I originally found out about the company through a church bulletin, so I had no reference to the company or predisposition. I called after hours to schedule an initial appointment, and spoke to one of the owners, Bob, who took the time on the phone to speak to me about my home heating/cooling issues. I called the office within the next two days to schedule an appointment, and the person on the phone was very professional, courteous, and accommodating. We scheduled our appointment. The technician, Jim, called ahead about 10 minutes out to make sure we were ready, and then arrived punctually. He also was very courteous, professional -- and immediately put on booties without even asking. Jim used a camera to carefully inspect the interior of the heating system, and listened to how we have been using the system, and thoroughly cleaned the system. He took the time to show the good & potential areas that may need to be monitored. The same morning after Jim left, one of the other owners, Joe, personally called to review the video of our system - and did NOT put a hard press on selling a new system. However, he gave common sense recommendations, and explained to make sure that our system was safe and usable. All in all, at every point I spoke to a representative of H&H, they were kind, courteous, professional, and compassionate. They genuinely care for not only the comfort of the home, but also the safety, and I appreciated it. The best thing is that if you look at the price, you may think this was an expensive visit. . . actually I chose to sign up with a service agreement, where this $200 covers annual heating & cooling inspection/maintenance -- which really is a good deal, as it costs roughly $90-120 for a service call - and there are other benefits. I look forward to being a long-time customer of H&H.

My aunt initially recommended Hand H; I then checked them out on Angie's List and the BBB. The tune-up went fine. Joe G. arrived on schedule and was very professional. After the tune-up we discussed different service contracts and I selected the Silver Plan.

As usual Joe Hoke and his team did an excellent job. This is the 3rd time we've used them to replace an old worn out system in one of our rental properties. Our properties are tenant occupied so replacement of a system like this has to happen quickly and be well done. We don't want to hear from a tenant a few days after the new heating system is installed that they are still having issues. In this case the property was vacant with a new renter coming in within a few days. We realized the heat was not working, and called H and H to come out and assess the situation. When we heard that it could not be repaired and needed to be replaced we were concerned that it would not be done in time for the new tenant coming in. Joe and his team prioritized our job, and installed the new system in that same week. I really appreciate the effort they made to ensure the work would be done on our schedule.

AWESOME! they are neat clean and professional. They sent over a very knowledgeable person who knew my system even though they don't sell that brand. i would hire them again and i would also refer them to a friend.

Appointment was set for 6 on Tuesday. I left work early to be sure I was home when he got there. NEVER SHOWED UP!!! NO PHONE CALL!! NOTHING!!! Very unprofessional, to say nothing of the waste of my and my husbands time!! Don't understand why we got no call about it at all!!!

I Contacted H and H on Friday, Sept 6th and initially spoke with a women that answered the phone. I told her that I used H and H before and wanted a price on a 40 Gallon Bradford and White Gas Water Heater. She asked if the heater would be vented out through chimney. I said, "no." She then said it would be a power vented unit. She did a little research and came back with a price of $1200.00. I asked some f/u questions and she recommended that I speak with Mike. I spoke with him and we spoke about a tankless unit. He called around for pricing and called me back. After hearing the price, I decided to go with the Bradford and White unit. However, the price had now jumped up $1000 $2200) from what I was originally quoted less than 1 hour before! After he told me the price of $2200, I advised that I was just given a price by his office of $1200. He said that price was for a chimney vented unit, which is much more common, than a power vented unit. My cousin happens to be a plumber and stated that is totally incorrect. The power vented units are much more common, and he was SHOCKED with price that I was quoted. He said the price for the unit plus install should be somewhere between $1100 to $1200. Funny thing is, another company on Angies list is offering the Bradford and White gas, power vented unit + install for $1200. My husband and I have both used H and H in the past, but I will never use them again! I have the feeling that the price jumped up by $1,000 b/c of where I live.

Good communication early on. Arrived on time and completed the job in one day as promised. Some fabrication needed for air handler and it was a decent job. Small air leaks in new duct work but not bad. Explained everything, did a good clean up. Can't be too sure of fairness of price but it was significantly lower than another estimate. Called two weeks later when my other air conditioner went out. Cost $100 for a highly inflated estimate to fix and was quickly told I should just buy a new unit. Got the repair job done by someone else for about 60% of their estimate and it was a good job. I called the office to complain that I was given an inflated estimate. To their credit the boss called me back apologized and refunded me the cost of the estimate. Seemed strange to get a high estimate given that I had just paid them for a $4000 job. I would have expected better under the circumstances. In any even the boss made it right so no real compliant. I'll chalk it up as a reminder to get multiple estimates.

