Charlie, my 16 month old son, and I had the pleasure of meeting Jim twice. The first time, I meet him was at Sherwin Williams, although we were never formally introduced. My husband and I thought we could take on our painting project without help (we now know better.) I was at Sherwin Williams with Charlie picking out paint brushes, tape etc. I was by myself and clueless. He took time out of his morning to help me select painting accessories, then after I made my purchase, he carried my bags to my car while I held Charlie. What a genuinely kind and considerate person Jim is. Hire him, you will not be disappointed. You can hire any painter to paint walls. Although not all painters deserve your business --- Jim does!

We have worked with Melissa and Mike on several projects. The most recent was the porch and I have to say, I'm not sure about the actual cost of that project so view the above cost as a very rough estimate. The work provided from choosing designs and colors to the actual painting is always excellent. Stir Your Imagination has also done faux painting in our kitchen, applying a distressed brick/plaster design, and Venientian plaster to a powder room. The work is always done well and cleanup is excellent. Their services can transform a living space into something extraordinary.

Melissa and Jim did a great job on our new house. Most of the interior was covered with wallpaper, which we wanted to have removed and the entire interior repainted. Melissa helped us pick an appealing color palette that consists of six or seven colors that work well together. Jim removed all of the wallpaper, leaving the walls clean and smooth, and then painted the interior. He was very detail oriented and left the place clean at the end of each day. He constantly encouraged us to look for flaws or missed spots, but there were very few. Jim went above and beyond on several occasions, including replacing burned out lightbulbs in hard-to-reach areas, and replacing old brass door hinges with new satin nickel hinges that I had bought thinking I would have to install them myself. One cold day when Jim was in the house painting while we were gone, a pipe that had frozen burst. Jim heard the noise, and immediately investigated and turned off the water supply for us. Had he not cared, we could have suffered a lot of water damage. But we had no damage (other than the burst pipe) thanks to Jim. Bottom line: Stir Your Imagination is a two-person family business that did a very professional job for us at a good value. If we need to hire a painting contractor again in the future, we would readily go back to Jim and Melissa.

It went very well. He was thorough, neat, kind, and had a good work ethic. Also, Melissa came to our house beforehand to show us samples and offer her expert opinion on what colors would work well. We've had Jim & Melissa previously for jobs and will continue to do so in the future. In fact, they're in the middle of a job right now for us.

Stir Your imagination always and I mean ALWAYS does an outstanding job! My husband was concerned that Jim would need the cabinets taken down because there was a strip of about one inch between the wall and the cabinet where he needed to paint. Jim was able to pain that without us taking the cabinet down :) My husband was very pleased that Jim was able to take the overhead light shades off himself so that also saved my husband time. I was so impressed because I had offered for Jim to paint BEFORE cabinets, towel bars, vanity etc were installed. He wanted to be sure my paint didn't get scratched so he opted to do this AFTER everything else was installed. I would have never thought about that! He chose to do the best thing for me instead of the easiest and fastest thing for him! I would never even think of contacting anyone else accept Jim and Melissa from Stir Your Imagination :) They are the BEST!!!! I am so happy I found them years ago and continue use them all the time!

The person performing the estimate was very friendly and thorough, however when we asked that they perform drywall work, he indicated that they would. When we received the estimate, it did not include the drywall work. When we asked, they indicated that they do not do that kind of work. If the person performing the estimate would have been clear and forthcoming with the fact that they do not do that type of work, I would have accepted that and probably hired them to do the finish painting. However now that they misled us and asked us to sign a contract that did not do all that he said that they would do, I was very disappointed and will not consider them for future work.

I am limited in time but all went smooth and clean up was good.

Whole experience was great. Jim came out and measured, sent by email an estimate for painting. Melissa came out for color consultation. was very pleased when she offered the option of two accent walls. (my walls curve up onto the ceiling so i never thought i could have more than one color throughout the space). showed her my new floor and she suggested colors to complement it. she ordered me color samples (using her phone) and i received 8x10 color samples in the mail in 2 days. i went with her suggested colors and couldn't be more pleased. Jim was on time, very professional, great with the animals (puppies & cats), patched holes and even removed some old plant hooks from the ceiling that were no longer wanted, and of course the paint job itself is wonderful. (especially the accent walls). they estimated three days - finished in two. they also adjusted the total bill for paint not used. i am so pleased with this overall experience. I wish all companies were so consumer friendly and courteous and professional.

Called Melissa because I knew her from many years ago growing up. Her and Jim came over one afternoon and looked at the rooms and Melissa helped us pick colors. We made it difficult on them because we used a different color in every room. Jim came back a week or so later and started the painting process. He was at our house all day for several days and never once complained. Their work is to perfection and he cleaned up after himself every day. I will definitely be using them again and have and will recommend them to anyone I know who wants painting done.

WOW!!!! Melissa is the GODDESS OF COLOR!!!! Jim and Melissa turned our house into a warm, inviting home! The kitchen is next on the list to be painted! Melssisa and Jim are very easy to work with, quiet in your home, clean up everything and will help with color choices too. Next year we will have them return to paint our 2nd floor. You don't need to look any further for the TOP Painters in the Pittsburgh Area!!
