E & E Chimney Sweeps

A year ago we had planned on having a gas fireplace insert installed because we wanted to get away from the hard work, mess and hassle of feeding a woodstove. We did our homework and got an estimate from E & E but for various reasons we decided not to spend the money. This year we bit the bullet and had E & E do the installation for us. I showed them the estimate from the prior year and, of course, the costs had gone up. But they did everything possible to try to get the price down very close to last year's estimate. This is a very professional outfit and it was a pleasure to do business with them. Everyone from the sales team to the installers were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We love the new fireplace and would highly recommend this company. I should mention that we also had to have a plumber run a gas line to the fireplace and that cost an additional $650.

The servicemen came out on time, explained what was going wrong with our insert and then fixed it. They also replaced a cord on the stove for us. The servicemen were very professional and very pleasant they explained every thing to us. We will continue to recommend E&E Chimney to everyone.

Overall, very pleased with the installation. They were on time, neat and did what they said they would do. My only criticism of them comes from a misunderstanding regarding some of the paperwork. That being said, I would definitely use them again and would readily recommend them to family and friends.

When I called E & E, they couldn't come out on a day I had off during the week, but they had weekend hours. What a treat! Technician Sean called about 15 minutes before he arrived at the appointed time of 12:00 noon. I outlined what I wanted done. He put down a drop cloth in front of my wood stove and went right to work. It didn't take long for the stove pipe cleaning. Then I could hear him moving around the other chimney. He came in with his vacuum and cleaned out my wood stove, then proceeded to clean the top of my oil burner because he had loosened some soot when he was up on the roof. He presented me with a very reasonable bill. There was a memo on the bottom of the invoice: the last time they were out to clean my wood stove pipe was in August of 1990. Of course my stove pipe had been cleaned since then (we did it ourselves before the 2nd story was built). But speak of good record keeping. Sean was totally professional and knowledgeable. There was absolutely no dirt or soot from the cleaning anywhere in my house. It took about 45 minutes for the entire job.

Everything always good with the company. Have used them for years but called to schedule for a repair in nov 2014 and the earliest they could come out was 2 months! Looking for another company.

The technician entered the house and immediately set up drop cloths to keep the area from becoming dirty. He inspected the chimney and informed me that the chimney would not need cleaning as it was very clean from only occasional use. He then informed me that there would be no charge since there was no need to service the chimney. I honestly find that very refreshing that a business would only charge for services rendered and not for evaluation, it is uncommon these days and reminds me of how business used to be run in the good old days. The technician then evaluated my hot water heater exhaust to see if that line needed cleaning and once again it didn't. My entire chimney and system was rebuilt 7 years ago and it is has only been occasionally used for holiday fires etc, but it is still a surprise to me that it doesn't need cleaned as there isn't enough to clean on the lining! I would definitely hire again and am more than happy to pay for the services rendered. The original quote for cleaning was expected and very reasonable, so I would have gladly paid this even as service call for evaluation.

We had engaged E&E to clean out our chimney,but when the service tech inspected it,he found that it was already clean and did not need any further work.He then told us there would be no charge,even though he climbed the roof and reinstalled our chimney cap that had blown off in a windstorm.

they were excellent. I didn't use them because of the price (they are also 40 min away). Keith was prompt, professional, polite, answered all my questions and pointed out problems. he also gave me 3 estimates that I asked for - repair, rebuild entire chimney or put in gas burning fireplace. he found that the smoke chamber was not constructed according to code and must not be used (although my 3 other estimates did not claim that. however, we did have problems with smoke coming into the house years ago.) we have been using a fireplace candleholder to burn candles for years now. I would say to get an estimate from E&E if you live in their area and have a problem because I got the sense that he knows what he is talking about. he made sense to me. but check out prices with others.

I called E & E when I noticed what looked like (from the ground) fur, feathers, or nesting material in my chimney cap. I was given a three hour window and the technician, Sean, showed up within that time frame. He also called me a half hour before hand to let me know that he was on his way. When he showed up, he laid cleaned drop cloths in front of my fireplace and inspected the chimney. Then he went outside and climbed onto the roof with a ladder to inspect the chimney cap. He alerted me that what I thought was nesting material was actually just discoloration on the cap and took pictures for his files. While on the roof, he inspected my other chimney that is connected to my furnace (although I did not ask him to check it). He would not charge me for the visit because he said he did not have to repair or clean my chimney and that I should call the company after I had burned a full cord of wood for a cleaning. I most definitely will!! This is a terrific company who is not out to nickel and dime their customers! I also found out that they do all the chimney work for all the buildings at The Lawrenceville School so that is another seal of approval for me!

