If anyone is looking for an expert electrician, SAW Electric is the place to call. Shane, the company's owner, is the real deal. My project involved several projects in and around my garage and the patio we recently built next to the garage. From landscape lighting to state of the art outdoor outlets, Shane did an excellent job. He responded quickly to my inquiry and came to my house within 24 hours after our first contact and followed up with a written estimate that same day. I needed the projects done for a special occassion. Shane rearranged his schedule so that he could get my job done on time. He is a hard worker, very knowledgeable and a solid, creative person. I was really impressed that Shane suggested a special effect----a backlight inside the garage for the stained glass window above the patio. Quick and efficient

Shane did a wonderful job wiring the two new sump pumps I had installed. He definitely knew what he was doing. He was here on time (I needed him to come early, and he was here at 7:30 on a Saturday morning!) I am pleased with his work and would definitely recommend him for any electrical project.

After submitting my request the owner of the company was very quick to text me, even though it was a Sunday morning. He came the next day, and although he seemed to know what he was doing, his language was crude, cursing, complaining about another customer &;blowing up her phone commenting that she was foreign and expects everything done immediately. He then proceeded to tell me about his family, how he plans to move to Florida because Pittsburgh sucks and he cannot wait to get away, as well as telling me how much money he has already spent on his training for his Florida electricians license. Normally I don't mind light conversation, but I was working from home, and did not really have the time, which I had mentioned when he first arrived. After giving me a quote to install 9 new breakers while at my house, the price increased almost 25% when we found out we needed to add 2 more breakers. The evening before he was supposed to do the work, I texted to confirm our 1:00 appointment. When he finally replied he said he expected to be there, but his van was in the shop- he should hopefully know by 10:00am. I told him to please let me know as early as possible as my boyfriend and I had each taken a 1/2 day as we expected there would be no power/internet, and we work from home. At 11:15 he said he couldn't make it. I asked when he would be able to as we had planned on the electrical inspection the beginning of the next week, and here it is Thursday afternoon. After over 2 hours he replied he couldn't tell me until his van was done because his scheduling book was in the van. After an additional 3 hours he finally responded that he could be at our house at 10:30 the next morning. The next day he was on time, and did the work very quickly. He did not clean up after himself, and left pieces of stripped wire on the floor near the circuit breaker box. I had given him a list of what breakers should be installed where, with a few that he could decide on his own, as long as he marked them so I knew what breaker controlled what. That weekend I went to install an outlet on one of the new circuits. I reviewed his list, and it was a complete MESS! I texted him with a copy of his notes and a picture of the breaker box asking for clarification as they did not match (ex. He said he put a 20amp breaker in a slot that actually had a 15amp breaker) at 9:47pm. I got a Read-Receipt showing he read my text, but he NEVER RESPONDED! Had I followed what he had said, I would have turned the wrong breaker off, and electrocuted myself when attempting to install an outlet. If we fail the final electrical inspection because his work was not up to par I will be suing. Unfortunately we should have gone with our gut and not hired someone young and unprofessional, but we were in a time crunch and thought we had to get stuff done before the rough inspection. Turned out we didn'tt. What a waste! He may be a licensed electrician, but his business acumen leaves much to be desired. Seems like getting paid is all he cared about.

Came the very next morning to replace a light switch. Job was done well and quickly with no problems.

Saw Electric was provided. Since 5 stars were given, I called Shane on a Thursday. He did make the initial diagnosis within 2 hours of the call. However, he said he would return to fix the problem either Friday, depending on his schedule or Saturday morning. Monday morning the tenant called me to state he did not show up or call. I called him Sunday night, Monday morning followed by a text. No response. I need to find another electrician and start all over. Thank goodness, this was not an emergency, albeit an inconvenience. He charged$100.00 for the service call just for the diagnosis and no follow up.

Shane is incredibly responsive and professional. He scheduled my ceiling fan installation within a week and installed in less than an hour. It looks and works great! I'll be hiring Shane again for more work.
