Grade: F- A vital service/maintenance call was scheduled for today but... No One Showed Up. What else happened? Oh that's right: Atlas's horrid, rude, sarcastic, unprofessional receptionist, AMY, is what happened (at least that’s the name she gave me). FAIL.
Description of Work: From start to finish - except for the nice technician, Ralph, who had been scheduled until things fell apart - Atlas's "representative" - the receptionist or whatever her job is - destroyed their reputation within a minute. While Ralph didn't get to do the work, since he was reassigned at the last minute, we did talk - twice - and he was very nice, so this review is not a reflection on him. No, this was all about Amy, and about Atlas's failure to have someone show up as scheduled, failure to contact me, just... failure. Amy was the rudest, most sarcastic and snide office worker I’d ever come across in customer service. She should be kept far away from the public; she's losing business for the company. While waiting for the alternate service technician (who never showed up, "coincidentally" right after my little conversation with Amy), I'd called Atlas to discuss a maintenance contract, but within the first 30 seconds of the call, Amy single-handedly *destroyed* any hope of future business from me or from anyone else I might have referred. Word-of-mouth is everything. Anyway, after a litany of rude and sarcastic - and unbelievably unprofessional - comments and digs that this Amy person was throwing at me, which started right after I had no choice but to ask her to let me finish what I was trying to say to her (she kept interrupting me, cutting me off, and I couldn't get a word in edgewise), I requested that she have her manager call me, and she replied – VERY sarcastically - “Oh, I sure will!” But.... no call, and (hmmmm....) no service call either. Unprofessional, rude, sarcastic, cold, snappish, extremely unfriendly – those words don't even come close to describing how she treated me. I was shaking with anger and shock by the time I hung up. She reminded me of one of those pathetic school-yard bullies who pick on kids with glasses. And here, I was trying to actually GIVE them business! There's lots more, but I think this paints a good picture. Fortunately I found another contractor who quickly grasped my situation, knew that someone was waiting at the house on my behalf for the no-show Atlas tech (again, it wasn't his fault), and wow - did that other company ever step up! (I posted a very positive review for them.) They now have all my HVAC and related business, as well as that of people I refer, along with soooooo many others in an industry that I'm in, which uses HVAC contractors all the time. Too bad this Amy gal didn't know who she was dealing with or how far-reaching my recommendations (and reviews) go. And shame on you, Atlas Heating & Cooling: You're just as culpable for this fiasco brought on by your snide "representative," as well as for your failure to send someone out as scheduled, and for failing to contact me at all, even at my request. Your records show me on the schedule and obviously the service was never done. But did I get a call from the manager as I'd requested? No. Did I get a call from *anyone* at Atlas to find out what happened, since the job wasn't done as scheduled? No. So regardless of what Amy may or may not have told her boss or anyone else, Atlas is responsible. Hiring this person was a baaaad business decision. Amy destroyed Atlas's reputation, along with the so-called management. UPDATE: I forgot to mention one other person at Atlas who was nice and very helpful: Yvette. She is the person who scheduled the service call the day before, and she quickly understood my unique situation and the urgency for the service request, and she stepped up and made it work - that is, until Amy and management undid all her efforts. Thanks, Yvette!
