The services noted above went marvelously, as is tradition with Pierce. I have been working with Pierce for seven years, and our projects have included removal of zoysia grass from the front lawn and re-sodding that area, drainage management, seasonal mulching of beds, tree removal, tree trimming, landscape design, and plant installation. I have to say, Pierce is the best. His knowledge, creativity, work ethic, professionalism, selection/training/supervision of crew members, and follow-up are exceptional. This may be something few people notice, but each time he comes to my home for a job, his crew members are polite and they always wear clean clothing and are nicely groomed (which is rather remarkable, given the nature of landscaping work); additionally, his trucks are clean and in good shape, and his equipment is either new or very well maintained--thus, it's always fully operational (there has never been a job delay because of equipment issues). I find this to be symbolic of everything about Pierce. He has an impeccable eye for detail in every situation, whether for his business or for my home. He's a classy guy and a fantastic business man who has never once disappointed me.

We were very pleased with all aspects of the project. Pierce was great with recommendations on what he thought would work best for our yard. We met at the nursery one day to look at options for plantings. This was very helpful to see exactly what the shrubs and trees looked like prior to purchase and install. Due to the size of the project it took some time to complete. His crew that was here was very knowledgeable about the project and helpful in answering questions if Pierce was not here. We love the new look of the front yard and would gladly recommend Pierce L Shallis Landscaping to anyone.

I did not shop around for price so could not tell you if he is high or not but I can tell you that everyone associated with him are very courteous and they are all eager to please.

Work was always done neatly and on time. I have recommended them to many friends and neighbors.

This was by far one of the worst companies that I have ever worked with. Not only was the quality of the work poor, the customer service was horrible. I showed the landscaper who came for an estimate a picture of the specific type of river rock I wanted and I was told it would be no problem. The river rock they brought was dirty, jagged, and looked like they got it fresh from the woods. I was then told afterwards that, whoops, they didn?t have the kind of rock that I wanted and this was all they had. Well, that would have been nice to know before I agreed to the estimate and gave them my money! I also wanted the wall on the side of the garden repaired because the one top piece of wood was warped. For some reason, they were not able to find a piece of wood that fit and left my garden unfinished. They took the cost of the wood and labor off of my bill, but left my garden unfinished and looking horrible. Now I have to seek out someone else to fix it. Also, they put a mat down under the river rock to stop weeds and after only 4 weeks we can see multiple weeds popping through already. By far the worst thing about this company is their customer service. They only communicate by email, which can be frustrating at times. When they came out the first time to complete the job, they made some mistakes with the landscaping and broke my railing with their wheelbarrow. I then had to wait THREE WEEKS for them to come back and fix the garden and railing. They kept giving me excuse after excuse as to why they couldn?t come out to fix it. I find this completely unacceptable- quality businesses should make it a priority to fix their mistakes and finish prior jobs before starting new ones. I would avoid this company and look for one that cares more about their customers.

After suffering through several landscaping companies, I decided to join Angie's List to find a contractor who had high reviews from its members. When reading reviews, rarely do I find that the ratings are uniformly outstanding, so I was a bit skeptical when I saw this was the case for Pierce's work. However, the reviews were quite convincing, so I proceeded by setting up an appointment with Pierce. He arrived promptly at our appointment and immediately demonstrated a knowledgeable and professional demeanor. He spent quite a bit of time with me to fully understand my requirements. Within days a plan arrived on my computer, and I approved his vision. There were a few delays because of my travel and his being able to obtain the plants he thought would be the best for the job. He was understanding and worked with my travel schedule and I assured him that I was not in a rush and for him to secure the plants he wanted before beginning the job. He arrived early Friday morning with his extraordinary team and remained with them to work and to supervise the project. The pachysandra and lily of the valley that had taken over the area were pulled, new beautiful skip laurels replaced the dead ones, my block retaining wall was disassembled and redone properly, all of my bushes on my property were trimmed beautifully, new plants were placed strategically to create texture and color, and two inches of mulch were laid to increase water retention and to beautify the area. Not only was I extremely pleased with Pierce's work on this job, I have asked him to do fall and spring cleanups, and to manage all of my shrubbery in the future. While he has been in business a relatively short period of time, his work is excellent and he knows how to please his customers.

It was a pleasure working with Pierce and his team. Pierce and Heather are extremely professional, and I really appreciated their prompt responses to any questions throughout the project. Pierce provided great suggestions for the design of the landscaping. The work was completed with care and attention to detail, and I'm thrilled with the results. I highly recommend Pierce and would definitely work with him again.

Had a large stump & roots beneath grade. Animals couldn't stop digging into it, and the sinkholes were a mess. Pierce gave me an initial quote, but I wanted him to excavate well beyond the stump to make sure (if needed). The full job, with my extra request, was to run about $1,400. It was supposed to include grading of the surface with premium topsoil. They came and did the job, but they only did the stump diameter (about 6 ft). Pierce said they didn't feel we needed to go further. Also said they didn't need any topsoil. Said the area might settle a little as we go forward, and may need to add some soil in the future. I thought that was a little odd, since that should have been anticipated with the original estimate. So, I held off on this review to see how it would go. It's been a few months, and things are going great. Caught a vole digging out there the day after the job, but they must have realized the difference. Haven't had an animal hole or sinking spot since. I still think there might have been a mix up with the crew and the topsoil, but nonetheless, Pierce quickly took that amount off of the job. He gives a great cash discount and, at the time at least, an Angie's list discount. The whole thing cost only $500. All in all, Pierce was very professional and responsive. He is very quick to get back to you, and very prompt with the service. He could have very easily done an inflated job at my request, rather he was very quick to give money back to me and say, "you didn't need that". Had I known I could have corrected the major issue in my back yard for that price, I would have called Pierce a long time ago. I would definitly use him again.

