We were very pleased with Dave Shurilla's work on the trees around our house. He is a competent professional and it was awe-inspiring to watch him work. He was careful with all the surrounding trees and shrubbery and he cleaned up completely. The unpredictability of the weather caused some delays, but that couldn't be avoided. His price was fair and reasonable compared to others.

We were very pleased with the work completed by Dave. We had a tree removed and the company that did the work did not remove the complete stump. Dave came out to give an estimate to remove the rest of the stump. His bid was by far the lowest of all the estimates we received. He was punctual and always returned phone calls. Dave called the previous night before he was to do the work to confirm time for the next day. He called the morning of to say he would be arriving in a few minutes. He was very meticulous doing the work and his crew cleaned up afterwards. Once everything was complete he left the area cleaner than he found it. Davie and his crew were courteous and competent.

I have used him several times with always good results, but one problem I seem to have with him is that when a member of my church tried to reach him for trim work at our church he never responded to numerous calls over a year ago. Earlier this year we decided to have some work done on our trees and he came right out and gave us a quote on Sep 16th which we accepted. We indicated it was no rush and that he could wait until the leaves were off the trees, if this made it easier. He indicated it was easier with the leaves still on the trees since less raking. We received another call a few weeks later indicating he was tied up with a contract he had with the City of Allentown, but would take care of our trees shortly. We left 3 messages in October and one recently in December, but no response. Have any of you had this problem or are you aware of any reason he is unable to respond. Would love to have David do this work, since his work is always done so well. Bill Perron

Dave was great. He and his men worked very hard in the terrible heat to cut down and remove huge arbs from our back yard. They then removed the stumps; fixed our fence, and replanted young arbs in their place. They removed all the debris and our place looks great. Highly professional job.

The job went great. Everything was done as agreed upon. Clean up was perfect. Price was fair.

He used a protective fence while grinding to limit spread of wood chips and thus easier clean up. He carefully cleaned up the area and made it presentable again. He is honest, respectful, hard working and takes pride in his work and is certainly not pushy. He is a licensed arborist so he knows his trees and what care they should receive. Ask questions and you will be much informed. He is well mannered and it even shows with his family and how he cares for them. The puppy came along one time and was so good, he was content relaxing under a tree and not a yip out of him. He gives free estimates and was lower than the others. He did the same or even better work also. I will certainly use him in the future. Thanks Dave !

A tree was recently partially removed from our property by the city and we were required to use their approved vendor list to have the remainder taken down, the stump ground, and a new tree planted. During October and November I called down the list and got visits and quotes from five vendors who responded. If any provided any special services different from the others, they did not specify so on their estimates, so one must assume they perform about the same duties. Dave Shurilla, aka "The Wood Guy" was wonderful to deal with. He is very down to earth and was quick to come assess the situation and provide a quote. Conversation with him was a a pleasure - you are dealing with a real human being and not some guy with a clipboard. He did what he promised in showing up promptly, provided a lot of information, and best of all, his quote of $900 was the lowest received, less than half what two other vendors quoted. I will come back and update this review when the work is done, but for now, The Wood Guy has won us over with fair pricing, quick response, and the kindness of speaking with us candidly.
