I wanted 12 windows made and installed for two apartment units. In the newspaper was an ad where Window World stated they offered windows installed for $220.00. I called Window World to have them measure the windows in one of the units (that needed six windows) and someone named Brad arrives. He states one of the windows will be $255.00 because it's larger and would be a slider window. I tell him that's fine. So there's one window at $255.00 and five windows at $220.00 per window. He sits down to write the estimate and I'm shocked to see all the bologna add-on fees that weren't stated in the ad: -One tempered DH sash: $150.00 -A $240 "lead safe containment fee" ($40.00 per window) -Lifetime glass breakage guarantee ($7.00 per window = $42.00) -A job fee: $150.00 A job fee? Total B.S.. I have had windows installed in the past and there was no job fee. If I'm buying $1400.00 worth of windows - a job fee is ridiculous. I also told Brad I wanted to keep the old windows (my mom is an artist and paints old windows). Yet the bogus lead safe contaminant fee (which window companies I had dealt with in the past don't charge) wasn't removed; nor was the glass breakage guarantee, which I didn't ask for nor need. If a window breaks the tenant can pay for it. We told Brad we'd pay $1400.00 for the windows installed because that's what was advertised and he claimed there was no way his boss would do that. When I later spoke with Window World the woman on the phone told me Brad wasn't even an employee of Window World - he's an independent contractor who does estimates, shows up at the Window World office, drops off paperwork (estimates) and leaves. I chose a window company I had used in the past - the price was cheaper than Window World and includes window capping (oh, yeah - Window World wanted $75 per capped window) and no bogus job fee, lead contaminant fee, DH sash or glass breakage fees.

They came to give an estimate to replace the big window, which had a broken seal and had mildew growing between the panes. When the price of the window was about half of what I expected, I also ordered the new deck door. Both together were what I expected to pay for just the window. They came when they said they would. The removed the old window and door, and installed the new ones. When they were done they cleaned up after themselves. When I came home they were cleaning and packing up. I noticed a small hole in one of the screens. They immediately took it out and replaced it with a new screen. The new window and door look fabulous ! Much easier to clean (tilt out window) than my old ones :) Very happy with Window World !!

Very highly recommend. I wasn't sure how good the work would be since they planned to install 15 windows in one day. However, I couldn't have been more wrong. There were only two workers, but the work was done quickly, they did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. The workers were pleasant to deal with as well. The windows are all level. The only comment I would make is that after the first cold snap this year the windows had moisture on them. This was nothing to be concerned about as I thought it might be. The reason has more to do with how well the windows are working, rather than cold getting in.

salesman was very nice and informative about product, but not to forth-coming about installation procedure. I ASSUMED most ot the work would be done from the outside. I had taller windows and the complete installation (including capping ) was done from the inside. You will definitey want to have area cleared out by windows. they did clean up very well after they were done. I noticed other reports commenting on inside trim dissatisfaction. Nobody mentioned they reuse the existing trim (at least on my job) . On a couple windows they broke the trim taking it off to install the window-they still put it back on and caulked the crack, but it didn't look to bad. I had arranged for installation on a certain date - I thought they would call a day or 2 before the installation to verify. I waited till 8:30 that morning and called them. They said they would be at my house @ 9:30. (poor communications) .Even with the late start and with only a 2 man crew , they did all 15 windows in 1 day. I thought it would take at least 2 or 3 days. Have your questions ready to ask becausethey do not volunteer information !

A good job.Overall, the experience was ok. The quality of the windows was ok, the crew did a good job overall. the only problem we had was there seemed to be a communication problem between the sales person who measured, and what the crew expected when they arrived. They had to do much more work to make the windows fit. They also did not do a good job fitting the trim back together, so we called them back for a second visit. Then they did a better job. The widows are good for the price, they fell in the middle of the range we looked at. We hope they hold up over the years.

Ultimately we were happy with them. They replaced 13-14 windows. The outside of 2-3 of the windows were sloped toward the inside and not the outside, so I had to call and get them back to redo them to slope them toward the outside as the rain was coming back toward the window instead of draining away. They came back and fixed them. They worked with me as I have several stray cats and had to keep them from going to the open windows once they were taken out. They worked with me. A couple of the guys were talking about things I thought were inappropriate as they were talking about their personal lives and I could hear them. I give them high ratings and will continue to use them in the future.