Heather and Pierce were very easy to work with. All of my communications were answered thoroughly and promptly. One the scheduled job date, the crew arrived promptly and were very courteous and professional. They did an amazing job cleaning up my beds! They showed great attention to detail (moved my gas grill out of the way instead of working around it, for example). They were very thorough and removed each and every weed and vine in my flower beds...and there were a LOT of weeds. It was a mess! After they were done weeding, edging, pruning and mulching, all of the beds looked AMAZING! I had a yard party two days later, and the compliments were non stop! I was beyond pleased! I will absolutely use Pierce L. Shallis Landscaping and Design again and HIGHLY recommend them to all in need of making their yards and landscaping more beautiful!

Shallis Landscaping exceeded their contract requirements we had a lot of work done. Everyone on their crew was very professional and polite. We plan to use their services again. I can't say enough good things about this company they are awesome!!!!

We could not be happier with the work that was done. The full yard was done in one day! I was very surprised to come home and find the work finished. Although the grass has not grown in yet, the yard already looks 100% better. After the heavy rain on Saturday, the team came back and smoothed out the yard again and reseeded. I can't wait to see the final result. Pierce will come back in a month to check and do some maintenance. Peirce is very professional and easy to work with. Pierce Shallis came, he was very nice just like the other guy. He did everything beautifully. He did not include the price. He was very very nice and good.

Pierce L. Shallis is very professional. I love the fact they itemize all the items they can do for your yard and then you pick which one you want them to do. You can have them do as much or as little as you want. For us, our yard was a mess. Both my husband and I don't garden much so there were weeds everywhere and bushes overgrown. They showed up right at 8 am as they said they would and a whole crew of them worked on our yard pretty much all day. We came home from work that day and thought our yard was transformed! It looked fabulous! I am very pleased with their work and would definitely hire them again.

Pierce and his crew were great. He under promised during the estimate and they over performed by completion. We plan to use him again in the future.

We couldn't be happier with the work they performed. Pierce listened to exactly what we asked for and gave great suggestions while we discussed the property with him at the time of the estimate. He was prompt in getting us an estimate and they were able to start the work immediately. They took care of everything we asked and are continuing to help us with more work on our property. They cleaned up thoroughly after they were finished and our yard has never looked better. We discussed future work with Pierce and he never pressured us to do more or have it done all at one time. In addition to some smaller projects, Pierce L Shallis Landscaping & Design has provided landscape management services for our townhouse community for the last year and a half (turf mowing, pruning, mulching, flower planting, etc.). Our community members were so pleased with the quality and professionalism that Pierce and his staff afforded our residents and Board members that we decided to renew our landscape management contract with his company for the next 3 years. Pierce is extremely easy to work with and very knowledgeable. He has always been very responsive whether it be replying to requests for estimates or addressing the concerns of our residents. On the rare occasions that issues have arisen, they have been resolved quickly and much to the satisfaction of the community members. Above all, the quality of his work is exceptional and has helped the appearance of our development greatly. We look forward to working with this company for many years to come.

We could not have been happier with the landscaping work provided by Pierce L. Shallis Landscaping & Design. When we decided to have landscaping work done for our home, we researched several different landscaping companies in the Main Line area. Pierce was, by far, the most willing to work with us to achieve our envisioned design, as well as stay within our desired budget, even offering to meet us at a local nursery to help pick out the plants, shrubs, and trees for our yard. Once the work began, Pierce and his crew were meticulous in making sure ours was the best-looking yard on the block. In fact, Pierce was onsite throughout the entire process (yard cleanup, installation, etc.) to supervise the work, answer any questions we had, and allow us to make changes to the design in real-time. Both my wife and I are incredibly happy with the service we received and will no doubt be working with Pierce L. Shallis Landscaping & Design for any future landscaping needs.

Pierce, the owner of the landscape company is courteous, prompt, and keeps to his timeline. He is quite knowledgeable in his specialty. Most impressive is he will come back to make sure the customer is happy with the service. Never have had any problems reaching him. His work is not inexpensive, but worth the great customer service and work that is done. Highly recommend this company.

Pierce was very flexible and accommodative to my timeline. They worked with me in a couple weeks to the orginal job which was very helpful. His crew worked fast and diligent. They did a fantastic job. They were friendly and courteous to me and my family. Great crew to work with.

Everything looks great! Pierce cut my lawn last year and when we needed landscape work done we went to him. I bid out the job and he was squarely in the middle price wise. Since I knew his work ethic I chose him. After an initial delay because of rain, Pierce and his crew came yesterday. They are a quiet respectful crew. Very neat. Everything was done according to our written proposal. One intangible aspect of Pierce is his generosity. He truly works with his customer and will add on specific customer requests like bringing extra mulch, putting down landscape fabric or moving tree debris without charging extra. Last year we backed out of a proposal and Pierce refunded the full amount of the down payment. We highly recommend him!

The project went very smoothly. Pierce and Heather were very professional and all communication was handled in a very timely, efficient manner. Gave us a detailed estimate so we could budget for future projects. Crew did a great job and was very thorough from start to finish. Would highly recommend.

At this juncture we have decided to do the work on our own this year but will certainly consider their services in the future. I believe their quote was reasonably priced, the itemization of the work was transparent and overall it was a professional experience.

We decided to hold off on proceeding this year because of the cost, however, were extremely impressed by his professionalism and transparency with the costs. Ultimately, we will probably use him in the future, because his reviews indicate that his services may be worth the expense.

Pierce is the best landscaping service that I have ever used. He is ALWAYS professional and responsive.
