He did a great job. The only issue was that so many people signed up for the special deal that our email about scheduling got lost, so we had to call again to schedule. However, once we were scheduled, he came on time, he did the work, and he didn't try to sell us anything more. When we do need a new roof, we'll likely call him.

Excellent. They were over quickly and found out my ridge cap/vent was in place, it was just a different type. They also repaired the faulty tile, as well as took a look at the rest of the roof.

James and one of his team showed up as promised the next day and repaired the shingles, and replaced the worn out vent collars. Work was completed with quality, and James took extra time to describe the condition of my roof, suggested care and maintenance, etc. James was very professional, knowledgeable, and transparent in describing the situation, my options and costs. Very pleased with the response and work completed. Would definitely call again.

Several different repairs were made . I was very satisfied with the work completed. His men were there on time and went about their work ,explained how the work would be done and cleaned up the job site at the end of the day.

Great . I was able to get several different jobs done with this one contractor . Jim was able to explain the cause for the gutter issue I was having and provide a cost efficient solution to remedy the situation . He was also able to paint shutters , matched the original paint, replace broken ones and re-attach shutters w new anchors. Front door and sidelight was repainted . Rotten trim work was replaced on a garage door ,then it was sealed ,primed and painted .

I cannot say enough good things about James Townsley. He was very responsive in scheduling his appointment with me, and he arrived at the appointed time. He examined my roof thoroughly and performed the minor roof sealing we had contracted for. He very clearly told me what repairs he felt my roof needed, and within a week he provided me with a written quote for the necessary roofing work he suggested. My roof cupola top had also blown off during a recent storm, and while he was on my roof he replaced and secured the roof cupola top for me at no extra charge. He also helped me with a minor gutter repair. I found Jim to be very professional, very thorough, very helpful, and very personable. He works WITH you on all levels. I would fully recommend him to anyone needing roofing repair or replacement.

Jim was able to come out and identify that some shingles needed to be repaired and some to be tightened. He was able to match the color of the shingles to our existing roof.

Jim was timely in terms of providing an estimate and very thorough in explaining options. He was not pushing for any particular scope of the project, specific shingle supplier, nor attempting to upsell extras. He was happy to supply color samples, advice, and flexibility on when to do actual work. From a price point of view he was significantly lower than 2 other quotes, and since he is a one crew operation seems to be able to undercut others who have lots of layers of management adding cost. At the same time, he is fully certified by GAF so is able to provide a full mfg warranty that is even transferable, so if he is not available many years in the future, you still have a mfg warranty to fall back on. The project was done over 3 days which was in the range of what was expected, and each day the entire site was cleaned up of building materials, nails, etc. Good care was taken to not significantly damage the flowers/shrubs. His crew was very hard working, continuing to work into the evening as daylight allowed. I would recommend to others seeking high quality roofing at a reasonable price.

The painter arrived early and quietly on Friday the morning. He set up his ladders and went quickly to work. We were having siding work done at the same time and those men were able to work around our painter because of his efficiency. He was only here about 2 hours by the time the work was finished. We were pleased with the condition of the job and found him to be a very dependable contractor. We are planning on using his services in the future for further work on the interior of our house.

Mr. Townsley is very competent. He arrived promptly and spent a good deal of time examining the roof. He then gave me a very detailed explanation of what he had found, and recommended solutions for problem areas he discovered. He was very 'user friendly' in his explanation, not trying to baffle me with buzzwords. He is very professional. I asked him to rectify one of the problems which he found, and he gave me a very good price. In my opinion the $89 charge for his roof analysis is a phenomenal deal; I would have expected to pay far more for the excellent service provided. I intend to use his company for all future needs for my roof; and since he also offers interior/exterior painting services, I will use him for those requirements as well.

I was totally impressed with this contractor with his fairness on the problems of my roof. Jim explained all my options without once ever forcing me into any extra work. He explained to my wife and I what was going on with the problems on our roof. We have only been here in Delaware in our home just under (2) two years and we knew that the roof wasn't new when we bought our house but Jim identified the approximate age of our roof and how much more time we might have left. I have never met a contractor that took so much time to explain all of these options to us. He would not let us put any needless money into our roof because eventually it would be ripped out when a new roof would be done. I asked Jim to take a measurement of our roof and he was going to send us a quote on a new roof without any pressure to do so. My wife and I will consider what we will eventually do and most certainly give Jim and his company consideration on the job. Thanks for a nice job.

