J & W Hardware Inc

We purchase Generators and things like that from J and W Hardware. They are really good. They service and they also carry the parts you need if something breaks, where others often don't. I would say we go to J and W twice a week. Right now we're putting up a bluebird box and they helped us figure out how to do that. The difference between them and the larger companies is personal service. I can take a tool that broke here in the kitchen and I'll run up to J and W and say "What is this and where do I find it?" and they are right there. They have just expanded their store and it is very nice. They've added plants and different things. A lot of people tend to use them as opposed to driving all the way to the Carlisle Pike for the bigger shops. It is a family-run organization and when we had the storms here when people were out of power, they were lending their generators to local families around here. They were really on top of it. People were in and out of that store, and we wiped them out, because people were out of power for long stretches of time and they were wonderful, great at supporting the community. That is why we use them. When we need something major we will go to the larger store, but J and W is the place to go. We asked them about the hose on our power washer that had broken and the gentleman there was the owner, and he told my husband that the power washer that goes with this hose, there's a lot of problems replacing the parts. If we bought a new one from them, they would have all the parts that we would need, but even that, he was helpful in trying to fix it for us and how to solve the problem we had, which is a little unusual. We may end up having to buy a new one, because most of the reviews on the parts for the generator that broke are horrible, and people are complaining that they can't fix it once it breaks, so not knowing for sure if it is the hose or the engine itself, we may end up just buying a new one from J and W. That price is $250 which is very reasonable. They are like the neighborhood Ace in the Hole. Their prices are very good, they really undersell a lot of the bigger stores. They are very knowledgeable at what to fix and how to fix it.

They have not preformed any work for me, but I have shopped at this store many times. They are always friendly and more than happy to help me find what's needed. I have purchased multiple heavy items and someone is always there to load for me, answer all my questions - just a great place! It's obvious that customer service is their priority!
