Inspections - Wood Destroying Insect & Septic Testing - Radon & Well Water
I called and they promptly made an appointment. Service person was on time. He spent good deal of time doing the inspection. I received the results quickly. The results were very detailed. I even used the results when I sold the property to prove that the home had a certain feature when the buyers inspection said that it did not. Intergritys inspector found this feature when the other inspector missed it. If I did not have this documentation it would have cost me thousands to put it in. Integrity SAVED me lots of money!
Description of Work: Great service, on time, accurate, attention to detail, friendly-great experience, I could not have asked for anything more. Thank you Integrity! Also---Integrity keeps me informed about new services and other interesting "home" news through email. They really care about the work they do and their customers!

Integrity Inspection was responsive from the time I sent them anemail via Angie's List asking about services offered and pricing to the moment I received my home inspection report. Larry is the owner and he is the inspector who performed my home inspection, water testing, radon testing and wood investation inspection. Larry was on time for our appointment and very professional. He was very patient in answering my questions and very discreet when the selling agent was present. His inspection report included all of the issues he raised during the inspection. He was very forthcoming in his recommendations on how to remediate each issues and was willing to provide recommendations and referrals for contractors to do the work. My overall experience with Larry and Integrity Inspections was fabulous! I would use them again, undoubtedly.

Integrity Inspection was very professional, from setting up the appointment to the inspection report. Our inspector John Alastick arrived on time and was very pleasant to work with. He was very informative and honest, answered all our questions. We had the inspection report emailed the very next day(sunday). He was concerned about a crack he found in the foundation of the house. When we asked him if he could recommend someone to us, he was happy to help. I had a few more questions and he was quick to call back and answer them. I would definitely recommend John to anyone who needs a home inspection.

