Description of Work: I called Mr. Newman twice over two days and never received a return call. Even if a contractor isn't interested in the work or just busy, they should have the courtesy to return a person's phone call.

+ -1 moreThis was one of several people I contacted to get an estimate on replacing the sheet vinyl in my bathroom. I received a response via email rather quickly. It took several tries to get the gentleman to actually come to take a look, although he did at least call when he couldn't make it. Ultimately, perhaps 2 weeks after the initial contact, he came to my house and assessed the situation. This was on a Saturday. He said he would get back to me by Monday with an estimate. Several more days went by and he emailed me to ask if I wanted to upgrade to ceramic tile. When I replied that that was beyond my budget, I never heard from him again. That was almost three weeks ago.

+ -1 moreThey haven't done the work yet. They are scheduled to do it at the end of next week. The estimate was round $1000. They are going to be doing quite an extensive job for me. It's a laundry list of things. I decided to work with them because of the references that I got. The guy walked around the property with me when I met and talked to him. Overall, he's excellent. He's very professional and I'm happy with him.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from HandiWork LLC about 2 weeks ago. They are going to scrape and paint the outside doors, they are going to replace some wood work around the skylight and they are going to fix some part of the driveway and a door jamb that's rotted out on some French doors going out to the deck. They are going to do quite a few things for me.

+ -1 moreMike was fantastic. He returned my call the same day and came the next day to give me an estimate and look over the work that needed to be done. He was knowledgable, courteous, and friendly. He was able to give me an estimate on the spot and we made arrangements for him to start the work. He took his time and explained things. He seems to be well versed in several areas of repair. I highly recommend him. I have several projects that I will be looking to do in the very near future, and I will definitely call Mike.
Description of Work: Fixed 2 leaky pipes, replaced 3 parts for toilet, fixed gutter, fixed piece of vinyl siding, replaced 3 pieces of drop-down ceiling in laundy room.
