to rate Nussbaumer Plumbing with a F at least in customer relations. We were matched with Nussbaumer plumbing through our home warranty company. The first time was a year ago, when our water heater pilot light went out for good. The plumber came out without any of the tools to fix it, and when he couldn’t get it lit again, he said it was the gas control unit. He said it would take two weeks to get the part, unless we wanted to pay $85 extra for overnight. We paid the extra, but we were still a week without hot water before they installed the part. A different part of our water heater broke about a year later- this time it was the thermopile. I asked the dispatcher to make sure to tel the tech they needed to replace the thermopile. Again, tech showed up without the tools or the part to fix it, actually made the situation worse (some hot water -> NO hot water), and again charged us the $85 overnight fee. We still went a week without hot water. Third time was this past week. We’d noticed that we had a leaking pipe coming from our upstairs bathroom, and called the home warranty company. Despite my repeated requests, we got matched with Nussbaumer again. Techs came out, and completely misidentified the pipes in my basement. They claimed that my soil stack was coming in from outside the house, and that the break was probably freezing and our warranty wouldn’t cover it. The pipe they swore up and down was our soil stack was actually a disused roof drain that had been cemented shut. When I tried to correct them, they became rude and condescending. Even after I showed them where the roof drain had been cut off underneath the porch, they doubled down, and kept claiming that the pipes were connected somewhere. Maybe if there was a Klein bottle somewhere in those walls? But I doubt it. They said they’d call the home warranty company to get started. Signed the paperwork to get them out of my house. When I called the home warranty company to check, Nussbaumer had already reported the job to them as completed. I demanded a new contractor, and was told I’d have to pay another service fee. I decided it was worth the $75 to never have to deal with these clowns again. Oh yeah- and neither one of them wore their masks properly. It ain’t a chinstrap, folks.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! THE OWNER TOOK A CRAP IN MY BATHROOM AND DIDN'T HAVE THE DECENCY TO FLUSH THE TOILET. TALK ABOUT PLUMBING ISSUES!? I HAD TO REMOVE HIS USED TOILET PAPER, SO I COULD ACTUALLY FLUSH IT DOWN, RUNNING INTO HIS FECES. I WOULD NEVER, EVER USE THIS CLOWN IF I WERE YOU. I called his office, his secretary went on to say that he hasn't been feeling well, as if that's some sort of excuse for his actions. How would you feel!? AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

An absolute nightmare to work with. Got assigned them from an HSA claim. After they "fixed" the problem, they begged for a 5 star rating with a $50 drawing. My pipe problem persisted and they then wanted to charge my wifeb$3,500 on my credit card without me there. I got HSA involved they changed their story from it being an emergency repair to one that could go months or years without fixing. Shady company. Shame on you Todd and Bob. I'll make sure l post this on all of your social media sites

I didn't want to leave a negative review for a business because I believe every business should have the opportunity to resolve an issue when things don't go right with a customer, but based on the owner's responses and reactions when confronted with the problem and evidence, he has resolved to irresponsibly calling his customer a liar and someone just looking to randomly pick a fight to get a service for free, so I feel an obligation to put the truth out there for any other perspective customers of this business, so that you know what you're dealing with! I had a problem with my laundry drain backing up, so I called Nussbaumer's because of the favorable reviews I saw on the internet. The appointment was scheduled after the weekend, and the first sign of trouble should have been when the tech wasn't here even close to the time that I was given in the original appointment. I was given an update when the technician was on the road, for the record, which is better than no communication. The technician showed up with a helper and they asked to see where everything was and explain more about the problem. I showed them where the cleanout was in the laundry room, as well as the basement drain that was backing up on the floor. He visually looked at the drain and didn't look at it again. He decided the cleanout would be a better option because the drain had a thin layer of cement over the drain cover. He pulled the snake machine out of the van and wheeled it in to the cleanout in the laundry room. He put the snake in the cleanout, but before he snaked it, he realized that his machine would be too large/strong/long for the piping of the cleanout and aborted mission. After that, he started thinking about Plan C. His idea was to run piping over from the laundry basin to the stack 10ft away, and connect them into the stack. (There are two separate drain systems in our house, one for "gray water" which is laundry and cleaning chemical drain water, which drains through a gravel drain field, and the other drain system is the septic, which drains into a septic tank that was just cleaned out 4 months ago with a passing flow test, so no problems there. The technician called Todd on the phone to ask his "expert" advice, and Todd told him that the technician's plan C might be a good idea. The technician measured the distance for piping the laundry drain into the stack, and figured out a rough price with Todd over the phone, and told me it would be about $5,000-$6,000 to jackhammer the floor where the piping would go below the footer in the basement, and the wall would have to be taken out, and replaced. The technician also told me that it might be a good idea to get a drywall guy to do the new wall, otherwise I would be charged a "plumber's rate" which was much higher in the world of Nussbaumer, apparently. I was a little shocked at the quote, wondering how I was going to come up with the money for this unplanned expense, that didn't seem in the least bit to make sense as a sensible resolution to the current problem, but I'm not a plumber, and rely on their expertise, so I accepted this fate, which is outlined in the uploaded image (if allowed, depending on settings for this platform review). In the bill, the technician outlined that he had "attempted to snake" the cleanout, my drain was "filled with concrete" , and "Todd will call the customer with an estimate (on the future work proposed)". None of this is true. The technician didn't even run the snake machine, there was no concrete in my drain, and Todd never got back to me with a quote on proposed work, despite me reaching out to him countless times. I had another plumber come out to take a look at our problem, as the backup was getting worse and worse every time we did a load of laundry, and after inspecting the problem, he then looked at the bill and the notes by the technician and laughed out loud. Plumber #2 brought the same snake machine (size and everything!) as this Nussbaumer enterprise, and chipped the drain cover out, removed a bit of mud (couple handfuls) and coast was clear again after snaking it, all in less than 10 minutes time! Nussbaumer charged me $200 for doing literally NO work, and plumber #2 charged me a fraction of that and actually fixed the problem!! In the following weeks, I tried calling Todd again, and let his administrative assistant/phone answerers know that I was unhappy with the service provided, and that I would like to speak to the owner. He dodged my calls for 3 weeks without a return call. It was obvious to me that he had no intentions of making this right. (The internet is great for righting wrongs. I hope a lot of people see this review and make it popular) So I took to the internet and social media when folks were looking for REASONABLE, HONEST, and RELIABLE plumbers, and this guy's name was mentioned, I told the TRUTH. And you know what I got for my honesty? More lies from him, attacking my character, telling me I was the liar! If I'm able to attach the bill, the proof is in the pudding. Please consider someone else for your plumbing needs because this guy doesn't care about your needs!