I was purchasing a home in the Nazareth area and asked for recommendations from my realtor on who to use. That was my first mistake. You should never use one recommended by a realtor because what inspector would a realtor recommend that would find fault with the home, resulting in a lost sale? It makes sense. Later I was told this by some friends of mine that you should never do that. I should have found an inspector on my own, not one referred by a realtor. Larry arrived and we began the inspection. He seemed very trustworthy, knowledgeable and friendly. He had turned on the water to test that first and took a sample. He had turned on a few of the faucets downstairs and the water pressure was extremely weak, nearly reduced to a drip. He went out to the septic system and pulled the covers off the 2nd solids tank and the liquid tank. The liquid tank was mostly empty, so he said he wanted to fill it as much as possible to test the pump. However, the faucets inside the house had no water pressure, so it was impossible to get water into the liquids tank. I went into the house to check the water pressure and there was none. When I returned he was sticking a steel rod into the dispersion field to test it for wetness or something. There was none. I assumed at this point everything was okay as I new nothing about septics and well systems and this was my first time owning a house that had them. He was testing the heat in the house and only the first floor worked. I had mentioned that I thought it was probably the 2nd floor heating zone valve so he did not test the 2nd floor. He turned on the A/C and I went upstrairs to turn down the thermostat and he said the outside units turned on. He never tested the temperature of the air, but I assumed he thought they were working fine. After going through the rest of the house he said he found nothing wrong other than the 2nd floor heating issue I mentioned. He said he couldn't test the sump pump because he had nothing to reach the pump with. I hope it works as I have yet to see it operate. The report for the water test did show there was coliform in the water and that I could use bleach to correct that by pooring it in the well head. I bought some bleach and went looking for the well head. I couldn't find it. I called Integrithy Inspections and asked where it was and they said I'd have to go to the township to get a map. I thought, that would mean Larry didn't even look at it. I eventually found it under a decorative lighthouse fixture in the front lawn. When I lifted it up, the wires to the lighthouse were corroded and separated. The inspection occurred mid-December and I didn't move into the house until the beginning of January. I started checking out the house myself and noticed that there were a lot of problems. The wood at the bottom of the exterior door jamb to the laundry room was rotted. The pipes in the ceiling of the basement were laying on tin straps, corroding the pipes. I also went to replace the water sediment filter and found it was caked with 1/4" of brown sludge preventing nearly all water flow. I noticed that if you turned on faucets on the 1st floor that there was no water at all coming out of the faucets on the 2nd floor, which made me look at the water sediment filter. I replaced the sediment filter and water pressure returned to normal and I was finally able to get water to the 2nd floor. Within two weeks the septic system alarm went off in the basement. I knew it was the alarm because Larry helped me test it by raising the highest float in the liquids tank. I went out and checked and sure enough it was full to the top. I could hear the pump running though. I was so irritated by now that I called Integrity Inspections to complain. :The woman said she would have Larry call me, which he did. Larry said he tested the liquids tank and saw it pump down. I asked how he did that with now water pressure to fill it with. He said he was able to get water into it, but used something to trip the float. I never saw this occur, but yet he claims he saw it work. Larry kept talking over me and mostly prevented me from speaking to him on the phone. His brochure claims that if I wasn't satisfied that they would refund my money, but he claims to have done a good job and wouldn't not give me a refund. I asked about the rotted wood, the corroding pipes, the lack of water pressure, of which he wouldn't respond to. He just kept saying he tested the liquids tank. I didn't make any progress with Larry so I hung up. I contacted the BBB and found there were 2 other complaints filed against Integrity Inspections, unresolved. Long story short, I called a septic service company, but not after checking them out on BBB first. I learned my lesson. They came out and found that the impeller to the pump was rusted off and had not worked in months. The main pipe to the dispersion field was broken clean. Two of the outlets on the dispersion field were broken and the other two had to be dug up and were found to be plugged up. Two needed to be replaced and one had to have a new cap installed on it and they were all flushed out. The pump was replaced along with all the main piping to the dispersion field. $1,500.00 later it was working again. I called my realtor and told her of the problem with the inspection. I told her that I have no recourse to the seller now to obtain some of the expense for these repairs because the closing was now over. I am stuck with all repair bills. She asked if I had proof of this and I told her about the septic tank service report. She forwarded all my comments to Integrity Inspections and ask that they do the right thing and refund my money. That was over two weeks ago and I have heard nothing back from either my realtor or Integrity Inspections. I'll have to chalk this up to a hard lesson learned. I will always check out any service company through BBB from now on. I created and paid for an account here just to report this disreputable company in hopes of saving someone else a lot of money. UPDATE: 2/19/2012 Through the Better Business Bureau I was contacted that Integrity Inspections wanted to offer a refund. The conditions were not acceptable to me. They had offered to refund $275.00 of the total cost which was for the water inspection and the septic system inspection. However, they would only do this if I removed my report from the BBB and from Angieslist.com. The point that Integrity Inspection is missing is that your intent should be to resolve the issue with the dissatisfied customer to regain their trust, but this was not the case. They seem to want to buy off a bad report instead. I had offered that should I receive that refund, even thought the costs to me were much more substantial, I was accepting of the offer amount, but I would not remove the negative reports until I had received the refund. This to me would indicate that Integrity Inspections wishes to resolve the matter with my dissatisfaction with their performance. Furthermore, the response from Integrity Inspections is not completely truthful. The comment that "most if not all items" were in the report is not correct. There was nothing in the report about the rotting wood or the corroding copper pipes supported with tin straps. The septic tank pump was confirmed by the repair man that the shaft on the impeller was completely rusted and the impeller itself had not been moving due to this rust. Rust doesn't instantly happen and break a pump. It takes a long time. The septic had sat without use for several months, close to a year, so there was no possible way in the repairman's assessment that the pump had worked at all. The pump did run, but the impeller was not connected to the shaft any longer due to the rust and I inspected the removed pump myself to confirm this. The impeller was flopping around inside the pump base disconnected from the shaft. And also, there was nothing in the inspection report, nor verbally to me while the inspection was underway, that the flushing ports on the dispersion field were plugged and broken, which added to the repair costs. Lastly, nothing was on the report that the pipe going from the septic tank to the dispersion field was broken in half. To summarize, there was no report to take recommendations from and while on site with the inspector they never informed me of these issues so I was unable to have any recourse to the seller to repair said items prior to closing. And, the false inspection of the septic system was the cause of a considerable amount of money spent on repairs. Integrity Inspections needs to do what is right. The right thing is to come forward and refund my money for the requested services to set this right. I will then upgrade my report to a higher grade for their attempt to regain my trust and respect.
Description of Work: Larry (owner) was the inspector for my home. He was hired to perform 5 different inspections; termite, radon, water, septic and the home itself. The home has a well system, water sediment filtering system, water softener and also heated by a furnace and airconditioned by two external A/C units. The air handlers use hot water to heat the house from the furnace. The septic system has two separator tanks and one liquid tank and a dispersion field. I am expecting all of these systems to be inspected in addition to radon, termite and home.

