+ -1 moreNightmare experience all around. Painter didn't cover windows, then thoroughly scratched 24 panes of 100+ yr old wavy glass removing paint overspray. Windows are totally ruined and will require a costly replacement. He was supposed to reglaze those windows but instead just used caulking and then painted over it and it looks like a 10 yr could have done a better job. Did not adequately scrape or do the prep work required on the wood siding. Painted vertically in the middle of horizontal boards. Left large drips and runs. Skipped areas. Painted over debris. Sloppy painting and left a mess all around the house. The list goes on and on. Company owner refused to come out and look at the issues. Just wanted his money. Said it is "just an old farmhouse." (This "old farmhouse" won a preservation award a few yrs ago....) Never an apology for the damage or inconvenience. We withheld final payment and requested they send a different painter who tried his hardest to make good on the damage done. Finally had to get Sherwin Williams rep to come and tell the company owner that there were definitely areas that still needed addressed. This has gone on for a couple of months. Would never recommend this company.

+ 2 moreMy husband called Dennis at the Erie location and then Dennis had someone from the Meadville office call my husband back the next day. A man from the Meadville office came to our Meadville home the very next day and discussed the work we wanted done, looked over the job, took measurements etc.. About a week later Braendel sent us a proposal with a price quote for $13,500 to prepare and paint our detached 2 car garage and 1100 square ft Craftsman style bungalow home that is 1 1/2 stories in front and 2 1/2 stories in back (land slopes down behind the house) with a body that is aluminum sided and all wood trim, and also has a full front porch. We did want them to paint the aluminum siding as well as all the wood trim along with some minor miscellaneous repairs to the siding. I have no idea if $13,500 is high or not for what they were going to do but we personally just didn't feel comfortable with that price and the LACK of detail outlined in the proposal (didn't even list what brand of paint was to be used) so we went with a different local painter who gave us a proposal that had EVERY little detail outlined in it (including estimated materials and estimated labor) for $8,500 which includes the exact same job in a 4 color scheme using Sherwin Williams Prime RX Peel Bonding primer and Sherwin Williams Resilience Satin Paint as well as adding "Emulsa-bond" to the first coat of paint being sprayed onto the aluminum siding. I will review the painter we chose after the job is completed this late spring 2016.

+ -1 moreThey are generally good workers. You pay a little more but the work is excellent and worth it. My only criticism is that I felt I was encouraged to keep my basement doors when I felt like I should swap them out. The quality of the work is very good. If something isn't right they will come back out and fix it for you.

Description of Work: Started with interior painting of a house we plan to move into. We were so pleased that we employed him to remodel several bathrooms and bedrooms. Again because of the professional outcome of his work we employed Braendal to remodel the kitchen, family room, dining room and living areas. The work is methodical with the same workers arriving and leaving in a punctual and professional manner. each day they leave the house a little nicer than hen they started.

+ -1 moreI had a large piece of facia rip off during a sevear wind storm. it had stayed attached at one end and had wrapped itself around a vent on my roof. It made a sot of noise adn was in a position to cause more damage. I called several contractors that Saturday but Braendel was the only one to reply qiickly. Since the weather was getting worse, a quick response was very important to me. They came out, worked up an estimate on the spot and had the whole situation resolved that same day. The quick action on their part was worth the cost alone. The father and son team they sent out took pride in their work and it showed.
Description of Work: Remove a large peice of facia that was attached on one end and was wrapped around a vent and flying in the wind. They repaired the damage it had done to the gutter, secured the remaining section and replaced the damaged section. They checked for other loose sections.

