Description of Work: We consulted with Isbir on completely re-doing our side yard. Mike was incredibly nice and understood our vision and needs for the yard. He provided us with an amazingly thorough and broken-down proposal. We decided to only have him complete the needed demolition and installation of a fence, as we couldn't afford much more than that. We were fairly impressed with how quickly his team came in and removed trees, large shrubs, and concrete. Though the work was completed satisfactorily, I felt that they relied on heavy construction equipment when manual labor would have done the job, resulting in destroying our sidewalk. They replaced the sidewalk with paving stones, which we do like, but they didn't even warn us that it would happen, except for a clause in the contract saying they weren't responsible for damage from their equipment. We decided after they left that we wanted additional concrete removal, as they left a portion of the sidewalk intact, and it was too prohibitively expensive to have them come back. It only took myself and my boyfriend one day to do the demolition ourselves. |In addition Isbir subcontracted the fence work without informing us in advance to expect a call from a subcontractor. Had they been doing work inside our home, I would have had to call Mike to confirm that these were his subcontractors. As it was outside, I did not, but it was unsettling. |We also did not have any style options for fencing, only colors. |All in all we are happy with the work, which is mostly of high quality, but we feel that Isbir did not go above and beyond to please us or be overly communicative.

Description of Work: a bid was received for a $3000 small versa lock wall from 3 other vendors. Theirs was $8000. Job was probably too small for their attention.

Description of Work: Replace concrete driveway and parts of sidewalk and steps. |They did what they said when they said they would do it. And they paid attention to our garden, preserving plants important to us.

Description of Work: Let me start by saying Mike Isbir is very professional. He showed up on time, walked our yard & spoke everything out in detail with me. Unfortunatly, price was a lot higher than I was expecting. I was looking at having a new driveway cut, old drive replaced, front steps and walkway redone, rear yard graded & a fence put in. I ended up breaking it all out & playing my own project manager which saved me a lot of $ in the end. Had I had the cash, I most likely would have had Mike design something up and run with it! Sorry Mike. :(

Description of Work: They did a major demolition of overgrown ivy beds, old fences (wood/wire and chain link), and hedges, pulling and digging out everything, grading and covering with black plastic to stop weeds, then finished with topsoil and mulch. Everything is clean and sharp and professionally finished. I could not have been happier with their professionalism and the quality of the work. Expensive, and they were not the lowest estimate I received, but the quality was more than worth the price difference.

Description of Work: I used a Big Deal from Angie's List to have Isbir inspect and provide an estimate for work on restoring my concrete front porch. The owner of the company inspected the porch and advised me that rather than replacing the concrete, I needed to hire a concrete restoration company. Isbir primarily does new concrete work and retaining walls. I was advised that our porch was still structurally sound and was given guidance as to how to repair the issues and preserve its integrity. I appreciated that he took time to discuss the options with me and also to not try to sell me on something I did not need. Although no work was performed, I feel I received my money's worth from the Big Deal due to the information he provided.

Description of Work: We purchased the concrete evaluation and consultation from Isbir Construction as we wanted to have a concrete patio poured this year. |Mike spent an hour with us as we discussed our ideas for the patio and our need to incorporate a French drain as part of the design. |Mike sent an email a couple of days later quoting a price of $13,410 for a 468 square foot patio, not including landscaping following the pour. We found that quote to be very high (double the cost we were quoted last year from a North Hills concrete specialist). I responded asking him for a breakdown of the costs so we could decide whether we wished to proceed. To-date, I have yet to receive the courtesy of a response. |How this company received the favorable reviews it has on Angie's List is beyond me.

Description of Work: Isbir does not do separate surveys. The only do a survey as part of their projects. You should remove them from your list of survey providers.

Description of Work: Expanded Patio, installed french drain and downspout lines. A walkway was installed and the lawn and landscape were restored. No surprises, exceptionally prompt and knowledgeable. Mike and his crew had the right equipment and it was functional. The crew was aware of our needs and made sure to ask us about anything concerning the project. The men worked hard and completed our project in a more than reasonable amount of time. There were no "leftovers" that I had to finish, and our property was left clean and orderly.

Description of Work: ISBIR Construction did a phenominal job doing several landscape projects at my home. Our front yard was completely infested with grubs and moss. We removed the infected sod and ISBIR regraded the area and re-sodded. The new sod looks fantastic. Our backyard also had moss and weeds and was very rough and not usable. They regrade the yard, created a flat platform for a trampoline. In this area, they planted seed. My entire family could not be happier with the services supplied by the ISBIR construction team. Professional, prompt and friendly. Although the job did seem a bit pricey, you get what you pay for. I would use ISBIR Construction for all of my landscaping needs and more!

Description of Work: I purchased a $59 landscape design package from Angies List. Mike Isbir seems like a nice man. He was punctual. I wouldn't say he wowed me with any ideas but they were comparable to what's average out there. His estimate however was REDICULOUS. $6480 to plant $600-$800 worth of shrubs/plants in a bed which had already been cleared, tilled, and heavy duty weed control fabric lain down. Yes mulch would cost some, but not $4-5000 dollars. Then he wanted $11,780 for 10x28 stamped concrete patio. That's roughly $43 per sq/ft!!!(avg cost $8-12 sq/ft). Sent him an email that he NEVER responded to. That's not being professional in my book.

Description of Work: Mr. Isbr called and arrived a bit early. He spent a good deal of time discussing the work I wanted done, and answered all questions clearly and to my satisfaction. After talking with Mr. Isbr it was clear to me that the man knows his business. |As a result of our meeting, Mr. Isbr generated a proposal. Unfortunately it was more than I was able to afford, so will have to go another way.

Description of Work: Isbir provided a drainage assessment. Mike gave me good input and ideas. My only feedback is that I would have liked to have seen a written plan. If I would have asked, I'm sure he would have done so.