Most, if not all of the items the member is dissatisfied with - are listed on the report. It appears he failed to take the recommendations on the report. So here is the exact wording from the report: Marginal water pressure noted when operating multiple fixtures. The water filter may be clogged or the pressure settings may need adjustment. This condition should be investigated and repaired as necessary by a reputable well technician or plumber. The second floor zone did not get hot. It is suspected that the zone valve is defective, or the zone is air bound. A qualified HVAC technician should be consulted. As far as the septic, The pump and system worked fine during the inspection. No one can predict when a mechanical device will fail. Lawrence Transue, President integrity Inspection Service

We thought home inspections were waste of money. Not anymore!!! We had a home inspection done earlier this year by someone else. The person just walked around and pointed out very obvious things that we could have found out for ourselves. Larry from Integrity Inspection Service was very professional and detailed. He found issues that other inspectors would have missed saving us $1000s. The price was quoted upfront with no surprises later. We highly recommend the company.

Mike came out to do a home inspection including radon testing and pest inspection. He was friendly, thorough, knowledgeable and immensely helpful. He spent several hours making sure he looked at everything and was very patient in explaining things to us as we went along. Our realtor was impressed as well and was surprised at how reasonable the price of the home inspection was. There was an issue of the gas not being turned on (it is an estate sale and there were some communication issues) and when Mike went back to pick up the radon test he checked out the furnace and water heater since he couldn't the first time. They were so helpful and we were very pleased!

We are in the process of purchasing a Farm house that was built in 1890. We brought in Integrity Inspection to perform our Home, Termite, Well and Septic inspection. I emailed them first and asked for a quote. All of their informaiton is online and easily available. It's in black and white so there weren't any questions about price or what to expect. Larry sent me an email and had me work with Arlene in the office. Arlene was clear, friendly and readily/easily explained all my options to me for the inspection and the pament of the inspection services. We scheduled with them and set the date/time right then and there. The day of the inspection, the inspection started around 1pm and come 4:30pm we were just finishing up. They were VERY VERY detailed in their inspection. If there was a crawl space, Larry crawled into it, if there was a hole, Larry reached into it, If there was a way to climb up and see something better, Larry climbed up there. We found that the house has a roof hatch, Larry climbed out there which gave him a great view of the tops of the chimneys. If it opened, he opened it, if it was to move, he check it, if it wasn't suppose to move, he checked it. Right down to the quality of the outlet covers, thermostat covers and various items in the house, he checked and rechecked. If something didn't sound right, he repeated the test to confirm what he was hearing (if anything). Larry kept his laptop there and updated the inspection report with comments, findings and details during the entire inspection. He walked around with his camera and took all kinds of pictures. He was very clear. If we had questions he would answer them and show us (where possible) what he was talking about. He didn't just go through and point out problems, he made sure we knew what was good also so that we really had no questions at all. Larry had someone there with him (I believe his name was Mike) that he was training and "showing the ropes" to. They were both very friendly and very polite. They inspected our new home, summer kitchen and garage and they were sure to be very detailed in all three. When it came time for payment I paid them with a check but they have MANY options for payment. At the time of my inspection they offered Cash (discount if paid in cash), Credit card payment, check, Check that would be deposited on the settlement date and payment with seller assist. We received our report the next morning. It was in my email before I woke up in the morning. We will also be receiving a CD with special offers and all kinds of information. The report was in PDF format and had all the descriptions that Larry typed in and pictures that he had taken with descriptions. On some of them there were red arrows and circles showing what he was decribing. We had one question on the report. We emailed Larry and asked. He replied right away answering our concerns. They also took the time to send my inspection report to my realtor so she was aware of the findings. I can not express how pleased my husband and I are with the work of Integrity inspection services. A very dear friend of mine is looking for a house and will be needing inspection services soon. I already gave her Integrity's information. They are going to give her a discount and send me a referral bonus. Even if I didn't get that bonus I would still recommend them. This is not my first time buying a house. I've actually bought multiple houses in the past. Integrity is by far the best inspection company that I have worked with!!!!!! I recommend them and if I ever have the need for inspection services, I will use them again. If I have friends who need inspection services, I will recommend them to my friends. Pride in work, honesty, reasonable! Rare qualities you find in a business these days but Integrity has all 3!

