AIM Garage Doors

Ron from Aim Garage Doors was at my home at 7:30 on Friday, June 21, as he said he would be. He was friendly and we spoke for a few minutes and then he got right to work. I had never had maintenance on the door and had been having trouble with it sort of jerking when it closed. Ron showed me a dent in the track the door slid on and he was able to slide something in the track and push the dent out. He also oiled all the hinges and checked the door itself for any damages. He didn't find any but did tell me that a section of the door could be replaced if I did have something damage it. I wouldn't need a whole door. Ron also told me that my garage door opener had not been installed correctly. It was off center by a little, but enough that it could eventually cause a problem. The way I understood what he said is that one side of door is being raised and lowered with a little more pull than the other. I agreed to keep an eye on it and would definitely call Ron if I need a repair.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service and it went fantastic. They came out to do the job several days after I purchased the Big Deal. They seem very family oriented. I got to see pictures of the guy's grandkids and we chatted a little bit. It seems like a very good company to work with.

The Shorts are a wonderful team! They completed everything they came to do according to the Angies List info. Then they went above and beyond to make sure my garage doors were working as best as they can-no easy feat!! They were punctual and planned their visits at my convenience and worked with my schedule. They promptly responded to my calls and were friendly and courteous. I have only A+ things to say about the Short's and will definitely use them in the future and recommend them wholeheartedly. All in all a great experience!

It went very well. Very polite and informative. No push to buy any unnecessary parts. Just informed me what to expect due to the age of the doors and what my options would be. My doors run smooth and a lot quieter. Will call them in the future should I have a problem with my doors.

Ron replaced the present rollers with nylon, ball bearing rollers, found one of the cable pulley's coming apart and replace it, readjusted all the workings so the door opened and closed correctly. All this even has it going up and down evenly so the door always closes the way it should. He arrived within 10 min.'s of the scheduled time (road closings and a confused GPS delayed him a little) had all the parts he needed and even replaced the bottom seal on the door which was not part of the original estimate but was fairly priced. He did not have to try three things to see if that helped -- he knew what he needed to do to fix the problem and get the door working properly. He completed all the work and was on his way home in less than 2 hours.

Purchased a Big deal for Aim Garage Doors. They came to the house to do an inspection of the garage doors. I was pleased with the work he did. During the inspection he stated we needed a new door and a weather strip for the other door. We are waiting for the estimate for the replacement door.

Prior to this service the door was out of alignment due to poor installation and would not close properly (door was NOT installed by AIM). He did a great job and I was very pleased with the work. He also gave me some recommendations on a new door and opener when I mentioned I was thinking of purchasing. I will definitely contact this provider when I am ready to purchase a new garage door and opener.

They arrived early, and originally I wanted the $99 special that was on Angies list for reconditioning the door, but after talking to them we decided that putting a new door on was the way to go since the door was already 23 years old and it did have some issues. It was very noisy and it very old sounding. They checked out my garage door opener and told me that the bushings were going bad and I kind of thought something was going on with it before they came. There was never any pressure to buy the new door or opener, my wife and I talked about it and told them to go ahead with it. The price they quote us was very reasonable and we thought it was better to put more money into the new door and opener than spend a $100 or so and end up replacing the door in a year or two anyway. The job went like clockwork, they did what they said they would do inside the time they gave me. They were very professional but personable, friendly and courteous, and I liked the fact that they were a mom & pop company. So far I am completely satisfied with the door and workmanship. The new door is much nicer, and sooo much more quiet than the old one!

This is a "mom and Pop" business in my local area. Who knew that garage door upkeep was necessary, but the new parts and pieces they installed have reduced the horrible screeching of my garage doors and probably extended the life of the entire mechanisms. They called me as soon as my coupon through Angie's registered in their system and were very adaptable to my schedule to make the repairs. They were friendy, professional and efficient. This was a great experience! I contacted AIM Garage Doors prior to purchasing the Angie's List Big Deal, and Lisa responded immediately via email to inform me that they did have Saturday hours, could come out that very Saturday, and kept in close touch as we worked to verify a mutually convenient appointment time. Ron and Lisa arrived on time and quickly got to work: Ron set to oiling and adjusting the door as Lisa explained the process to me. I had moved into this home five years earlier, and learned from Ron that the door was not the original door, but was about 9 years old and of good quality. They suggested that I keep an eye on the door springs as that would likely be the next thing requiring attention, and advised that they would replace them with a more efficient torsion bar system, if necessary, in the future. Meanwhile, the door now operates more smoothly! Ron and Lisa are efficient, knowledgable, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. After the tune-up was completed, I was surprised that they offered to program the Homelink garage door openers in both of my cars, something I had tried unsuccessfully to do myself. They also helped me to reprogram the garage door keypad security code, and explained some of the functions of the door opener which I was unfamiliar with. That type of personal service is very hard to come by and, to me, goes above and beyond!