My cast iron plumbing stack cracked along the length, and water was splashing into the 1st floor walls every time we showered or flushed a toilet on the 2nd floor. I called my home warranty company to schedule a repair, and they first dispatched Nussbaumer plumbing. The technician, Bob, showed up on time, inspected the damage, and gave me a copy of his written assessment, which essentially concluded (correctly) that this was normal wear and tear since cast iron simply rusts over time. A few days later, my home warranty company denied the claim because they said they don't cover damage due to frozen pipes. I found out that the owner, Todd, who was never at the property to inspect the damage, submitted a (false) report to the warranty company which he knew would be denied so that he didn't have to do the work. The original report did not mention anything about freezing. It's impossible for the damage in this case to be caused by freezing because (A) the drain pipe was not clogged and generally doesn't have any water in it, (B) adjacent drain pipe sections are undamaged, and (C) nearby supply lines, which are full of water and closer to the exterior wall, are also undamaged. When I called them directly on several occasions, they promised to look into the issue and call me back, but they never did. They once also told me that Todd would call me back, but he never did either. I've since heard from multiple other area plumbers that Nussbaumer has a pattern and reputation of dishonesty, often relying on fabricated stories of freezing and over-pressure to get claims denied, probably because they thought they wouldn't make enough money. Of course, the warranty companies probably love him because they are looking for excuses to get out paying for repairs. I will not call Nussbaumer for any future work and will advise others to avoid them as well.

Plumber comes out and is told above info. He proceeds to dump water in the tank and the bowl at the same time and then declares that bowl is leaking through hairline cracks (which it never did before.) Tells home warranty company who refuses to cover repair. When his mistake is pointed out to him he begins a long, well-rehearsed explanation blaming the home warranty company. If he had bothered to examine the tank to find the leak it most likely could have been fixed; instead he lied and left knowing his visit would be covered by the $75 fee we were charged. Next day his office calls us to offer to replace the toilet for $XX. So, not only did he refuse to fix the toilet, he then tried to sell us a new one outside of the home warranty to collect a higher fee.
Description of Work: Toilet in basement leaks from the tank, not the bowl. We have been using a bucket of water to flush to toilet. Put a call into home warranty company for repair, explaining that the tank was old and leaking and was told the repair should be covered.

Todd and assistant showed up at the very end of the time frame I was given but were very courteous and professional while onsite. However, the problem I had came when I was given the quote over the phone and nothing in writing. AHS contract pays for tank and labor but not "modifications" which is never defined. Price given by this contractor was a flat amount and they would not send any documentation which showed exactly what was required. In my opinion, they tried to overcharge me to make up the low payment they were getting from AHS and to recoup travel time. It's now almost a full month from when I was first told I'd get something in writing but still have never received it. I'm still battling AHS for them to have another contractor bid the job OR pay the lowest quote I can find. As with all contractors, get multiple bids. I cannot speak to their quality of work but they seemed knowledgeable.

Although it took a couple weeks to get things scheduled correctly, all the people that came to the house and did the work and the estimate were professional, and did excellent work so far as we could tell. Their quoted price for the work, which was much more than a leaky pipe, was about what we expected and ended up being less. When they started the work they fixed what need to be done and left everything else because they said it was fine. They offered to match any competitors bids. We were pleased with the work, which ultimately entailed putting the toilet on correctly so they leaking stopped and adding some new PVC pipe from the toilet area to the house roof. Other estimates were either the same range or higher for similar services. We didn't chose Nussbaumer but I would use them again separate from being a home warranty contractor.
Description of Work: This was the contractor American Home Shield had us use for a "leak" we requested be fixed. We had leaking pipes in the basement and didn't know what the problem actually was.
