It went great. They were responsive and thoughtful. We have worked with lots of landscapers and designers but their creativity and suggestions were great. We requested a unique design. They had good ideas and honest advice. They were able to help us find a great vision for our space. They had some fun plant ideas and their stonework was great. It was completed before I even noticed. We had some 100 year old stone wall and and they fixed it no problem. It looks like it must've looked when it was first built. The stone work was a great and valuable restoration of a space that has a meaningful historic look. They were punctual and deliberate. I interacted with 6 staff members in total and they were all friendly and knowledgeable. Modern billing options. Text Messaging, Email, or Calling were all options with quick responses. I would hire again, but with our low maintenance lawn and garden, I don't think we'll need much help until our next big project. I know they are available though.

I bought a house in the suburbs after years of apartment living in the city with virtually no knowledge of how to maintain a yard. The folks over at Pierce L. Shallis Landscaping & Design helped teach me what I needed to do and installed soil to help prevent drainage issues. The consultation was convenient, informative, and thorough. The payment process was simple. The communication and availability was excellent. And most importantly, the results exceeded my expectations and allowed me to relax about my drainage problems so I could focus on the most enjoyable parts of landscaping. Very highly recommended!

Pierce, Cody and the entire team were amazing. They explained the entire process from start to finish, were very polite and professional. They were on time everyday and very responsive to any questions we had. They completed the job and cleaned up EVERYTHING! I would highly recommend and we will definitely be using them again for future job.

We needed to build the grade up along the back of our house for better yard drainage. Pierce was here right in his window for the estimate and he was very knowledgeable on how to try and remedy our yard issues. I received a very fair estimate very promptly and decided to get the job done with Pierce. The work was done within a week of the initial payment and they did a great job. I would definitely hire this contractor again.

Our experience could not have gone any better. Pierce gave us an estimate within a half hour after walking our property and the price was very fair. The work was then done ahead of schedule and the job exceeded our expectations. We had a total redo of the front or our property and it looks fantastic. Pierce and his team went out of their way to make sure we knew what we were paying for and also how to care for our shrubs, etc. moving forward. I high recommend them to anyone that needs landscape help in any way.

From start to finish it has been very easy to work with Pierce. First off, Pierce himself (owner of the company) worked with me directly throughout the project. When he came for the initial consultation, I was immediately struck by his intimate knowledge of different plants, and firm vision around what does or does not look good. He was open and honest about the pricing - not being the lowest in the market but certainly not the highest. He made a recommendation to add some more landscape lighting to augment what I already had. I thought this was an unintended expense, but relented because I realized the need for the additional lighting once he explained it. I had been evaluating a couple other vendors but decided to go with Pierce as he seemed honest, knowledgeable, passionate about his craft, and easy to work with. And I wasn't disappointed. Shortly after signing the contract, Pierce asked me and my wife to accompany him to a large local nursery to pick out the plants we liked so there would be no surprises at the end - this was a unique experience and I really appreciated the time he spent to educate my wife and I and take our input and suggestions. He quickly then sent out renderings that we iterated on back and forth until I was satisfied with the composition of the plants and the overall look. The crew came out a couple weeks later and accomplished the job in one day. Through the whole project communication with Pierce was seamless as we employed text messages and were quick to respond to each other. This saved a lot of time and made the process efficient. The team went above and beyond in a couple different aspects of the project that truly surprised me. In summary, I really appreciate their honesty, integrity, and quality of work, and plan to use this company in the future.

Pierce and his crew really did an outstanding job on our yard. They worked all day til the job was done. You can tell they care about the quality and it looked amazing. Our neighbors were even impressed by them. Their dedication to quality work and customer satisfaction is obvious. Pierce keeps lines of communication open the entire time and responds immediately to questions or concerns. He will text or email you right back day or night. Other landscape companies that I contacted would take days or weeks to get back to me. Very frustrating. Pierce really went above and beyond all my expectations and I would 110% recommend them. He even gave me alternative options for my walkway that were more affordable that I hadn’t even thought of. It’s hard to find that combination of quality work with their dedication to customer satisfaction.