I read other reviews for Townsley Contracting before calling Jim and I was not disappointed. He was both responsive and very helpful. We set an appointment for an overall check on the health of my roof which had been prompted by a new leak. Jim arrived promptly at the day and time we had agreed upon. He assessed the roof and also determined the cause of my leak which included digital photos of the various issues he found. At my request, he provided several levels of recommendations ranging from the "let's stop this leak now" to "what would a roof replacement look like?" I appreciated Jim's low key approach to finding the right solution(s) that fit my budget. He did not try to hard sell an immediate roof replacement and even suggested some of the medium repairs could wait until I was ready to replace the roof in a year or two. Based on my experience, I have already asked Jim for quotes on additional work and fully expect that he will be on my shortlist of go-to contractors.

The contractor came on short notice even though this was a small job. He was extremely professional, very fair on the pricing and provided more than I expected. I would use him again and recommend him in a heartbeat. I was extremely satisfied with his overall performance.

He was the least expensive of the 4 contractors I got estimates from which I thought he was more in the ballpark anyway. He is local as compared to the big contractors I spoke to and was also on site doing some of the work. Some of the others I got estimates use third party contractors. Did an excellent job and left my yard and exterior of home very clean.

I found James Townsley on this site and he is local and has excellent reviews. I was looking for a roofer to inspect my roof and I spoke with Jim on late Friday. Jim was available on a weekend and he inspected my roof on Saturday morning. Jim took his time understanding my concerns regarding my roof, and he answered all my questions patiently. Jim took pictures of the repairs he was recommending that would extend the life of my roof. He was very thorough with his inspection. On Monday Jim was available and he repaired all the items we agreed on and sent me the after photos. I have yet to check the roof during daylight but from the photos the repair work looks very good. Jim is easy to talk to and work with and he is prompt. I like that he is local also. But importantly Jim is skilled and knows his craft very well. I felt very comfortable listening to his explanations for the repair work.

I have no complaints. James did a wonderful job. He is personable and easy to work with. He was one of the few roofers who didn't jump immediately to replacing the entire roof. The stucco and roof look brand new after his treatment.

I contacted James the week prior to the job being performed. He promptly answered my call and scheduled to come out to my property the next day to provide an estimate and inspect the work to be performed. He showed up on time and provided a fair estimate. During the inspection he identified that the satellite dishes were installed with an abnormally high number of bolts in more difficult places in the shingles to easily repair. He was very knowledgable about the options to repair and gave two options. A cheaper fix that wouldn't be as long lasting and the proper fix that required replacing more shingles to do the job right. I opted for the proper fix and James was ready to perform the work that day. My home is part of a Home Owner's Association and I didn't have the details on the exact manufacturer/brand and color of the shingles used when the house was built. James helped me to try to match the correct shingles and I reached out to a few neighbors to see if they had the details about the correct shingles I should use for the repair. I wasn't able to track down the information about the proper shingles I should use for the repair that day, so James and I decided that I would reach out to the Homeowner's Association to identify the proper shingles to use and schedule a follow up appointment for him to come back and do the repair. After I tracked down the information, I called James and he came to my house the next day to perform the work. He was very flexible and responsive and the work he did looks perfect. I'm very happy with the result and would highly recommend him to anyone needing roof work done.

James and the team was very professional and delivered a quality project right on schedule. Communication throughout the project was outstanding and I never felt that I didn't know how things were progressing. I also got the impression that James was proactively looking to provide as much value as possible during the whole project, providing information and input on multiple issues outside of the original work scope which resulted in a very satisfied customer. I would easily recommend James and would not hesitate to use him again in future.

Provider was extremely professional and seemed trustworthy. Gave me his honest professional opinion on a small occasional leak we had. Provider took and shared pictures of roof and possible problem area he felt was an architectural issue and gave me a solution he felt was adequate, also said if we had further issues an alternative solution was discussed. Very pleased with service would highly recommend this provider and I would use him again in the future.
