Sullivan Super Service Plumbing Heating & Cooling

They have only billed me and I have only paid $500.00 for the service, which seems more reasonable. They have sent me NO other bill. Obviously someone in the office headed off this bill as unreasonable and no further requests for payments have been made.

Techs from Sullivan completed the job as contracted without any difficulty.

He was prompt, arrived when he said he would and did what he said he would do. I was disappointed though because he charged too much. That's the reason why I was not happy and why I wouldn't hire him again.

They were on time and they called ahead to confirm the time and date. Everything worked perfectly after they left.

Everyone they send always does a great job for us. They are all professional and know what they are doing. After they are finished working, they always do a good job cleaning up after themselves.

I have been using them for eight years and have been please with them the whole time. I ve never had a hard time getting a hold of them and I ve heard that their price is a little on the high side, but I ve never tried anyone else so I don t know any better. They always put booties on their feet to not mess up the house.

They are very punctual, efficient, and great at keeping appointments. They are very good at responding to your requests for service and I feel that they are very professional. I would request their service because of the quality of their work.

I think they were very good and very expensive. We didn't have an access panel, so they had to tear down the ceiling to get to the leak. They did have to redo the drywall and the texture on the ceiling though. The leak is fixed now as well as the ceiling. I am happy with the work, just not satisfied with the price. They are great workers.

This contractor has done many jobs for us in the past and I have always felt they are extremely reliable and very courteous. They are the type of contractors that will take their shoes off in the house. I don t remember what he charged for the price this time out, but I do know it was reasonable and I will be having him out again this week to install a new boiler.

The technician arrived very soon after our Saturday night phone call. Tracing the problem was a puzzle because of the electric wire spaghetti in our old house. After finding the problem, the technician found that it was an old type of fuse that needed to be replaced, not one that is normally carried on the service truck. He went off in the middle of the night to search for the right fuse and finally located one at a 24-hr Wal-Mart in a distant suburb. He literally went more than the proverbial extra mile to get this done, which we really appreciated on a sweltering night. This type of excellent service is typical of other work done for us by this company. It costs a bit more but it's worth it.

My experience with this company was very good. I dealt with three different technicians over the whole five day period. They were all on time, polite, made sure things were cleaned up afterwards. I thought the price was high, but I haven't had any major plumbing work done for a while, so maybe the price was reasonable. Since it was somewhat of a emergency, I didn't have the luxury of getting several bids to check pricing. I'm not sure I would use them again because of the cost.

I was not pleased with the way they handled the fact that the service tech would be late. Their office should have called me and told me that instead of the service tech being at my home between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon like I was told the day I called them for service that he would be there later. I did not get the 10% discount even though the service tech told me that I was getting it. He charged me the rate that was stated in the pricing book that he shows. I think for the money I paid, I should have got a better job on the 1 1/2 inch plastic pipe waste trap job. I asked the tech about this and I was told that he couldn't do it any other way and there was no other way. I think there was. I don't mind paying a little extra for a good job well done. Also I am promised an extended warranty. But the service tech needed a contractor service number that he didn't know and as stated on the Extended service form that number is very important. EXCELLENT SERVICE AND QUALITY OF WORK SUPERB. WORKER ARRIVED TIMELY, PERFORMED WORK TIMELY, CLEANED UP AFTERWARD AND FULLY EXPLAINED WORK TO BE PERFORMED AND WHY IT WAS NECESSARY.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. PROMPTLY CAME IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. CLEANED UP ALL THE WORK & REPLACED FIXTURES PROPERLY. ACTUAL COST AGREED WITH ESTIMATE.

SULLIVAN CHARGES FOR ESTIMATES! I HAVE DIFFICULTY HEARING & WALKING, SO AFTER ACCEPTING SULLIVAN'S PROPOSAL, MY DAUGHTER ARRANGED TO COME FROM OUT OF STATE TO HELP OVERSEE THE JOB, REGRADING MY LAWN TO FIX A LEAKING BASEMENT. WHEN I LEARNED THAT A TOWNSHIP PERMIT IS REQUIRED BEFORE WORK CAN START, A FRIEND INFORMED SULLIVAN. LATER, WHEN I LEARNED THAT THEY HADN'T APPLIED FOR THE PERMIT, HE, MY DAUGHTER, & ANOTHER FRIEND CALLED SEPARATELY TO URGE SULLIVAN TO ACT. EACH TIME THEY PROMISED NOT TO START WORK WITHOUT IT. THE DAY BEFORE WORK WAS TO START, THE TOWNSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED NO APPLICATION FOR MY PROJECT, SO I WAS FORCED TO POSTPONE WORK. AFTER MY DAUGHTER'S ARRIVAL, SHE CALLED THE COMPANY REPEATEDLY: FINALLY THEY DECIDED TO RESUBMIT A PROPOSAL. WHEN I EMPHASIZED BOTH THE NEED FOR A PERMIT & THAT WE WANTED THE NEW PROPOSAL BEFORE MY DAUGHTER'S DEPARTURE, THEY AGREED. AS OF NOW, ALMOST 2 1/2 MONTHS LATER, THEY STILL HAVE NOT SENT ME A NEW BID.

