I contacted Pro-Crete in 9/10/09 for some information on acid staining and to get an estimate. Jim the owner told me that I would need to have my basement floor done before the General Contractor (GC) started working. The reason was that once the floor was stained and sealed that anything that was spilled on the floor would just wipe up and not mess up the concrete. I had already signed a contract with my General Contractor (GC) and they were going to start the project on the 15th. I called around to other concrete companies and was told the same thing. Unfortunately, the other companies could not do the job before the 15th. Pro-Crete was the most expensive bid I received; however, I went with them due to my time constraints, and I did not want my floor damaged or to hold up my GC. In hindsight, I guess there was a reason that Pro-Crete wasn't busy. . . . The Workers from Pro-Crete came on the morning of the 14th. They asked if they could use my shop-vac because their shop-vac was not working. I said yes and now my shop-vac is broken and full of mold: they never cleaned it out after using it and let water sit in it. I called and told them about the shop-vac, and they said they would take care of it. In the end, they refused to replace it and the owner told me that I was a "f****** b****". Next my GC finished the job ( they did a great job!..Legacy Remodeling) and there were marks on the floor, which did not wipe up, from where I put yellow masking tape to indicate where I wanted lights hung above. I was told by Jim that the floor would be virtually indestructible after 24 hours of drying time. I waited a week to put the tape on the floor. The tape pulled up the stain and the sealer off the concrete--off that indestructible floor. The owner,Jim, and a worker came and looked at it and said it was not a big deal, and they would come back and fix it. It took a month for them to get back here to try and fix the issue. They could not fix the problem, and they created more of a mess to the floor, as it became discolored in several spots. The floor was full of bubbles and ripples. It is still a mess. Moreover, my lawn was damaged in several spots from where they haphazardly mixed the chemicals. I called Jim several times in an attempt to discuss the situation. Finally, I left a message stating that I had taken pictures of the floor, and I wanted him to see them. He called me back, yelling at me that he did his job, refused to let me say anything, called me a "f****** b****," refused to replace the shop-vac and hung up on me. Despite the owner's attitude, Jim's worker came back out on his own time and attempted to fix the floor. My floor was stained and sealed 3 times. Each time my whole family had to be out of the house for two days due to the fumes. We spent these nights in a hotel room. It was a nightmare and the floor is still full of bubbles and ripple!!!!!
Description of Work: We finished our basement and had Pro-Crete acid stain our concrete floor with with a mahogany color then apply a sealer to the floor. They worked on approx 700sq feet of concrete floor.
