Stump's Decks and Porches

I cannot say enough good things about Stump's. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. The communication between the staff and the workers was wonderful. I never once felt like I was out of the loop. Our deck had been a thorn in our side since the day we bought our house and we could not wait for Stump's to tear it down and build a new one. They far exceeded our expectations and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE our new deck!! It is gorgeous and has added so much value to our home. Thank you to the wonderful crew of Stump's!!

Great service, communication and craftsmanship. We knew from the initial visit with Anthony, that we were choosing the right company to complete our project. We had some setbacks with the township which delayed the project a little but Stumps kept us informed along the way of every new development. When the crew arrived we found them to be polite, professional, and skilled. They cleaned up meticulously each day when they left. We are very satisfied with the whole experience and would definitely use them again if the opportunity arises.

From start to finish, the folks at Stump's Quality Decks treated us with utmost professionalism. The process from start to finish was of a quality that we could not ask any more of. Excellent craftsmanship and they were on time each and every day. Clean-up was complete at the end of each day and especially at the completion of the work they did. We had quotes from 5 different contractors and although Stumps was not the cheapest - they were also not the most expensive in their quote. But we are so happy we chose them to do our deck.

Stump’s did wonderful work, from start to finish. Anthony Hurst came out initially to discuss what we were looking for. He provided various options and created a rough draft which he emailed to us in a timely manner, and quickly made a slight change as requested. The estimate that Stump’s offered was the most deck for the least cost out of several estimates we received. They also were the most matter-of-fact, no pressure, easy to work with from the start. Options were clearly presented and how the process would unfold, once we accepted their estimate, was clear. When the deck was actually built, their team was obviously practiced, well-disciplined, and exemplified the utmost in both professionalism and craftsmanship. I could go on and on about their fine craftsmanship. Watching their building process - their efficient attention to detail at every step of construction - was above and beyond what I would want to see from every home professional I hire. They were very professional in going the extra lengths to anchor the bottom of the deck stairs in the concrete of the patio below, per the township’s inspector’s demands. And when the deck was complete, their cleanup was above and beyond. I am so impressed with Stump’s work that I wish they could teach other home professionals classes in craftsmanship and professionalism.

It is rare to find a company that is as professional and polished as Stumps. From Anthony's initial visit to Gary and his team's final completion, the process to re-deck my wide rear deck with Azek was first rate. The price was very competitive, the workmanship was spot on, and all involved were courteous and friendly. The crew worked nonstop. There was no loud music, goof off behavior or slackers. All knew there jobs and Gary, the foreman and a co-owner, patiently answered my many questions. The only recommendation I might offer to readers of this review is to contact Stumps early in your contractor search. Stumps is very busy and there will likely be a wait time. It's worth it. :)

Stump’s gave me the best quote out of the four companies that came out to give me an estimate. Kirsten who handled the project was responsive and informative. The crew came out when expected and worked in a timely manner. They even finished a day earlier than expected (3 days instead of 4). I would definitely recommend this company to anyone and would use them again.

Great! Very good company. Super fast. Not cheap, but the bid was lower than the other I had and included higher quality materials. Calvin, in charge of the build, was great. Anthony in sales was very helpful and responsive. When finished there was one small aesthetic element I wasn’t satisfied with, and they came out immediately and redid it according to my request.

Absolutely great. Arrived on time, performed task efficiently & cleaned up completely. Allowed me to make minor changes to the design that for me improved the usability of the area below the deck. I recommended Stumps to my daughter who had her deck replaced also!

From the time the first group arrived for the removal of the existing deck and porch & the second team arrived to construct the deck and porch, the job was completed in 8 working days. They were courteous, cleaned up the site everyday when they were done, & never hesitated to ask if they had a question. Their work is beautiful & they pay attention to the smallest detail. We are beyond pleased with their work & would highly recommend them. They have already arranged to come back in two weeks to do another inspection of the project. Outstanding in every way!

We are so happy with our new deck! Anthony came to our house to give us an estimate. I had many ideas and he also offered ideas. He sent me 3D drawings along with an estimate and stayed in touch with me. We couldn't be happier with our new deck. It is beautiful. Gary and his team were great. The old deck was taken down and removed completely in one day. Our neighbors couldn't believe it. We had a lot of rain but our deck was completed even earlier than expected. The men were all very professional and kind. They cleaned the working area every day before leaving. I knew we were in good hands from day one and would HIGHLY recommend them. I had no idea who to contact for constructing a deck and went online to Angie's list and that is how I found them and am very glad I did!

From the first meeting, Stump's was very professional and provided examples of materials and photos of previous work to give us the best visual of how we could design our deck. The quote provided by Stump's was detailed and included 3D modeling of the proposed work to really sell the visual of the work to be preformed. Stump's handled all the permit requirements with the township and worked quickly and efficiently with dealing with the HOA approval. Stump's completed the job in less than 3 weeks (including weather delays). The were in constant communication when weather delays did occur. They did good quality work. I would definitely hire them again! Stump's built a beautiful low maintenance deck that met all of our specifications.

It was a good experience. We didn't choose them to do the work; they put in a bid that was higher than we wanted. They gave us a pretty good quality quote; they gave us a bunch of detailed information and they were very responsive. We might look to them again, to get an estimate for something else.

Excellent. They are very busy so book in advance, but they did start the job earlier than scheduled and finished it quickly. Very smooth transaction and build from start to finish.

They chose two fair winter days, did a perfect job and completed it a little ahead of time. The quality of the workmanship and the finished product couldn't be improved upon. Also the young men were very pleasant.

Everyone at Stump's was very professional with the entire project. Anthony came as scheduled. He answered all of our questions and offered some of his own suggestions. He provided some quick overview layouts and after a few emails back and forth we came up with a deck that met our needs and wants. Mark was the next person out and he took our deck down in four hours. The site was cleaned up and ready for Gary and his crew. We felt bad because they were here working in temperatures that were in the 20's. They included us in every step of the construction. Provided pictures of what the steps would look like. This was a big concern to us since we didn't want the steep steps that normally come with decks. Gary addressed all of our concerns and two and a half days later we had a finished deck. Again the site was cleaned up. They were mindful of our landscape and it all survived. The work is top notch. Everything is straight and level. Right now we are waiting for warm weather so we can enjoy it and to see how it thaws out. The price was very compatible with the other quotes that we got. Follow up communication with Stump's was excellent even after the job was finished.

Great overall experience starting with Anthony our sales rep who was very informative and helped us designing our new deck to the work crew and foreman who were very professional and did excellent work. We ran into a slight problem during construction but it was handling quickly and very professionally. We absolutely love our new deck and the quality is superb and the cost was extremely competitive. You can't go wrong with Stump's and we would highly recommend them to anyone.
