He did the consultation. He started quoting his price and it was about $5,000. I couldn’t go with him. The outline and consultation were great I just couldn’t afford it

He'll tell you upfront that he's more expensive than other people but he's really good. He answered all the questions that we had.

I was not happy with the big deal. There are places that will do this for free.

It went fine. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

The sub-contractor showed up and said they were here to replace the two steps, I reminded them that they were there to replace 3 steps, that is when I found out that they did not actually work for Isbir but were in fact sub-contractors. Considering that they were going to be removing heavy pieces of concrete I thought it odd that neither one of the 2 were wearing steel toed shoes but were wearing sneakers. To demo the steps they used a small demo hammer, the kind I have personally used when I was working. I don't know how much experience they had but they used the wrong bit for what they were doing, a spade bit instead of a pointed bit. However they did eventually get the steps removed. They then formed the new steps and waited for the cement to come. I was told by Mike Isbir that one of the reasons the cost was so high was because when you order cement you have to pay for a cement truck to deliver the load, which you have to pay for a full load, no matter how much you need. The cement did not come in a cement truck but instead was brought in the back of a pick-up truck by one of the sub-contractors, when I ask Mike for a partial refund, seeing as how he did not hire a cement company to deliver the cement, he said he couldn't do that.

I contacted 4 different concrete contractors. All 4 returned my calls. Three showed up to look at the project. Mike Isbir is the only one that followed through. (This is why I did not rate the cost. I had nothing to compare it to.) His office contacted me the same day and asked questions. Then I was asked to email pictures of the area of my yard that I wanted to install the driveway. I was given a time that Mike would call me to discuss the project. He called me right on the dot. Then we made a date for him to come out and look at the yard. He arrived early, but we happened to be home. Then he came up with a plan and a price and presented them exactly as he said he would. He handled obtained all the necessary permits and dealing with the notoriously difficult Borough. After getting the permits he let us know and scheduled the date to come out and start the work. Everything was done to perfection and exactly as he said it would be. All the men that were on the crews were extremely professional and polite. We could not have asked for anything more. Everything was done on time and as promised. I highly recommend Mike and his company.

While we did decide to hold off on doing work for the time being we received a very thorough inspection and a fair quote for repairs and work.

Their bid was extravagant and unreasonable.

horrible. First it took him an entire month to get an appointment, he charged $75 and did absolutely nothing. I wanted him to fix two steps in the front of the yard, build a french drain and build a railing and some steps I got a quote for $25,000 $9000 to fix two steps???? What planet does this guy live in??? My lord??? this is an absolute rip and I should get a refund $75 is half of my paycheck I expected a little more... and got a complete joke... so upset

Mike's estimate is too high. However, it is very detailed and we are using it for a contract with another contractor. Also, Mike gave us a number of useful advices. So, ultimately we think that we got our money back.

They went well beyond what I would expect for the price I paid.

The results were great! The front landscaped slope held and did not erode. The railroad ties for one of the garden boxes surrounding a set of roses were carefully removed and replaced with decorative cement bricks without disturbing the roses themselves. The others were removed and leveled out to the grass to result in ground-level beds. The only remaining sign of the dog fence was the ring from a chain link fence upright that was ground even with the sidewalk. We liked their work so much that we had them do some subsequent work on our house as well.

I wasn't able to get an appointment for 3 weeks because of their busy schedule from all the rain. Mike Isbir did show up on time. Was very helpful in explaining what would actually be needed for the repairs that were required but that this was not the type of work that he would be able to complete. I would definitely still call this company for other work.

From our first contact with Mike over two years ago, to the completion of the job he has been a pleasure to work with. We first met him on an Angie's deal when he surveyed the property and gave us suggestions for solving most of our drainage problems. It was he who first noticed that the foundation was bowing in. So, after having wall anchors installed, we contacted Mike to do the other necessary work. He broke his proposal into parts -- absolutely necessary and nice to have done -- and answered all of our questions clearly, with no jargon. The crew arrived when they said, the work was done very efficiently, they cleaned up after themselves, they were all extremely polite and professional. I recommend Isbir highly.

