He was super nice and very knowledgeable. I knew I had a roof leak with one of my vent stacks and he fixed this as part of the Big Deal as well as other minor issues. He also recommended replacing the remainder of my collar seals around my roof vents to prevent future leaks and he gave me a very reasonable price to complete this work (which he did). I would highly recommend using him to get a quick health check on your roof (piece of mind) or if you have bigger roofing needs.

He did the work that was on this contract and made suggestions for future work.

I called James due to water overrunning one of my gutters during a very large thunderstorm. I had to leave a message but was called back in less than 30 minutes. I explained the issue and that I suspected that the downspout on that gutter was restricted (I'd already made certain by myself that the actual gutter was clear). James came out to look at my gutter the same morning I called. He disassembled the downspout, confirmed that there was debris caught in it and removed what was causing the problem. He also told me that the reason the debris was catching was that the gutter was assembled incorrectly. He also corrected that issue so that debris shouldn't get caught as easily in the future. I recommend James Townsley Contracting without hesitation. James was great to deal with and acted very professionally. I also thought his pricing was fair.

Did not return my phone call, apparently does not do small jobs. Will not try to contact him in the future.

Very well. The new roof looks beautiful and James is a very responsive person, giving excellent customer service. We had some problems with leaking from two skylights, but James responded promptly and resolved the problems by installing additional metal to divert water from hitting the skylights. The first one required two visits, the second was resolved in a single visit. Note: these were not the skylights he installed, but older ones (probably 15 years old), and the first one he worked on had leaked intermittently for a long time prior to the new roof.

Great work for a fair price with quality materials. James came out and reviewed our roof. He found the cause of a leak that we thought was from secondary flashing and fixed the seal on the roof stack, among a few other details. We asked for an received a competitive quote on replacing our aging roof which was provided in a few days. After receiving other quotes, we reviewed his quote with him and upon further inspection, he saw signs of potential hail damage. His knowledge and experience helped us get the large majority of the work paid for by our insurance company. We hired him for the roof and they tore it down and replaced it in a day. In addition, his team did a number of smaller jobs (hung an outside door, repaired our deck, etc.).

Roof needs to be replaced but I am not prepared to do that at this time so mr. Townsley repaired the roof and I will call him in the fall

James provides a good service. Some animal made an entry through a hole in my roof. James sealed it when he came the first time, but the animal torn it open again. James came back again and sealed it very solid. Unlike some of the contractors I have used, James honors his work and his word.

Called James after we noticed water stains in upstairs bathroom wall and ceiling after heavy rains. He stopped by the next day and diagnosed the problem as cracked / worn vent collars on roof leaking. Quoted the job but I needed the house power-washed also so we added this to the quote along with the gutter guards. James didn't try to push or over sell but discussed the obvious stuff that needed to be done and now I don't have to do it. Price was fair. The job was completed within a week and looks great. They even power-washed the deck railing which wasn't on the quote. James is a professional and knows what he's doing and seems to go the extra step to do a good job. Already have recommended him to friends.

James and his crew were fantastic! He arrived on time and his staff worked very hard with only one short lunch break....never saw a roof go on so fast! James took the time to explain everything in detail and made suggestions for additional work ....without any hard sell tactics! Even though he was paid in full he arrived the next day to finish some lose ends. Would highly recommend !!

I purchased the "$89 Roof Maintenance Package" deal. Communication was excellent, very professional, prompt, and very personable. James arrived on time, actually he arrived about 15 minutes early and quickly began assessing my roof. He provided great feedback and because my roof is pretty new there wasn't much maintenance to perform. However, he repaired some shingles that had slipped on an accessory window roof/awning to prevent birds, bees, etc from entering in to my attic.

After initially missing each other via phone and email we were able to set up a time. He was very thorough in explaining everything.

It went very good. He came out and gave me an estimate on the roof. He came out a week later and finished it maybe in one day. It was a big deal purchase. The price was good.

I called Jim Townsley because we thought the flashing around our chimney needed repair (we were experiencing water damage in the room just below the chimney. Jim went up and said that the only way to get to the flashing was to remove a layer of stucco which would be a big job. And since the rest of the roof looked good and relatively new it was likely the flashing was OK. On the other hand the chimney itself looked in need of repair and that was likely causing the damage. So while he could not perform the service we called him for, he offered to do a few other things to make up the cost of the Angie's list coupon. And he gave some advice regarding problems we've been having with our gutters. So he was completely honest and fair and we've asked him to estimate the gutter work.

I called James on a Friday afternoon at 5 PM expecting to leave a message but James picked up and he agreed to come out the following day to take a look at my roof, even though it was the Saturday before Christmas. James arrived on time, checked out the problem, gave an estimate, and indicated he could complete the repair that afternoon, which was a great option given that it was supposed to rain or snow the following day. James completed the repairs that afternoon; in his dealings he was courteous, thorough, and professional. I was so pleased with his services that I hired his company to do additional work, including cleaning and upgrading the gutters, which has since been completed

Jim did a great job! His crew showed up and power washed the deck, then began rebuilding a rotted pergola and replacing rotted boards on the deck. As soon as the weather cooperated, the group began painting the house and in spite of some bad weather, got the job finished in about two weeks. Everything went really well and they did a great job. Very happy with the job and will recommend Jim's company to anyone who asks!

Sealed nail head pops & vents, inspected roof. Recommended two vent cap replacements.

The inspection went very well. Mr. Townsley pointed out missing shingles and damaged pipe collars which would need further work. Mr. Townsley also showed me photographs of the work that needed to be done in the futher. Overall Mr. Townsley was very pleasant, efficient and did a superb job. I plan on using Mr. Townsley for my future project and I will definitely refer him to my friends and family members.

This roof was nearing the end of it's life, and it seemed that the various issues- leaks, ventilation, gutters would be better served by replacing the roof rather than spending lots of time (and money) dealing with the problems when the whole roof would need replacing in a couple of years. Jim did a great job- did the whole job in a day, cleaned up the site, and charged exactly what he had estimated. I'm very pleased.

Jim is very friendly and very busy. He seems like an honest, hard working small business man. His business goes in spurts and sometimes he gets very busy and has a problem contacting all his customers. But when you get him on site, he does a great job in a reasonable amount of time. The Roof Maintenance Package was a GREAT deal, but the additions that might not be covered under the package add up pretty quickly. I had a leading seal on a vent which Jim suggested I replace the seal rather than just caulk and he also suggested that I replace 3 other vents (of the same age and condition but weren't leaking yet). I did so and hopefully now I won't need any additional roof work for some years to come. I'm still on original roof, 17 years old, and Jim said it was in really good condition, so he didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't really need. Seemed like good guy and I will call on him again if I need roof work in the future.

They did a great job and are nice people.

James replaced some shingles, repaired a place where a fascia had fallen out of position, and replaced many nails which had come out. Just those few things were worth the $99. Subsequent to that, I noticed that one of the skylights developed a very large hole. This is one we knew we'd have to replace anyway. (When James was here, he reported a hole and cracking, but something happened afterwards). He was kind enough to return at no charge to put a tarp over the skylight so that it wouldn't leak during the period before we can schedule our roof and skylight replacements.
