Pria Landscaping was recommended by Pocono Farmstand Nursery. We went there to look at stone for our driveway and steps. I called Rob, the owner, of Pria Landscaping. He came over, gave us an estimate for the job, and showed us what else he could do to improve the appearance of our yard. He and his wonderful team of workers built rounded stone steps for our front door, which I requested. They involved stones on each side of the house for plants (mulch and plants included), mulch around a tree in my yard and between two large rocks, and it looks very nice. The company also built rounded steps at the rear of the house, in two different areas. They also stone paved our driveway, which looks great. Oh, he also built up and smoothed an area on the side of the house where we park sometimes. They started the job September 4th, and the projected completion date was September 19, 2013, depending on the weather. They completed the job September 13, 2013. That is how consistent they worked. They were the hardest working young men I have seen work recently. The team was there every day from about 7:30 am to about 3:30 p.m., and the lead person came on a Saturday and worked. They were very professional. I truly appreciate their work ethic. It was delightful having them around my house working. I had errands to run and had no problem leaving them there. Rob came to see that things were running smoothly, often during the day and at times he worked with them. There was a lead worker there at all times working with the team. We are very pleased with their work and will hire Pria Landscaping for our next landscaping project in our back yard.

We came home to see disarray of the back yard.... The paid contractor Pria did cut up a fallen tree and remove stumps and left his machinery in our back yard which was used to do so. There was dirt and tread marks 3/4 of the yard, and even though our observation was at night and with a flash light it was clear there was a bit of ruins to get this work done that we were not prepared for. The problem- We had questions which we can say in all fairness- we should have brought out in the beginning in terms of how does the process works and how messy is this kind of job. Unfortunately, our questions came after, but by all means whether beginning or end we the paying customer have every right to ask a question. Rob who is associated with Pria as the owner or son- not sure of his title- well whoever this character is, he didn't feel we had the right to question his work on why the yard looked the way it looked... Pro- He filled the holes which we were going to make arrangement to do ourselves, and we appreciate that, but this was not agreed to do so- so with this we appreciate However, This Rob character was totally unprofessional when asked on the process of excavating the stumps. He informed us what planet were we from not to think there would be ruin to the yard, and how we should be lucky he charged us the price of $375, because a piece of his machine broke and he had to bring someone to our property to fix that cost him money to do so, and also we should be lucky he filled the holes, which as I mentioned it was not discusesed prior to do so. Then he insinuated "I knew I was going to have a problem with you paying me for the job". Like W**! Problem- one simple question led to a whole flurry of accusations and comparing me to a dog, and how his dog has more sense to know the process of removing a tree and what it involves..... After a long day of work it threw us for a loop how this character took his lack of professionalism to another level! He had judgements from us from the day he came down and we discussed the job needed to be done face to face, which should have been our clue to leave him alone- as his price was lower than a prior time we called for some other trees needed to be cut down, but again with the recent hurricane we had to come back to him as an option for these new trees and his price went down considerably. Conclusion- What we have figured is he may have had a problem that we we didnt hire him for that prior job we needed weeks back, and the idea we're calling him now and then questioning his work, was a mix of a whole spur of nasty words. I don't like for someone I'm dealing with to compare me to other customers. To assume you're going to get stumped on a payment or if you foresee a problem, it is that contractor's discretion to say they don't want to do the job in the beginning. We've never had any problems with any work done on our home - whether the service we used was crappy or not- and our checks do clear- thank you! So to be informed by an individual who quite frankly did sloppy work, and be spoken to as if we're the enemies ticks me off. If you're doing any kind of work with tree cuts or excavating ask the question mentioned prior before work is done, so it's not a total shock as to what the heck did they do! The bottom line the customer is always right- and especially in this case because Rob will get his payment Saturday as we planned to do for the job he did; however, we will not be using his services again. The next bbq with the neighbors we will blast his business and the shoddy work and more importantly the ferocious attitude on how he spoke to us. We're from New York- yes, that's right NY and let me say this whole episode could have gone another way but we're civil people at the end of the day! Dealing with Pria was an experience to say the least and you know it's bad when you're getting irate with someone you have to pay at the end of the day. The reason we're going to pay is simply for him insinuating we weren't so he had issues and assumptions from the beginning. We wanted a contractor and we got a grown man who may have an PMS episode-but either way we were not amused! Then on top of it he has the audacity to threaten to put our name on some list in our community as problem homeowners.... all for asking a question.... we get all this drama for one question for crappy work! I don't do well with threats so I use my power (all paying customers have just that the power) by hitting the internet and expressing our experience on Anjies' List, BBB, and the so many forums to warn customers. Maybe there's a reason no one listed this company good or bad on Angie's list prior.....
Description of Work: Due to Hurricane Sandy- we had 2 huge trees uprooted, and 2 others that were halfway down. We used one company to cut 3 , but they did not have the machinery to take out the stumps that were uprooted. We sought Pria to perform the needed demand of removing the stumps and cutting down 1 tree that was caught onto another tree.