We received a quote from Larry Temple, owner, on September 29th, 2011. He measured all of our windows 7 gave a presentation on why we should buy from Window World. He was not pushy. We asked a lot of questions and received honest answers. There was some question as to whether we should get a casement window replacement for the kitchen window or go with a slider. Larry was able to tell us the benefits of each type and gave his recommendation. A week later, we called him to confirm our order. He set an appointment to go over the paperwork. Window World requires half of the total cost as a down payment. Larry told us that we could expect our windows in November or early December. Our windows arrived in early November. We scheduled an installation on November 4th. A two person team arrived on time to install our windows. The installation took about 3-4 hours. Each window was removed, the new one set in place and caulked, and then the area was cleaned up. The team made sure that they neatly removed the windows and cleaned up the area after installation. When all of the windows were installed, we were taken to each window to inspect it. Once we were satisfied with each window, we sat down for the final payment. Some time in early January (I don't remember the exact date) I thought that I was having some issues with my windows. I called Window World. My concerns were taken seriously and I was promised a call soon. Within 2 hours, a technician called about my concerns. He made an appointment for about an hour later. He showed up at the scheduled time and checked out all my concerns. I thought that one of my windows wasn't sealing properly. It turned out that the top window had slid down a little and the window wasn't latching properly. All we had to do was push the top window back into place, latch the window, and the problem was solved. The technician said that this was a common issue when people first get the new windows. Also, I had condensation on the windows each morning right where the top and bottom window met. The technician said that there was too much humidity in my home. I do have a humidifier on the furnace. I turned it down a bit and the condensation problems went away just as the technician said they would. Overall, I am pleased with the windows and the service from Window World.

None of the workers just stood around. They came in, got the job done, cleaned up very well and left. Quick and efficient. Because they did such a great job I now have a contract to replace 2 of my main floor windows. These 2 windows will be the same as the upstairs windows but also include the gas between the panels. I did not get the protective coating on either window because neither window will get the hot summer sun. I am replacing both of these windows because I could not open either of the existing windows. Not only is that a fire hazard, but I want to be able to get a breeze through the house on summer evenings, to help cool the rooms off without using the main floor air conditioning. I realize that doing this in multiple installations is costing me more, because of their $150.00 fee per invoice/job. To me it is worth it because I can budget appropriately so I don't have to borrow, remove from savings, or go without!
Description of Work: I had 6 upstairs bedroom windows replaced with their least expensive double hung windows. Because I had not planed on using these rooms very often I did not get the extras that are available. I did buy the exterior trim. I am very satisfied with the job they did and feel I made the right choice. The salesman came out, measured the windows and gave me a written bid. He explained all of my options very well. When the job was finished I was given a "lesson" on how to do this and that. They also left me some printed information. The only thing I should mention is don't touch the sealant around the glass. It is still wet! Ask me how I found that out!

It was a painless experience. I was surprised how quickly they could get the old windows out and the new windows in. THe new windows greatly enhanced the looks and value of our home. The crew were on time, quiet and they left no messes. We were very happy with them and we would recommend them.

They showed up before the time scheduled which was a plus for me considering i had things planed for later that day, they arrived with 3 people and got started immediately, they laid plastic down around all windows so stuff did not go everywhere in my house, one started in my living room one upstairs and the other in my kitchen. they were very efficient and told me exactly what was going on with my windows even the one that was broke coming off the truck they ordered one before they left the job. they were there 4 hours for 11 windows that was great and they cleaned up everything they did they were very respectful of my house and property, When they left they told me to call to set up an appointment to have someone come out and replace the broken sash this is where some of the problem occurred the woman in the office was very disgruntled towards me hung up on me before i was finished talking with her and very rude like i was bothering her during her break.....the overall experience was good my problem lied with the office personnel...need to get people that are polite to customers calling in.....

We used Window World to replace our sun room windows in 2008 and they have been holding up very well - so we decided to use them again. A crew of 3 showed up in the morning and got right to work. By the afternoon, all 14 windows were done with new, aluminum trim work and caulking. The men worked very well together and had the process well organized. From experience with the previous windows, these same material have held up well and clean easily. I have two complaints on the workmanship. 1) When replacing the molding inside, corners were not lined up. My house is almost 100 years old, so I'm going to write this off to old house shifting and replace the molding with new wood. 2) Exterior aluminum trim on three windows was installed so that the exterior sill slants inward. This causes rain water to run toward the window and into the drain hole at the bottom of the window frame. Of course, when the water dries out, dirt from the rain is left on the sill. I called over a month ago to have them come back and correct the problem. My message was forwarded and I was called back so I could describe my concerns, but no one has come by to look at the windows as promised. Apparently we will need to call them again. 8/23/2011 (Day after posting above review) - Window World called me today before I called them! (Co-incidence?) They came out this morning and replaced the trim so that water drains off properly...but the guy with the caulk did a sloppy job. I'll tear the caulk out and replace it when it dries, but at least the trim work is fixed.
