Description of Work: Hand-carved rails to match an existing Victorian porch; installed;painted

Description of Work: Replacement of 19 electrical sockets, and several wall switches. Two coats of lacquer paint on ceiling of screened -in porch area. He painted stained ceiling tiles in second floor bedroom. He replaced door from garage to mud room, with solid, strong door, as opposed to hollow, broken door that was there. He disposed of broken door. He worked quickly and neatly. He was thoughtful and helped us by replacing lightbulbs we could not reach. He was tolerant of our dogs.

Description of Work: Mr. Smith responded to our request for an estimate, on several small handyman projects promptly. He is a likable and pleasant man. We did not hear from him for over 2 weeks. We called ,and spoke to his wife, who gave him the message we were waiting for the estimate. He admitted he was not good at paper work part, but had the estimates available to give us over the phone. We agreed to the prices, which seemed fair. We asked for a contract. He promptly mailed the contract, and had stated eh would be able to get to at least one of our jobs before the last week of April. We signed the contract, and sent back the $ 70.00. he wanted, to secure the contract. Well, here we are in the second week of May and we have not heard a thing from him. Needless to say, we maybe looking to Angie's List for another Handyman/ Remolding Business. It's hard to tell if he wants the work, but he cashed the check. He could at least call, or if he doesn't he could at least call and let us find some one else. I thought I would be avoiding having to tract down my contractor, when using some one from Angie's List. There you have it. We will wait another week. Meanwhile...Happy Mother's Day to us!

Description of Work: Replace water lines to two faucets in master bathroom

Description of Work: I used S J Smith Remodeling for some remodeling work. I had a basement that was partially done so he completed the rest of the work. The work included putting in a few doors, a closet, painting of some moldings, and so forth.

Description of Work: Installed a 2nd electrical panel for my workshop.

Description of Work: Mr. Smith installed new kitchen Formica countertops, sink & faucet. His measurements were accurate & he took his time with the installation. He was very punctual, neat & professional. His work is excellent. We have now contracted him to install a matching countertop on a free standing cabinet. We would highly recommend him.

Description of Work: Mr. Smith replaced five windows and the screen/storm door in my older mobile home. He showed up on time and did a great job.

Description of Work: Steve framed-out, insulated, relocated and replaced some outlets then drywalled and finished our basement, including the ceiling. It took about 6 weeks from start to finish.

Description of Work: Steve has done tons of work for us over the years...we keep asking him back. Latest project is finishing the master bath. He laid tile beautifully, installed the toilet and vanity including fixtures, redid the electric, painted and hung mirrors and accessories. We agreed to paying by time and materials and have no doubts about the time billed. We are lucky to have found Steve and are grateful he can provide these services at reasonable cost.
