If you need a house insulated with blown-in insulation, this is your guy. Not only is he prompt, friendly and knowledgeable, but he's also got the uncanny ability create a 3D image of any structure in his head, which he then uses to fill every nook, cranny and void in the house with insulation, packing it so tight that there are literally no empty spaces left anywhere - roof, walls, stairwells, around windows, etc. It's amazing to watch, and I've seen him do it on every job he does (he's done several for me over the years). I know this because we had to take a sheet of drywall down after he had insulated behind it, and the insulation was packed in so tight that it maintained its position until we could put the drywall back up - not a light spot or a hole anywhere in it. He's also very good about staying in touch, with almost daily calls to keep the homeowner updated on status and how the job is going. He will take on jobs no one else will and he does them exceptionally well. His prices are competitive and he gets the job done in the best amount of time possible. Paul took a huge old 1860s Colonial that had not a stitch of insulation in it anywhere and changed it from a drafty old barn into a warm, cozy, quiet home, on a good budget and in a reasonable amount of time. I would recommend him 100%!

I had purchased a big old house that did not have a stitch of insulation in it anywhere and I wanted to begin by making it habitable in the wintertime. I started looking for a professional because it was too big a job for my handyman, and I found Paul Miller. He is a small outfit, just him and sometimes one helper, which means that he did 95% of the work himself. Paul initially came in and took a good deal of time measuring the house and poking around in the attic and basement, getting a good idea of how the house measured out. It is an older house with many nooks and crannies and it was going to be a huge, involved job so I was glad he took his time doing it. Then he came to me with his numbers and we walked around the house and discussed at length what he was going to do and the price of the completed work. We agreed on the price and the time frame and he started the job a couple of weeks later. He worked about six hours a day, coming in early most days before anyone else got there. He took his time, packing the insulation firmly in each section of the walls, doorways and framework around the windows. Because of the thick construction of the house walls he had to drill most of his holes on the inside, and he was always very careful to drill his holes as small and as unobtrusively as he could so he did the least amount of damage possible. He checked with me every step of the way and made sure I knew what drilling the holes in the walls would entail as he was concerned about the finished work. I told him I was redoing every wall in the house so he could have at it. Paul blew in insulation in the stairwells, under the attic floorboards, under the stairs leading up to the attic, inside every cubic inch of each wall and window frame, and even places I had not thought about. He was careful and methodical and didn't rush the job at all. He cleaned up after himself every afternoon and was always careful to work respectfully around the other contractors who were there, making sure to schedule each room with them so he would not make their work more difficult. He also fussed about repairing the holes in all the walls and made sure they were done right. The only problem I had with any of the work was what the young man did who was supposed to be helping, and Paul got upset because the kid was not doing the job good enough, fired him, and did the remaining work himself. The work was finished almost on time, the only reason it wasn't is because Paul had some family health issues happen during the job that took him away a couple of times. He was concerned that this would make me unhappy but I assured him it did not, and since the house was not going to be ready to move in to it was not a problem for me. He was very careful to always let me know when he was having problems meeting his deadlines and discussed them with me every step of the way. When the job was done he cleaned up the place very nicely and took all of his trash and detritus with him. He also walked me through the house again and showed me exactly what he had done, which was very impressive. He made sure I was happy with everything and has since checked back with me again to make sure I was still happy. I mentioned to him this last time that one of the bedrooms on the second floor had a cold area on the floor over the porch, and he immediately came and looked at it and then scheduled a time to come back and get it done when it was convenient for me. Other than that the house is warm and snug, with no cold areas, drafts anywhere or any other issues. I am very pleased with the job Paul did and I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is honest, reliable and works like a man half his age, and he guarantees his work and the satisfaction of his customers. It was well worth the money and I am now living in my warm, cozy house and thanking Paul every day! I could not be happier with the job that was done and I will continue to use Paul Miller Insulators for all this type of work in the future.
