All work was completed in a professional and timely manner with his excellent staff. The most impressive aspect of this company is that Pierce stays with his crew and works beside them the entire time. He makes sure that the work performed meets his expectations.

Couldn't have been better. I'd had landscaping done before by Terrain many years ago and it was extremely expensive and caused problems... which Pierce Shallis detected when he evaluated my existing landscaping [ For example, the ivy Terrain planted was now damaging the pointing on my brickwork, two trees in my garden were creating mold on the siding of my house, and the irrigation system they installed was no longer working and needed to be replaced]. Not only did Pierce Shallis create an elegant garden that is the envy of my development, he was able to diagnose and rectify the mistakes that previous landscapers either created or overlooked. His follow-up, flexibility and responsiveness are exceptional. I've contracted with him for ongoing maintenance.

Our house had a basement water leak that we suspected was due to the flow of storm water toward the house. Pierce promptly and professionally diagnosed the problem and had the work done about a week later. Our basement no longer leaks during strong rainstorms.

Service was excellent. Pierce came out himself and provided his professional recommendations on how to make the landscaping better. He considered cost, maintenance requirements when making recommendations. He came out to provide oversight of the crew who was efficient, friendly and did a nice job. We were very pleased with the result.

Good word. We have a yearly plan and they will tend to the lawn mowing, landscape, flowers and trees.

When my husband and I purchased our house last year, we did not realize that we also inherited a yard that needed constant up-keeping. The previous owner had planted a variety of plants scattered throughout the yard, all of which looks wonderful for about two weeks in the spring time, and then not so much for the rest of the year. Being homeowners for the first time, we did not anticipate the yard upkeep to take up so much time. We reached out to a few places that serviced our area, but eventually came in contact with PLS Landscaping through Angie's List. Heather from PLS was extremely quick to respond, and was utmost accommodating even when we had to reschedule our appointment last minute. We met Cody, the sales representative from PLS 7:30 am in the morning at the house. He was extremely helpful and immediately knew what our problems were. Cody was able to really listen to our needs, fill in the blanks and put everything in perspective for us. Once we were ready to move forward, he handed us off to Pierce, the owner of PLS Landscaping for final quotes. The rest was easy breezy, Pierce and the team took about 2 days to remove and install all the items on the list. The whole team consistently took the initiative to give us recaps on progress, giving us details on what was done and why something had to be done another day. As there are always surprises with any house related work, the PLS team was able to guide us through that by giving us recommendations to what they really think we should remove or add to now, and what they thought it's okay that we didn't have to pay for immediately. As new homeowners, this was very much appreciated. My husband and I are so extremely grateful to have found the PLS team. At end of the day, we truly feel that this was not just an investment for our yard, it was an investment in a lifestyle and time. We have even started plans on working on our backyard by ourselves, and the PLS team really helped us get there. Thank you PLS Landscaping!!

Pierce and his team are very professional through the process. He was prompt in returning my initial request, scheduled visit to come up with a design and cost estimate. He worked with me to manage the total cost within my budget. His team is very professional in the two days they come to get the job done. Overall, there is clear communication in all steps of the project and I am very happy about the result. The price he quoted me is not the lowest, but in reasonable range. I picked his team due to good feedback on this site and his prompt response to all my questions and follow up. I will recommend his service to my friends.

I got booked on their schedule very quickly after a prompt visit to my property that was necessary for the estimate-writing. The service was punctual, professional, friendly, and of high quality. They were flexible and customized in their approach. The conversion of my property was impressive and beautiful. The team worked quickly, too! Pierce and his team were fantastic. Was able to get a consultation immediately and the young man was knowledgeable and had great suggestions and ideas as we walked the property. The estimate came back that week and outlined everything we discussed. We had a specific budget and needed a lot of work on the property and Pierce was wonderful about working with us to come up with a plan that met our needs and budget. They arrived within two weeks and our property hasn't looked this good since it was first installed. I would HIGHLY recommend Pierce and his team for their professionalism and superior work. I did a lot of research in trying to find a landscaper whose aesthetics, skills and knowledge were top notch, and finding and working with Pierce Shallis and his team fulfilled all that I was hoping for. Pierce took what was a somewhat embarrassing and haphazardly planted mess of a garden located at the entrance of my townhouse -- originally planted by the townhouse association's landscaper -- and re-designed and installed an entirely new, easy to care for, beautiful garden I'm proud to have welcoming family, friends, and neighbors to my home. And when the townhouse association where I live initially through up a few "road barriers", not approving some of the plantings Pierce suggested and that I really wanted (living in a townhouse community as I do, I needed to get approval for any changes made to the exterior of my home), Pierce took it all in stride, patiently helping me navigate over those road barriers with new plant suggestions with multiple species choices to choose from that would satisfy both my desires and the association's needs and regulations. The new garden is thriving, it's beautiful and calming, and I cannot thank and recommend Pierce and his team highly enough for their inspired work, work ethic, and customer service. Simply brilliant.