Larry did a good job of itemizing all the areas of the property with problems and areas that would benefit from updates. I would especially commend him for the huge effort he put into moving the massive steel plate in the middle of the basement floor thereby uncovered an abandoned ancient hand dug well some 20 feet deep and filled to the brim with water, a totally surprising discovery. Larry did a really thorough job and i would gladly use him again.

Larry Transue was great! I was able to set up the appointment online with Arlene very easily. Larry was my inspector and walked me through the entire house explaining everything very well to me. The report came to me very quickly and was extensive and detailed. Larry was so efficient he discovered issues that turned out to be very important and I am very grateful. I would highly recommend Integrity Inspection and have indeed told everyone I know to use them.
Description of Work: The service was for a home inspection. Larry inspected everything inside and outside, including going up on the roof himself. I understand some inspectors do not go up on the roof and inspect it from the ground with binoculars. By going up on the roof himself he was able to determine how bad the roof actually was.

I paid them according to the extent of inspection that they did. I would highly recommend them. It was a very positive experience. They were punctual. They took a lot of time to answer questions and explain things. I really felt like they went beyond what needed to be done. They were very thorough. I’d already had a couple of other contractors who had looked at the place and they found things that everybody else had not seen. The guy who came out was very nice, helpful and respectful. Their price seemed fair. I would use their services again in the future.

Tony came to the property we were planning to buy well prepared and on-time. He did an extremely thorough job of inpecting the property and provided both detailed and summary reports. The price was divided into two parts, one fee ($350, I think) for the inspection and $160 (I think) for the radon inspection. The Radon inpsection, too, was very well done with very professional reports both before the radon abatement system was installed and after.
Description of Work: Tony did a thorough home inspection and provided a very nice report of things found, good and bad. He also performed radon testing, with very nice reports both before the system was installed and after.

Had two inspection on two different properties. Because of defects they discovered in the inspection of first property we were able to terminate the contract due to major defects they discovered. Saved us from making a big mistake in the purchase. We found a second house that they also inspected and they found a few minor defect that were easly corrected. Did purchase that house.

We were thinking of buying a house which was part of an estate, so there was NO disclosure necessary, so we were originally planning on getting 2 inspections (since we had be burned by a bad inspection on our first home in Staten Island.. but that's a different story). After our experience with Integrity Inspections, we agreed, two would not be necessary, since Larry Transue did such a thorough job. Integrity Inspections was recommended by my real estate agent, and as I perused the website, I had some concerns regarding what would and would not be done. He quickly answered my emails. Larry Transue arrived promptly, quickly explained what he would be doing, and not doing. Addressed some of the concerns I had brought up in my emails. (mostly regarding pellet stoves and hot tubs) He discovered numerous things wrong with our little dream home. He explained everything as he found it, in plain English and assured us it would all be in the report. He was professional, efficient and thorough,. When the inspection was done the report he gave us was extremely impressive. It is all on a CD along with tutorials on issues that may come up with your home. Another big plus he is licensed in NJ ( where a license is required) but since PA doesn't require a license, anyone who knows which end of a hammer to use (and even some that don't) can become an 'inspector' (or a 'contractor' for that matter, which I find a bit disturbing!) which is why Angies List is a useful tool in trying to weed out the good from the bad, so I am certainly surprised that this region of PA is just getting going on Angies List! Since the homes biggest issue was the crawl space. He later sent a book that was sort of "everything you ever wanted to know about crawl spaces- but were afraid to ask" to help us understand what we were dealing with after all. Once the sellers submitted estimates, I forwarded them to him, and asked his advice, realizing this wasn't his role anymore , but he offered advice and opinions which were very helpful in us negotiating with the sellers to get the price adjusted accordingly. Of course they had low estimates, and the contractors he recommended came back with higher estimates, so we met somewhere in the high middle, due to some of the facts that Larry pointed out when he reviewed the sellers estimates. The inspection which included termites and radon, cost $525, which I really don't think is that high, regardless that their website admits that you will pay more than most inspections. I guess being from NY originally, I think $525 is a bargain for all the costs he saved me in the long run. I would recommend Integrity Inspection to anyone facing a home inspection.
