First of all I have rented several times in my life (military) and have never NOT received my entire security deposit. I do not smoke, I dont own pets, I lived in the apartment alone and basically only slept there. They refused me an end site walk through and did their own walkthrough and video posted to youtube. (DO NOT LET THEM DO A WALK THROUGH WITHOUT YOU PRESENT). The video showed several extremely petty "scuffs" (their words). These scuffs were not visible to my eyes or my wife's (she came up to help me move out). We were beyond shocked when we received the bill for $320 to repaint the place and $100 to clean when the place was immaculate. I protested in writing that if anything these scuffs were not nicks and did not impact the integrity of the paint or drywall- and amounted to "normal wear and tear". They said because I lived their only one year that the microscopic scuffs were beyond normal wear and tear. It is really laughable. Apparently, this is a common practice for Palermo based on other reviews that I have seen. BEWARE. Also- completely inadequate snow removal. Very difficult to get out in the winter. And finally, the smoke detectors are unreachable. Most people living in apartments do not have ladders and home equipment, etc. They were going to charge me to borrow a ladder. Again BEWARE. I do not recommend.

Management is incredibly poor. Snow removal was always delayed and required inquiry. Palermo kept a significant portion of my security deposit when no damage was present beyond normal wear and tear. They were unable to produce still images of the disputes. Rather, they sent me a link to a youtube video that was a blur and included minor damages initially reported on move in that were never corrected. I spoke with several other prior tenants and this is a common problem. My advice is to avoid dealing with this company at all costs.