He came out and did the evaluation and it was fine.

From the very beginning, working with Mike was a pleasure. He worked closely with us to plan a project that fell within our budget. He came out to meet with us at our home and assess the project site. Then he took the time to sit down with us and detail what the options were. He was really interested in knowing exactly what we had in mind and was honest about what would work within our budget. The steps turned out great and will certainly provide safe access to the street or the house during the snowy winter months. We will definitely use Mike again in the future for other large-scale landscape projects and would recommend him to anyone looking for an honest and professional team.

I've done business with Mike in the past and he is great to work with. I reached out via email to get a quote and he acknowledged my inquiry the next day and within a couple of days I had a quote. It is the busy season for landscaping, but I was fortunate that Mike's team was able to do the job within about 2 weeks of my inquiry. They do a really nice job, they trimmed the trees, shaped the smaller shrubs and laid down a good layer of mulch as well as replaced a few shrubs that did not make it through the winter.

Mr. Isbir came out to do the point inspection, but since it was raining so hard we went right to the base of the problem (excessive water in back yard). During this storm he could really see where I was having drainage issues and came up with the French drain plan. He sent me a very well detailed plan on exactly what he was going to do. He was very easy to contact. He notified me a day or two when he planned to do the work. He showed early that morning with a site manager and went over the plan with him in my presence . The other workers showed up soon after with all of their gear and supplies. Very organized. Very courteous. I was very happy with their work and would definitely recommend them.

Everything went exceedingly well. I don't have clogged drainpipes in the front and back of my house any more, so water is no longer backing up. The french drain in back of my yard is working very well. No longer have water in that area back there. Mike Isbir is very dependable, professional, and knowledgeable. He took his time and explained to me what had to be done. I really appreciated this because I never had this type of work done before. He and his crew arrived at 7 am. on workdays and cleaned up before they left. Job was also completed on time. Mike also has a wonderful crew and office staff. I would recommend Isbir Construction-Landscaping to anyone who wants a good quality, professional job done.

I contacted Isbir via email and they responded very quickly to set up a date to come out and review my project area, discuss options and give ideas. They sent an estimate via email very quickly and followed up with me a few days later.

Due to weather issues, the original visit was rescheduled three times - and Darlene was great about helping with that. When Mike came out we walked the property and spoke about landscape concerns and drainage issues. He kept saying "I'm talking off the top of my head." and seemed very scattered. He offered some quick suggestions for plantings, which I appreciated. He suggested making a strip of lawn by the house a part of the flower bed next to it, which I thought was a great idea. We spoke about the drainage concerns and he said we'd need to put in French drains and new solid pipe drains for five downspouts to drain towards the street and that he'd have to get me an estimate for them. I got his drawing and estimate by email about three days later. His drawing for the landscaping was only what we spoke of and was very basic. His estimate for the drainage work was, frankly, astronomical. Approx. $10,000 for French drains in our backyard (approx. 300'for the overall length by 40' at its widest) and nearly $9,500 for the drain pipes. Something else I found a bit odd was that his estimate was specifically noted to be good only for 15 days, and that doesn't leave much time for getting comparison estimates or really weighing options. We've since had others in to give estimates and his was by far the highest and he's also the only one who said we needed French drains. I really wasn't expecting the super high pricing and didn't know what to make of the rather odd behavior given all the great Angie's List reviews.

He provided the service that I asked him for. He responded quickly with the quotes for the work, but I felt that it was extremely expensive.

Mike came over to review our project and collect our list of wants. We needed topsoil, grass, shrubs, stairs from upper deck to lower yard, bricks replaced on patio, and a new patio and firepit installed (a few other things as well). Mike was extremely nice, very professional and extremely punctual with his response and quote. Unfortunately the price was significantly higher than other quotes that we received. We were actually able to have all of the work done above, and put on an additional composite deck with a built in grille, cabinets and countertop as well as replace all of our ugly old brick with new pavers to match the firepit for the same price. I wouldn't hesitate to call and I am sure his work is of great quality, but the prices just seemed too inflated for me. The work we had completed by the other service provider was of extremely great quality. See my review on them coming in the next couple of weeks.