THE PRICE STRUCK ME AS EXCESSIVE. THE TECHNICIAN'S PROPOSAL INDICATED THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED $465 (I USED A $50 COUPON) PLUS $100 MORE IF THE CAMERA WAS USED. HOWEVER, GIVEN THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE BLOCKAGE MIGHT BE IN THE NEW PIPE & THUS A WARRANTY MATTER, I AUTHORIZED THE WORK. THE TECHNICIAN DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE USE OF THE CAMERA. WITHIN A WEEK OF THE SERVICE, FOUL ODORS IN MY HOME SIGNALED THAT WATER WAS AGAIN RISING IN THE FLOOR DRAIN NECESSITATING A SECOND VISIT BY A DIFFERENT TECHNICIAN. THIS TIME THE TECHNICIAN HAD A BETTER CUTTING HEAD FOR THE SEWER MACHINE & SPENT CONSIDERABLE TIME MAKING SURE THE OBSTRUCTION WAS TRULY CLEARED. I WAS NOT CHARGED FOR THE SECOND TECHNICIAN'S TIME, BUT THE JOB SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME.

THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL AND CAME ON TIME. THE PRICE WAS WAY TOO HIGH. I FELT THAT THEY TRIED TO ADD ADDITIONAL WORK TO INCREASE THE COST.

VERY COMPETENT, COURTEOUS AND PROMPT. WHEN THE JUNIOR PLUMBER COULDN'T FIND THE LEAK, THE SENIOR PLUMBER CAME OVER AT NO EXTRA CHARGE TO HELP FIND THE LEAK. BIG FLAW IS THEIR PRICING MODEL. THEY HAVE ABOUT DOUBLE THE PRICING OF OTHER PLUMBERS (I COMPARED THEIR QUOTE FOR REPLACING A WATER HEATER), AND THEY DON'T GIVE THEIR PRICING UP-FRONT. YOU PAY THEM A STEEP UP-FRONT FEE FOR THEM TO COME LOOK AT IT. THEN THEY GIVE YOU A REALLY HEFTY PRICE FOR THE ACTUAL JOB.

THEY ARE REALLY NICE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH AND WE'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM. WE LIKE THEM AND TRUST THEM.

JONATHAN (THE SERVICE TECH) WAS EFFICIENT, PUNCTUAL. HE EXPLAINED CLEARLY WHAT HE WAS DOING. DURING THE INSTALLATION, THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY, JOHN SULLIVAN, ARRIVED TO CHECK ON PROGRESS (AND ASSISTED WITH THE WORK). THE COMPANY HAS BEEN VERY GOOD TO WORK WITH. (THEY ALSO INSTALLED A NEW AIR CONDITIONER UNIT FOR US A YEAR AGO, PROVIDING EXCELLENT SERVICE.)

THE FIRST TECH REPLACED THE THERMOCOUPLER & GAS CONTROL VALVE ON MY YEAR OLD HOT WATER TANK. CHARGE WAS $462 (LABOR ONLY - PARTS COVERED BY WARRANTY) FOR UNDER 2 HRS WORK, DURING BUSINESS HRS. INSTALLING A WHOLE NEW TANK COSTS LESS!! WHEN THE TECH LEFT, PROBLEM STILL WASN'T SOLVED. I CALLED TO COMPLAIN, SULLIVAN SENT OUT ANOTHER TECH THE NEXT DAY. TOOK THIS MAN ABOUT 15 MIN TO FIND REAL PROBLEM - EXCESSIVE PRESSURE IN GAS SUPPLY LINE & FIX IT. (DIDN'T CHARGE FOR THIS VISIT). IN MY EXPERIENCE, SULLIVAN IS USUALLY RESPONSIVE -YOU GENERALLY REACH SOMEONE AT ANY TIME, DAY OR NIGHT. THEY HAVE TECHS ON CALL AROUND THE CLOCK FOR EMERGENCIES. THE TECHS THEY SENT WERE PROFESSIONAL & CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. BUT THEIR FEES SEEM EXCESSIVE. I DID NOT KNOW THIS WHEN I CALLED, BUT SULLIVAN USES A FLAT FEE PRICING STRUCTURE WHICH IS UNRELATED TO THE AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT WORKING AT YOUR RESIDENCE. **THEY SHOULD DISCLOSE THIS!!** I FEEL I WAS CHARGED EXCESSIVELY & WILL PROBABLY NEVER USE THEM AGAIN

THE PLUMBER WAS ON TIME. THE PRICE WAS OUTRAGEOUS. WE WILL NEVER CALL ON THEM OR USE THEM AGAIN.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS VERY PLEASANT, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE WERE TOLD THAT THE UNIT WOULDN'T HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE TOTAL REVERSAL OF OPINION, THIS WAS OUR SECOND OPINION, WAS DRAMATIC AND UNIT IS PRESENTLY WORKING SATISFACTORILY. PLEASE SEE ACCOMPANYING REPORT ON GILLECE.
