bond When he arrived, we first looked at the site of the leak in the bedroom, and then went into the unfinished attic to track down the problem. There was a clear sign of water above where the leak was detected in the bedroom. Out on the roof, what appeared to be a sound and smooth roof from a distance, upon close inspection turned out to be a large number of nails coming through the shingles. Chris surmised that the nails did not hold well in the spongy roof boards, so they popped up and wore through the shingles pre-maturely. The roof looks great from a distance, but it was probably beyond repair. Chris moved on to the front side where he found many more nails protruding, but not as bas as in the back. He measured the roof and said he would prepare an estimate for replacement. He did not charge me anything for his time, and he offered to email me the pictures he took, since we have owned the house for less than a year and the inspection company should have caught this problem.