Job was done well. Pricey, but the job was done as requested. They do a good job of cleaning up afterwards. Crew is all nice guys, very polite and clean cut and professional. Colby's crew was especially accommodating. Reliable and clean equipment. Would use again.

I pride myself as a DIY with limits. There is something about seeing the results of projects that you accomplished, but when circumstances changed this spring and I had multiple landscaping projects that needed to be done, but was unable to do myself, I searched for a local landscaper via Angie's List. Although Pierce Shallis was not the lowest bid I received, their professionalism and communication was key for them having the winning bid for my project. I initially worked with Bill to walk through my project list and obtain an estimate. From the start of working with the Pierce Shallis team, I felt they were listening to my needs - from needing dog safe products to wanting my property to be easy to care for. Pierce promptly sent an estimate, we decided on plants, and we set a date for the job. Today was the date of the service and frankly, I am ecstatic with being able to get my weekends back this summer due to the excellent job the team did. Not only did Bill show up for the start of the job, but Cody - the team lead - walked through the property and the list of projects to be completed. He asked questions along the way, gaining understanding of what my needs were, and communicated them directly to the team on how to approach the work. Although a finished project is important to me, the process along the way and the clear communications is what makes me a repeat customer in the future. Pierce also showed up to review the project and the team was off to make my property beautiful with an extensive list of must haves. The finished product resulted in multiple hand weeded beds, two large areas being regraded and seeded, several edged and mulched areas, and the installation of several perennials where before was a jungle of weeds. Pierce and his team showed up on time and worked throughout the better part of two days to complete the job. Before they started, Pierce provided updates on the schedule (weather delays) and he was highly responsive. Something you don't often find with Landscaping companies. The crew cleaned up before they left and put down grass seed where the machine had been. A very great experience and the results are amazing.

Pierce and Heather came over to discuss our project, and an estimate with some evergreen options promptly followed. Of the options provided for our evergreen screening, we chose skip laurels and one arborvitae for a separate bed . Pierce was not initially able to find the larger skip laurels we wanted, but he eventually located them. Despite his efforts, we ended up planting smaller skips since he reported that the leaves were yellowing on the larger ones. We knew this before the installation, so it was in no way a surprise. We had some tree work that needed to be done before the installation, and that took a few weeks because we needed to get some estimates and coordinate with our neighbors since some trees were on their property. Once we had a date for our tree work, we were able to coordinate our installation with Pierce who was patient, responsive, and flexible throughout the process. Pierce arrived with five other men who worked for about four hours on our project. Before they got started, we spent a few minutes discussing placement and other details which were followed perfectly. They did a nice job cleaning up the area when the job was completed. After the job was done, Pierce emailed me instructions about how to properly water the new evergreens. We look forward to watching our new evergreens grow!

Pierce landscaping did an amazing job with their recent spring clean up and mulching of our one acre property. The crew is prompt, courteous, and clean. They take pride in their job well done. After they cut the lawn, they even made sure the badminton net went back in the same location. One of the aspect I like about this company is that Pierce Shallis, the owner is very prompt with his response to all forms of communications. You can tell that this company appreciate their client's time. I would upload the pictures of our yard to show you what a great job they did. But cannot figure out how.

The landscaping, weeding and fall clean up went great. We were in the process of selling our home and getting it ready for the market, so needed someone that would do a great job and keep up the appearance while we relocated. They were great, our home sold in two months, and I was able to depend on them from across the country. Pierce is a great guy, very friendly, super knowledgable about the flora and east coast plants. It's great when someone recognizes all the plants and trees in your yard and knows how to care for each. Overall, their prices were a little higher than we were paying, but I feel like it was worth the upgrade in quality. Our previous yard team would leave cigarette butts from time to time and wouldn't go the extra step with debris from tree fall. Pierce and team do that without question.
