Three many crew arrived at scheduled time and carefully and professionally moved household items as discussed in an hour and a half less time than estimated. Would highly recommend and would definitely hire again.

Guys were AWESOME! Friendly,quick and professional. Best money I ever spent. Would highly recommend and would go to them again.

Things went very well until the they forgot to take a bookcase which was marked to go. The contact person at J. H. Bennett would not my phone calls or voice messages. It took awhile to find a person who would correct the problem. Finally I was connected to a person who took care of the problem.

They were very accommodating and fit us in their schedule last minute. They were professional and showed up on time. They loaded the truck quickly and protected all furniture. They were very personable and we are completely happy with them and would recommend them.

We arranged the move over the phone and got an estimate of the cost. A few days before the move, George called us to confirm our time slot. The day of the move we got a call letting us know they were on the way over. The move went great. The two guys that did the actual moving were very courteous, friendly and professional. They worked quickly and carefully. It took about 3 hours for the move.

First of all, a move of 385 miles is very stressful. The packers and supervisors from J H Bennett were all very nice and fun to be around. I am disabled, so there was not much I could do ahead of time to pre- pack or organize before the move as my husband was already working at his job in Indiana. The person who came to bid the job told me that for the goods to be insured, everything would have to be packed by their staff, so I did not worry too much about it. I have a small art business. Some of my tools and other equipment were already in the garage in large totes, separated by the art form they are meant for. I also have a sewing studio with fabrics, yarn, many tools, etc. My sister lives with my husband and I, she had her belongings stored in totes in the garage, separated and organized by types of items. Most of the kitchen, dining room, books were packed fine. The wife of the owner did an exceptional and thoughtful job of packing my doll collection and sewing supplies . But when it came to unpacking my tools, sets of quilting rulers, I have still not found everything. Why breakup a set of 6 templets into different boxes? I had an antique frame loom in a tote bag. The frame has been located in one box, the other components were in two other boxes. And to separate these items because it would have been a matter of space is just bullsh!t. From the items stored in the garage, I had a Dremel drill mounted in a drill press. I have found the drill, drill press, and bits in 4 different boxes. I had asked that and quot;likeand quot; things be kept together. My sisters items from the garage are a total mess. Books divided, CD's divided, her yarn divided, clothing divided, now all jumbled together. This is just not right. Specific instructions were given as to how to handle my husbands studio that were not followed. An antique side table arrived with the top smashed because heavier items had been placed on top of it. We opened a tote to find that an antique stoneware crock, worth over $200 had been wrapped in only a few sheets of paper, and had been shipped with two iron pots next to it that were unwrapped, and no other paper to protect the crock from the movement of the iron during shipping. The antique crock arrived in pieces. Some of the packers did great, thoughtful work. Others, just seemed to rush through and not give a d***. The movers were fully aware of the complexity of the move at the time the job was bid. I chose them because they seemed to have the best handle on what we needed. Ours was not an easy household to move. However, I do think some things could have been done much, much better. When it came to the claims process, another nightmare began. The first claim went through without a problem. The second claim, as we continued to unpack (it took us 3 months due to my husband's schedule and my illness) we found more damages. One of my sample wedding gowns had a hole in the train, an enameled sculpture of an Egret was chipped, another item was missing all together from the shipment. When we had arrived in Indiana, the driver had us sign off on the inventory, claiming that this showing that all of the boxes had arrived. CAUTION: do not sign this document until you have unpacked everything, no matter what pressure you get from the driver. By signing the document you are accepting that every item IN the boxes has arrived too, even if you have not had a chance to unpack everything. I could have gone through arbitration to get the value of my statue, but for what it was worth, and what I deal with every day, it wasn't worth the literal headache it has been to deal with the United Van Lines head office. Communication with J H Bennett was very good. The claims office was as helpful as they could be accept for an apology for what went wrong, when it came to getting through the bureaucracy of United's claims office. It has taken me a long time to think about finishing this review. My recommendation is that if you can pack yourself, do it. If you are having packers, supervise, or have people in each area supervise the packers. Where we were present, the packing went better. Where we were absent, it was a mess. Moving is no fun, this was not my first major move either. But it was the worst.

They moved my things to 1403 but they took my things too 14003. They said that they were here for 3 hrs. but I was charged for 4.5 hrs. I showed them the bill, and paid them right then and he wrote me a nasty note and was asking for more money. I would definitely not use this company! Stay away!

Very smoothly. Everything was done professionaly and on time.

I was very satisfied with the move. The crew was very professional and friendly. They put a lot of thought and effort into my move and how they organized all my furniture, bins, and boxes. The move and set up into my new home went well and the crew worked very hard. They were great! The only bit of advice that I would give others is that if you buy a front load washer to please save the locking mechanisms that are in the washer when it's delivered. That was the only problem I had--trying to secure the drum for my washer. But I ultimately had no problems with how it was delivered to my new home and I've had no problems with my washer since the move.

Their workers were very efficient and quick. They didn't waste time talking. They just got to the job, and got it done. They fit me in on a short notice, and were on time. I would use Bennett again.
