Baleno Concrete

Well, we were so pleased with the job they did for us back in July, we had them return to replace our section of walkway (not the public walk). This included a deep step on the side that was broken off and about to fall into the drive. They reconfigured how the concrete was poured and with a well-engineered expansion joint ensured this section would not separate and break off again. Please review the last review regarding the job they did back in July for additional praise.

Beautiful, high quality job completed by professionals who really know what they are doing. The finished driveway is well angled for drainage, both front and back. Dominic was very informative about the steps being done each day. The attention to detail, including the covering of the fresh cement, was amazing. Dominic's workers were courteous and showed up every day on time. The project was completed in 5 days as promised. The price was a little on the high side, but the quality of workmanship is worth the years of service this project provided. Despite issues that I had with my neighbor, Dominic remained a true professional. He was very conscientious to keep his workers and equipment away from and off her property. The team returned 2 months later to seal the concrete for winter. I would absolutely hire Baleno Concrete again.

I would definitely recomment Mr. Baleno to anyone who needs concrete work and wants the work to be done beautifully. This company renewed my faith in contractors.

I told him that he was trespassing and that he did not have my permission to be on my property for any purpose. I tried to show Mr. Baleno my survey to let him know that the hedge he had damaged was planted within my property boundaries and that the wall he had damaged and was preparing to remove was also partially on my property. Mr. Baleno knew exactly where the property boundary was because right there in my presence he pulled out his measuring tape and his measurement verified my claim that indeed the damaged shrubs and driveway were on my property. Mr. Baleno did not did not offer any apology and he did not offer to repair, restore, or otherwise undo or reimburse me for the damage he caused. I ordered him and his workers off my property. Mr. Baleno had neither my express, nor implicit, permission to encroach upon my property for any purpose. I had never contacted him in any manner requesting the services of his company. I have never given any verbal or written consent to have any work performed by him or his company on, or to, any of my property. I sent a certified letter with delivery confirmation to him demanding that he not further encroach upon or damage my property but I received no reply. Mr. Baleno returned to the neighboring property with his construction workers and machines on August 3, 2010. I spoke to Mr. Baleno and asked if he was going to repair or compensate me for the damage he caused to my driveway apron and the hedge shrubs he killed by uprooting them. I asked also if he was going to cover the repair of the section of the dry stone wall holding up my driveway that he damaged. He did not reply. I remained on site to protect my property and learned that he was there to remove the neighbor?s existing asphalt driveway and replace it with a concrete driveway. His crew blocked access to my driveway with their trucks but did move them eventually after I requested they do so. Over the course of that day and the next, Mr. Baleno and his workers moved and replaced stones from the retaining wall in a manner that undermined its structural integrity and is causing the driveway to sink. The belgian block pavers that bordered my asphalt driveway along the property line in the apron area of the driveway where the damage privet hedge plant were removed at this time and were not replaced, accelerating the deterioration of the driveway apron. Mr. Baleno has made no attempt to provide proper restitution or compensation for the damage he and his workers caused. I am hoping that he will be moved to resolve this matter soon without my having to take legal action against him. At the very least, members of Angie?s list need to know about the unprofessional, criminal, and destructive behavior he has engaged in this case. There was no property line issue involved at this site that contributed to the damage and destruction that Baleno Concrete caused to my driveway in April 2010. If Mr. Baleno did not know he was crossing property lines without the consent of his clients neighbor it is because he did not do due diligence before beginning his work. Had he done so, or had he even shown the common courtesy of ringing my doorbell to announce that he was there to begin work, he would have learned that to carry out his plans he would be encroaching on my property and that he did not have my permission to do so. Nevertheless, it appears that Mr. Baleno ordered his crew to uproot the hedge shrubs planted on my property with the foreknowledge that they would be damaging my driveway. This is evidenced the fact that when he finally divulged the plans for his work to me, he said it included digging a trench, at least one-foot wide on my driveway for the construction of a Versa-Lok wall. Thus, Mr. Baleno was aware that the driveway he damaged and intended to further damage was not a part of the property owned by the neighbor with whom he had entered into a contract. There is little that is respectful of neighbors or their property, and little that is professional in the behavior of this company in his instance. Exceeding customers? expectations and satisfaction, to the extent of trespassing and destroying the adjacent property of others who are not customers seems to be included in Baleno Concrete's number one goal.

Only received an estimate. Very professional, but the price was the highest among the four estimates received.

All steps of the process went smoothly and professionally. Dominic Baleno is a man who takes great pride in his work and he is an excellent communicator. He answers all questions in a direct and honest manner and does exactly what he promises. Dominic's crew is reliable, hardworking, and competent. Without reservation, I recommend Baleno Concrete (as their promotions state) "for all your concrete needs".

The crew showed up exactly at 7:30 AM as Dominic said they would. In about a 1/2 hour, they had the old steps all taken out and loaded into a dump truck. The work proceeded very quickly and quietly, to my neighbors amazement. They were starting to pour the concrete by the time I had to leave for work. I was very impressed, and the stops look very nice.

I called Dom Baleno for an estimate and he gave me a date and time when he would be able to come out to my home for an estimate. He was very professional in arriving on time and explained to me in detail everything that was going to be done regarding replacing the concrete areas. I was very surprised when he called me in a few weeks to tell me that his crew would be able to come out and performed the work within a two day period 4/1/10 - 4/2/10. This was within 30 days of the estimate. I was trilled that the work would be done before summer and that I would be able use my patio. He and his crew arrived at 7:30 AM on 4/1/10 and finished the job on 4/2/10. They made it a point to watch all landscaping and when they were finished they made sure that they cleaned all the walkways of any dirt. I would gladly have Boleno Concrete come to my home again for any additional work around my home. Also, anyone asking me if I know of a contractor who does professional work......... I would refer them to Boleno! Good Work.....