Mike Hoke one of the owners came oner to see the top of the line A/C and the 98% efficient gas efficient. They come back the next week and set up my A/C, I had to call Peco Electric and Henkles McCoy, I had to pay $1958.00 to have a gas line run from the street to my home. H and H would take over for me. The The technicians Godfrey and Cris got right to work and were both professional and talented. Mike would show up from time to time however I'm not sure why it was clear that both men knew their jobs. Mike Hoke mentioned that he would come back to help me set up my Wifi thermometer, never happened when I called hi about it he said he doesn't know how to program Wifi. Then I asked about the cage you can lock around the and asked Godfrey about a discount, he said he would speak to Mike. Now, I am not cheap but when Mike said pay me cash which would bring the amount from $520.00 to and 460.00. I will explain why this upsets, you charged me $6885.00 and $14,775.00, you have some nerve. He has yet to keep his word! Godfrey and Chris need to teach Mike Hoke how to speak to customers!

First of all the sales man was vary professional and on time check the hold house for proper ducting and review changes Services man were on time professional very neat took time and made sure I knew the correct operation of the systems Very happy with what was install and have already had some additional work none which include running a line for gas ranch

I really love the service technician of Hand H Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. He got things done. He was pleasant to work with. The service side was excellent but the office staff has not been so helpful.

They were a very impressive outfit. We saw six outfits, three of which really stood out from the others and Hand H was one of them. The gentleman who came out here for sales was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with. My wife and I both met him and we were impressed with the guy. His name is Harry Ritz and he's got certifications and a world of experience. He was the most personable of all the sale-people we saw . He was an older man and we wanted to give him the business but there was just a better deal from one of the other companies. He even bailed us out of a problem that happened coincidentally when, just after he left, our furnace shut down and wasn't working. He'd given us his cell number and we had him come back. As you might expect he was afraid that we were going to hold him responsible for it, but we were just calling him back because we thought that something may have been disengaged etc. As it turns out, he diagnosed that we had a pump motor that had frozen up and he gave us a very specific diagnosis on it. We have it under contract to another provider so we called them and they came out and fixed it, and that's indeed what was wrong with it. I felt badly about not giving him the business, but we had somebody else who was even better. We had a lot of phone calls back and forth and after they took a message we'd get a call back shortly thereafter. They were an impressive company.

I had an estimate scheduled for a new HVAC system. Sales rep came out (older gentleman) and wasn't that professional-he was more considered about educating us on thermodynamics and giving us his resume rather than selling a new system. My wife actually felt insulted by a few of the comments he made. He did explain the system and gave us a ballpark price but said the proposal would be emailed to me within two days. After 5 or 6 days, phone calls and emails to the company to check on the status of the proposal when unanswered. In the meantime- I was able to get other company to install my new system with a few days from my estimate and sales rep visit with competitive pricing and financing options- We would not have used H and H regardless but the fact that they did not answer my calls or emails and that the sales rep was unprofessional-- LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR HEATING AND AC NEEDS.

I did like the person Hand H sent out, and things seemed to be going well. I got one quote for a gas boiler, and then I expressed an interest in a high-efficiency gas boiler. The second quote I got included the quote for the original gas boiler, but the price had gone up by $700 on that one for some reason. Then I asked for a Manual J to make sure they were quoting the right size furnace, and the man I was working with said his laptop was getting updated with new software to conduct the Manual J, and that he'd call back to schedule it, which he never did. So it wasn't a horrible experience, but the combination of the changing quote and the lack of follow-up was enough to make me look elsewhere.

Price was competitive and workmanship OK. However, required several return trips since they did not appear to initially know New Castle, DE building codes and had to make repairs. In the end all was satisfactory

Everything went well, but I felt as though I was sold an unnecessary service with regards to the maintenance plan. Furthermore, when it came time to replace the heater, they wanted to charge nearly $2000.00 more than their competitor for the same product.

e price for the service contract was reasonable

The experience was fine overall. The technicians werevery responsive and reliable, arriving on time and as scheduled. Their price was a lot cheaper than other companies. They didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need. They were clean too, they even put booties on their feet.

The quality of the work and attention to detail were excellent. Mike Hoke answered my many questions prior to the work. The installation team, led by Godfrey, did a careful and thorough job. Godfrey even had to drill through two very thick stone walls to install the intake and exhaust pipes. Because we needed to have the furnace completely installed and functional by a specific date, Godfrey and Jason worked until 8:00 pm one evening to complete that part of the job. In all, they worked a full work week to clean the ducts and then install the HVAC system plus hot water heater. They were focused and methodical and cleaned up after themselves every day. When they finished, Godfrey also very kindly taught me how to change the new filters in the electronic filtration system. Mike Hoke followed up by sending Bryant the proof of installation needed for the warranty, and sent me the information needed for the tax credit and rebates. I recommend Hand H most highly in all respects. I received estimates from four companies, and consider Hand H the most reliable, experienced and capable, and responsive. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. They were excellent.

Grossly inflated charges for change orders. Would not resolve a problem with a circulator pump and would not service the equipment once it was installed.