+ -1 moreI would not recomend them for ANY work. They did not correct their mistakes and didn't take me seriously when I was venting my dissaproval.
Description of Work: We hired them to add on to our existing house a wheelchair accesible bathroom and walk-in closet. From the start of the foundation to the so called copmpletion they have made many mistakes. We stopped the workers several times and pointed out the things they did wrong and requested them to be fixed before continuing with the work. When they tore down a few layers of the foundation I thought they were correcting the mistake but it turns out the foundation was the wrong height to tie into the existing floor. I told them to "make it right" but they didn't fix that issue. The next major error was to make a ramp up into the shower as the wheelchair entry. Someone who isn't disabled would find this a treacherous incline to step out onto. We forced them to stop even before they layed the tile but it was not corrected. I also hired them to take out mold on two rooms in a couple corners. That was done by scraping out the walls and replastering them and then repainting the whole rooms. When they painted the rooms they switched the paint lids and one of the rooms was painted the wrong color. they repainted but there are bubbles in the paint and roller marks on the sealing. There are two different shades of paint in the closet. They also installed shelves and clothes rods in the closet but didn't anchor them into studs and as soon as the clothes were hung they pulled out of the walls within a few hours. There are gouge marks as well as holes where they hung the shelves. They have not finished the trim in the bathroom or installed the handicap bar around the toilet area in the wrong position. They have failed to have their final inspection for their work and have been sent several violation notices which have gone unanswered.

+ -1 moreThe 2 workers came and the first day and cut the hole and installed the roof boot in all of 10 minutes and then within 15 minutes it started to rain. They opened a bag of cement and left it oput in the rain, went into their truck and sat in the truck all day until about 3pm when they left. The second day after sitting in their truck during an early rain they finally started smearing on cement in mortars and over sides of bricks, neaver cleaned out the joints, never worked on chimney, never cleaned, never matched even close to old mortar. One guy said he wasn't a mason but went about smearing on cement here and there as he walked around the building nonethe less. They said they were done left at about 3pm. We complained and without contacting us the one worker came back and started cleaning off the debris they left with water, which didn't help much and admitted they didn't have a saw to cut out the loose joints which would have been the proper way to do the work..... we got about 6-7 hours in all at best. He also said they had been given 3 days to do the work......We complained to the BBB and went through the whole process unresolved. Dennis Braendel refused to come look at the job ever and refused to refund any part of our money. The roof continues to leak as the work never did fix it....it is in fact the roof. Big waste of our time and money. We are very upset and plan to go to court. Their customer service was zero. Would never ever call, or use them for anything. Update....Took them to small claims court and won. They finally paid us back about a month later.
Description of Work: We called for a leak in the roof next to a Chimneythrough garage and Dennis Braendel came out and did not think it was the roof but that a part of the outside wall needed tuckpointing. We asked for an ewstimate on tuckpointing the spot and a few small areas around the house. The contract called for: 1. removing loose mortor joints around back side of chimney on garage and around old downspout locations; 2. cleaning out joints; 3. repointing to match open other areas; 4. run a vent through roof with new boot to vent already installed bathroom vent out roof; and 100% clean-up

+ 1 moreWE HIRED THEM TO PUT IN A NEW TUB SURROUND, TUB FAUCET AND SHOWER , PUT IN WAINSCOTING AROUND THE BATH AND PAINT THE ROOM. THEY USED WAINSCOTTING MARKED " NOT TO BE USED IN WET AREAS" AND USED NAILS THAT ARE NOW RUSTING. THE RUSTING TOPS ARE SHOWING THRU THE PAINT SO THE WALL LOOKS LIKE IT HAS THE MEASLES. THEY PUT IN A NEW SHOWER HEAD THAT LEAKED AT FIRST BUT WAS FIXED AFTER WE CALLED AND COMPLAINED ABOUT HAVING WATER IN ONE OF OUR CLOSETS. AFTER A SHORT TIME OUR PIPES STARTED BANGING WHENEVER WE TURNED THE SHOWER OFF. WE CALLED A PLUMBER WHO TOLD US WE HAD A BAD TUB FIXTURE AND THAT WE NEEDED A NEW ONE. SINCE THIS WAS A NEW FIXTURE JUST INSTALLED BY BRAENDEL WE CALLED THEM. THEY SENT OVER A RON DAWES WHO AGREED IT WAS A PROBLEM AND NEEDED TO BE FIXED. NOW I HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER 4 MONTHS FOR IT TO BE FIXED. IT SEEMS THEY ARE TOO BUSY TO BE BOTHERED WITH FIXING THE PROBLEM.