They came and gave me an estimate and fixed the sidewalk on the side of our house. They also jack hammered up the old sidewalk and replaced it with new concrete and made us a new set of steps for the outside walk.

Baleno was excellent. He was responsive to my initial call, he came to see the job that week, we received his bid 4 days later, and started the job 3 days after we accepted his bid. He was polite, professional, and very knowledgable.

Arrived at appointed time for inspection to prepare bid. Bid received a couple of days later. He was selected based upon bid, which was competitive with several other bids received, and reports on Angie's List. Dominic made some good suggestions on how the work could be done better than previous concrete work. Arrived at scheduled time to do the work, and work was done in a very timely and professional manner. Crew cleaned up after themselves both days of the job. They gave us clear instructions on how to treat the newly installed concrete as it dried. The job looks fantastic. Dominic and all of his workmen were very nice to work with. Would and will use them again -- we have more work which we have put off until next year.

We were really happy with the quality of the work Baleno concrete provided. We had several other companies give us estimates with a number written on the back of their business card! Dominic was very thorough in his estimate noting issues that the other guys overlooked. He also worked with us to keep our new driveway aesthetically equal to our older home. He was more expensive than the other companies but you certainly get what you pay for. We have a very nice home and are glad we put the extra money into making sure our new, very large driveway looked nice but not too obvious.

Wonderful service and very cooperative owner and crew. The project was undertaken to alleviate water pooling in front of the garage and to replace the cracked surface. The initial proposal had to be scrapped when the crew discovered that rain water was being diverted from to the downspout to the ground directly under the driveway causing it to buckle. Dominic created a gully to disperse the water in front of the garage area and allow the water from the downspout to flow evenly over the entire surface. Creative,effective and very professional result.

The job showed exceptional workmanship that far exceeded my expectations. I was very pleased and satisfied. Dominic Belano and his team are a class act!

Everything went well. They were professional and obviously knew exactly what they were doing. Rain was predicted one day and they covered the half they had already poured. Gave us clear instructions on when we could drive on it again. Set up barriers to let others know not to drive or walk on it.

They were good. Everything went fine with them. Their quality was good. They were punctual and professional.

Mr. Baleno was very prompt on giving an estimate. His price was a little higher than competition but I was very impressed with professionalism. We were not disappointed. His team was able to come out a few weeks earlier than anticipated. Mr. Baleno was there at the job. The work was completed quickly and they cleaned up everything. Almost two years later and the stairs look great.

I liked fact that Mr. Baleno returned my phone calls the same day. He scheduled an estimate the following day & arrived on time. He had creative ideas to solve the problems. The work began on time & was completed efficently in 3 days. The finished product is superb & adds to the value of my property.

I picked Baleno because they were very highly rated on Angie's List and we had a great experience. Dominic Baleno responded promptly to my call, came out to give an estimate last Spring, and said he could do the job in the Fall. He called in September as promised. We were unable to take the first slot he offered, but he was very helpful in getting us rescheduled. We were notified of when the crew was arriving and exactly how long it would take (two days). The crew was fast, courteous, and thorough. Overall we were extremely pleased with the quality of the work and the way everything ran smoothly and quickly.

Dominic Baleno visited my residence property to evaluate the job. He thoroughly reviewed with me the scope of the work, the alternatives available to complete the project and the approximate date by the which the job could be started. He promptly submitted a detailed bid, which I accepted. The project required work by a plumber I had engaged. At my suggestion, Mr. Baleno contacted the plumber directly to arrange to coordinate their work on the project. Mr. Baleno contacted me approximately 10 days before he proposed to begin the project (which I was pleased to learn was earlier than he had originally estimated) and confirmed that he would discuss the start date with the plumber. The project started on the day he had designated and was completed within the number of days he had estimated. From my perspective this was a five star performance. Mr. Baleno (who works with his crew as a player/coach) and his crew were courteous, efficient, hard working and considerate. Mr. Baleno calmly and effectively dealt with various unforeseen difficulties which arose during the project. The finish product is excellent. Baleno Concrete would be my first choice for any additional concrete project that I might have in the future.

I had a sink hole, I needed someone with a good reputation. Baleno's did an outstanding job. My driveway is wonderful. They were efficient, knowledgeable and personable. They took the time to explain everything. I found them trustworthy and highly recommend them.

Dominic was not the low or high bid but he was the only one who gave me detailed work that would be completed and explained some concrete talk that I was not familiar with. I had 2 contractors with lower bids who did not want to replace the cheeks walls on the steps, this would have caused me problems every time it rained. The Baleno crew showed up on time the first day of scheduled work. These guys are really efficient. I stayed to write the deposit check and walked out of the house 10 minutes later to find the slab at the top of my steps gone and one of the sidewalk slabs gone. Since I was not home I relied on my neighbors to give me an update. Part of the job included working with the city because I have a city tree on my property. Dominic gave me instructions on exactly what I had to do, provided me phone contact numbers and followed up to make sure everything was on schedule with the city. He took care of getting the city permits for the work for me. Work was completed on time and I can't believe how great my new steps look. They took the time to blend in the new sidewalk with the old; I didn't expect this. I know it doesn't mean anything to the job but an indication of what type company they are, their equipment looks like they drove everything off the showroom. I would highly recommend them for any concrete job and several of my neighbors are considering using them for future projects.

I think the best thing is their responsiveness. They want you to be happy. They are extremely nice about fixing one little crack or chip that can be made better. Much of the job that they did for me was patching, not replacing and what they told me was that it would blend and not match perfectly, but they made it look like the old concrete.
