Description of Work: We needed minor repairs on 6 different doors in our house including replacement of weatherstripping, sweep, and repair or replacement of door hardware. We also needed to replace a broken mirrored closet door. John provided a detailed estimate including materials. He showed up at the scheduled time and went right to work. Upon further investigation, he realized that he could repair the existing hardware which saved $400.00 off of the original estimate. He was able to repair everything except for the weather stripping under two doors- he took one of the pieces with him to see if he could find a replacement and we paid him for the work- $528.00 instead of the original estimate of $1,250.00. He called a couple of days later and said that he was unable to find a match for the bottom of the door weather stripping so he replaced the original and repaired what he could. Only complaint was that I didn't receive material receipts- I forgot to ask so the material cost seemed a bit high.

+ -1 moreContractor came and gave estimate day he was called 5/4/2009. Discussed work to be done, estimate given, agreed on price, given deposit and told us he would complete job within two weeks. Called at 8:30AM on 5/13/09 arrived about 10:30AM with several laborers. Worked independently but did tell us one side of roof needed replaced and he could do that today for an additional $ 1700.00. I feel he should have climbed-up and looked at roof during estimate instead of trying to extend job on day of initial project. Did take some "short-cuts" like running boiler vent thru access panel also we noticed light leaking through roof. We notified contractor and he repaired prior to rain leaking-in.
Description of Work: Remove two brick chimmneys then vent boiler out roof, fix wind damaged shingles (5).
