Smith Lawn Service

Robbery - 2 months of service, 4 cuts of my SMALL lawn. Grand total? $603.93 = $203.93 Total cost of service plus $400 windshield replacement for my Audi due to incompetence of the "lawn care professional" they sent over slinging gravel all over my car with the lawn mower and putting a huge rock chip in my windshield. Just know that this is a legitimate, and precise review of the services I received from this company. They didn't even put the right last name on my invoice... I spelled it out for them in MILITARY PHONETICS... See the attached photos for proof of my claim. Completely unprofessional, highway robbery, and I know I'm going to end up having to pay for it anyways. You've been warned...

I called the phone number associated with this provider - it rang and rang, then it sounded as if someone answered and then slammed the phone down. Weird. So I tried again, and a woman answered "Hello"? A little confused by the telephone greeting, as most businesses answer with "Hello, you've reached (insert companies name here), how may I help you?" I asked if this was Smith Lawn Service, and the lady responds that yes, it is. Okay, now that I know for sure I've reached the correct company, as we all sometimes make mistakes when dialing a phone number (and my prior phone call minutes before sounded as if someone answered and hung the phone up), I wanted to be for certain that I knew who was on the other end of the line. I begin to ask her if they can do an estimate for me, and she asks for what I need an estimate for. I begin to tell her that I wanted an estimate for cleaning gutters on my rental property, and before I could finish, she cuts me off saying "Oh, we don't do that, we're a lawn care company," I recently moved here from Virginia, and every company I've ever used, whether lawn care or landscaping has also done gutters. I was actually stunned by her response, because that is the very reason I called her company, as this is a normal practice anywhere else. I was seriously like "ok??" and she is like is there anything else you need? Since I was cut off originally to begin with, I just said no, and hung up. At that point, it wasn't even worth it to me to inquire about having this company come out and do raking and bagging of leaves - I'm sure she would have just told me they don't do that either. As for the company by itself, I'm really not sure how to rate it. I think if they get rid of this lady whose apparent job is to answer phones and tend to secretarial type duties, and get someone in there that is more business minded, they might be fine.

They are very dependable and do excellent work. I am very pleased with their quality of work. They mow, do winter care and spray my lawn. They are one of the better companies in the area. They charge by the size of the yard and job.
