Antonini Masonry & Chimney Repair

When my chimney was damaged by a storm, I obtained numerous estimates, yet could not reach a level of confidence to hire someone. That was until I met Matt from Antonini Masonry and Chimney Repair. Clearly well versed and experienced in chimney restoration, I believed that Antonini Masonry could meet my expectations, and they did. Matt and his highly skilled team rebuilt my chimney from the roof up, installed beautiful, high quality copper flashing, and matched my colonial brick house with a final limewash. The results were above and beyond my high expectations, and working with each of them, the care they took of my property, their clean-up and each interaction were exceptional. My roofer has even commented upon the high level of craftsmanship reflected by the roof flashing and overall restoration. Weeks later, I still find myself walking outside just to look at my new chimney! If you have any doubts, relax and hire Antonini Masonry. I’m so very pleased that I did.

Unable to hook up with contractor, after two phone calls to him. He did not call until about 10 days after my last call try. Unfortunately I had to hire another contractor in the interim. He was very apologetic, said he was out of town. I might try him again sometime down the road.

Matt and Peter did an excellent job. What I liked the most was that they worked very cleanly. Thoroughly pleased.

Matt and Don arrived at the agreed upon time. They started on the roof (in the rain) and quickly removed the bricks and mortar down into the attic. The opening was covered quickly to keep the rain out. Drop cloths and plastic was used to keep the spread of dust and debris to a minimum. As they removed the bricks shop vacs kept the dust down. All the bricks, mortar and debris were loaded up and hauled away. The job was finished in a days time. Matt and Don were very courteous and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

We highly recommend them and have done so already. They had a bear of a time removing old, crooked , stuck chimney pipes to put in a chimney liner. They stayed until it was done in the pouring rain. Then continued the job rebuilding and stuccoing our chimney. It looks terrific. Makes an enormous difference in the appearance of our house. Thank you very much Matt and Donald.

The experience was fine, they were good. I would use them again if I get a good price on what I wanted done. I had hired them to come out to clean the gutters. While they were on the roof, the guy saw the chimney needed work badly. The owner of the company came out and looked at it. He agreed so I hired them. I thought that was very good. They did pretty well cleaning up the mess. It took two hours one day and two hours the next day to complete the job because they had to let something dry.

The job was completed in a few days and it looks great. They were very organized and professional.

Good-- he came by one Friday and did the first part, let it dry over the weekend, and came back on Monday with two guys who quickly finished the job.

Matthew and his assistant, Peter, showed up on the agreed upon date and at the agreed upon time. Work was performed in a very professional manner throughout and both men respected my home and property throughout the project. They cleaned up at the end of each work day and did a very thorough cleanup at the end of the project. By agreement, Antonini was paid at the completion of work. He didn't ask for any money up front, nor would I have paid it if he had asked. Overall, a very good experience.

I called them based on the ad they had in the member book we had just received. I called and spoke to Matt. He said he could come out to my house the very next day to take a look at my chimney and flue as we had smoke coming into the house when we lit our last fire. He came in and promptly laid drop cloths down so as to not dirty my floors. I loved that! After he looked at everything, he gave me a breakdown, in an easy to understand way, of what he saw. He was not pushing or pressing for more business. He did what I asked him to do, at a fair price. I would HIGHLY recommend Matt to anyone!

Getting Matthew Antonini to actually come out was a chore. I first contacted Matthew in the fall of 2014. Matthew was prompt in coming out to my house and providing an estimate. He seemed to be knowledgeable and he was professional. Several weeks later, Matthew contacted me and asked if it was alright to schedule the work for spring of 2015. That was ok for me, the work I needed done was not of an emergency nature. In the spring (2015), the work was scheduled for June, but slipped due to weather and Matthew's other contracts. Matthew provided me with advanced notice and asked if I was ok with the schedule. I was. The work was finally started on July 11. Matthew and another guy showed up and proceeded to fix the stucco. The five smaller areas were finished that day. The one larger area required a return trip on Sunday to apply the final layer of stucco. It is now almost two months later and the repairs are doing fine. The only complaint is that there was one large (5" diameter) chunk of cement that they left that they shouldn't have. There were also a lot of small pieces of cement in the areas repaired. I did not take points off for this since I don't see how it could have been cleaned up any better (they did use drop cloths as needed). I did take a few points off for scheduling. Matthew did ok each delay with me and I agreed but still, a nine month delay seemed a little excessive. Matthew earned some points when he volunteered (for no charge) to remove a portion of a vertical piece of flagstone. This required cutting and an additional 30 minutes (maybe a bit more) of his time. Thanks Matthew. I contacted Matthew my email and he always replied promptly. The bottom line is: I will use him again if needed.

Fantastic.!!!! Our Freind and business owner recommended him to us. We have a special Timberland fireplace furnace heater later which most chimney guys are not for familiar with. It was a relief to hear him say that he lived in Maine and he has worked on heater leaders like our. My husband and I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Overall it was a great service and value to have an expert come in and check and clean our chimneys. Matt explained what to look for in the future and what repairs may be needed down the line. I would definitely recommend!

I decided to purchase the Big deal for a chimney sweep that Antonini Masonry & Chimney Repair had available, and boy am I glad that I did! Matt arrived on time, was very professional and personable. Matt did an amazing job of cleaning my chimney and left no mess after the job was done. Matt did do a safety inspection and showed me photographs and reviewed additional repairs that were needed. Could not ask for better. Respectful, expedient, on time, clean work site, protected landscape plantings, gave detailed explanations of everything that needed done and why, patient with questions, friendly, low-key, knows his stuff, obviously loves masonry & stone & loves his work & is good at it. Absolutely would not hesitate to hire again and/or to recommend. Skip the big companies and get Matt to do your job. He has creative solutions for tricky situations.