They have done a nice job - but only time will tell how well it stands up to the elements. Since the job was done by two people in around a day and a half, it seemed a little expensive (but maybe materials are costly and they did have to travel a good distance).. I didn't get a second bid because the only other highly rated outfit anywhere near here could not even offer to get to me for an estimate for more than a month and I wanted the job done before winter set in.

He did a great job. He was very quick and efficient.

The Servicemen arrived on time, cleaned the pellet stoves and chimney. The servicemen were very friendly and professional. They clean up after they were done. We have always used E & E and always will. They are also very good with pets. I recommend them to everyone

E and E Chimney Sweeps checked my fireplace and let me know that I didn't need a sweep at this time. They explained the reason why smoke was coming into my family room, even though the flu was open. They were most patient answering all my questions. They were punctual, clean and polite. The took pictures of my screen to see if it can be replaced by them. They have to check the screen model. I am currently awaiting a call back from them to see if this can be replaced by them. I would not hesitate to call them again next year for my annual cleaning. I was especially appreciative that they did not charge me for the service call. Great customer service is always appreciated. A rarity in these times.

I purchased this stove in November, so the busy season had already started for this market and it took about a month to get installed. It is clear that Xavier, the installer, is a true expert in this field. Took about 3-4 hours start to finish to get stove insert in and 4 inch pipe up through chimney. There was a minor hiccup with the custom oversize trim piece going to wrong address, so they had to leave a gap in the trim and come back with correct trim in 2 weeks. They made it right by waiving pellet delivery charge. I have had it running 24/7 ever since and it has essentially replaced the need to run my oil fired forced air furnace. Not to mention, the family room where it is located went from being cold and drafty to nice and warm at 75 degrees. My only complaint is that the unit is a bit on the loud side when fan is turned up past low, but that is the nature of a fan running constantly with a pellet stove. Takes about an hour to cool down for the once a week cleanings that are necessary with a pellet stove and the cleaning process itself takes about 10-15 mins with a shop vac and brush. My house is 2500 sq ft and I"m estimating saving about $1500/yr in oil savings, possibly more, plus the added benefit of a warmer living space and the flame is nice to look at as well. Pellet consumption is around 1 bag a day with these "polar vortex" temperatures outside.

We scheduled our appointment 6 weeks ahead of time - granted, it was right in the heart of the cold/fireplace time of year, but regardless of potentially mentioned concerns, like emergencies and their being later than anticipated, they showed up well within the suggested window, and as requested they did call before they showed up so you're not handcuffed to your house all day. I will say, though, more than 10 minutes might be something to consider; for example closer to 30, because if you're running out to so much as the grocery store, the total turn-around time could be closer to 30 minutes. I might also suggest having the guys wear boot-covers when entering customers homes. The guy was pretty clean but still it's a courtesy and so many service companies are doing it these days. All that said, overall we would use them again considering the overall service. Comparatively, though, they are among one of the most expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

It took them longer than anticipated but it was also cheaper than they had quoted so we were very happy. Also they vaccuumed everything continuously as they worked and put down fabric so there was no mess!

They were also very upfront about the solution suggested by another chimney company-one that that E&E COULD have performed, but were honest enough to tell me would damage the chimney in the long run. They helped me retrieve the manufacturer's information, and told me to look for a supplier who dealt specifically with that manufacturer. I couldn't have been more impressed with their honesty, integrity , knowledge and professionalism. They would be the first people I would call for any issue with my fireplace in the future, and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

We were very pleased with the service we received. They determined we did not need our chimneys swept and installed a new chimney cap on our gas chimney. They were punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They took the time to provide us with information and to answer our questions. We will continue to use their services in the future.

E & E was great. We first scheduled them to do a Level 2 chimney inspection and cleaning as we recently purchased a home with an unvented propane fireplace. They came out looked at the chimney and told us that it was not worth servicing as there were some issues with the top of the chimney and the installation. They didn't charge us any fees and recommended installing a pellet or gas stove. They gave us a couple of options to repair the chimney, install a pellet or gas stove, or do nothing. We went with the pellet stove option and they came and did a great job installing it and capping the chimney. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Check for a chimney sweep needs more work. They didn't charge for the service call. I will use them when I am ready to do the work. Very honest and professional.

They showed up during the scheduled window, and got right to work. They were very neat, and even vacuumed up the ash that was in the fireplace from my last fire. The gentleman explained to me some maintenance steps to help keep the chimney clean, and was happy to accept credit card payment.

They were prompt for inspecting chimney. Since it wasn't dirty-- cleaning wasn't needed this year.Have dealt with E & E for many years. They are always professional and I trust them completely.