Pierce came out and we talked about a few options. He gave me a price right there which was quite a bit higher than others I had received. He was also quite a distance from my neighborhood so I was not excited to use him.

Pierce and team were extremely responsive throughout the whole process (initial quote, follow up/questions, picking out the plants, day of installation). Cody is great and came out for the initial quote - he took pictures/video so they could prepare the quote (a high level quote was sent within hours, followed by a formal quote via email). We had new flower beds installed along with many new plants/bushes, had certain areas graded and seeded, and pop up emitters installed for proper drainage. We chose to go to the actual nursery to pick out the plants - Pierce gave his opinion and talked us through what would work for our property. On the day of installation they arrived promptly with a large team and completed the job quickly but with an attention to detail and quality. Overall extremely happy with them not only for their responsiveness but also for the great work product and quality. I'm sure I will use them again for future needs and I highly recommend. You may find a less expensive quote elsewhere, but as others have said you get what you pay for.

Working with Pierce and his crew was great from start to finish. Pierce took the time to understand what we were looking for, made recommendations and then exceeding our expectations with execution. Pierce had frequent and clear communication about all the steps through the process. Him and his crew were professional and courteous. I found Pierce here on Angies list. I am a new home owner with very little yard/landscaping knowledge but saw that we had some severe water management issues. Cody came right out for a quote after I called, took pics and videos and discussed with Pierce. I was impressed with thier professionalism, responsiveness, and the plan they devised to address my concerns, within my budget. After I agreed to the contract, both Cody and Pierce came back for a second look to confirm the course of action. I was in constant contact with Pierce about a number of issues leading up to thier part of the solution to our water problems (we also had many trees removed and new driveway placed, all needing to be done before Pierce). He was so patient with me and all my questions and worries. He worked hard to have my job completed on time. His crew was fast and professional. It rained really hard a few days after the seeding and he came back with extra seed and topsoil for me to repair a few bald spots, after having been paid in full. Overall, A+ experience

The project went very well. I wanted an area of my yard to be leveled and a playset safety zone to be installed. Pierce and his team were on time, worked efficiently, and completed the project faster than I expected. They were also very attentive to detail making sure the project looked like I wanted when completed. Great group of people. Finally, who wouldn't want excellent work at a cheaper price (reason for B rating on price).

The workers were professional and left our property in pristine condition. Plants were replaced that needed to be, a truckload of mulch was spread, and attention to the property as a whole was consistent with the work that they have performed over the last several year. This is a highly professional organization which is supervised personally by Pierce. The also move boarder pavers to reinforce an existing wall.

My wife and I have dealt with quite a few different landscapers over the years, and while most are have been competent, their bench strength is not always deep. Once you get past the estimator/owner, the skills of the rest of the team drops off considerably. We have found that, at the end of the day, successful projects and happy customers are the result of having a strong team end-to-end. Our latest project involved removal of some of our existing landscape plants, and replacing them with more appealing plants, as well as the addition of some landscape lighting, and mulching. We called Pierce L. Shallis Landscaping (found via Angies list) and scheduled an appointment. When we first met with Pierce L. Shallis to discuss our project, we were very impressed with him. He was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. As things progressed, we became acquainted with the rest of the Shallis team: Cody was very good to work with in reviewing and mangaging the lighting package as well as the overall project execution. Heather and Barbie provided excellent and courteous front office support, communications and coordination. Both Pierce and Cody were present on the day the project was completed and were able to quickly answer any questions or concerns The install team was friendly, courteous, hard working, and meticulous. Easily one of the best experiences I've had with a Vendor. At the initial estimate, Pierce provided an honest assessment of the work that needed to be done to achieve what I wanted. He provided a fair price (based on my research). And given that I was working under a tight schedule, he agreed to fit me into his schedule accordingly. We were in regular communication all the way up until the day of the work. On the day of the work, his team showed up and immediately went to work. Within four hours, they had completed the entire project. Later when I took a close look at their work, I realized that they had gone above and beyond what we'd discussed in certain areas and their attention to detail was spot on. I will absolutely hire PLS again in the future.
