They are a very good company. All of their employess are very polite and professional. I like that they don't leave a mess when they're through, and I am very satisfied with their reliable service.

Overall, the experience went very well. The plumbers were nice and honest; they could’ve easily charged me but instead fixed the problem at no charge. I’m happy with their services.

Equitable shut the gas off to one of our apartments on a cold Friday night because of a gas leak. None of our regular plumbers were available first thing Saturday morning. Sullivan was able to come out with short notice, which was great. They replaced the basement gas line and sent the tag back to Equitable. Two days later I was there for another reason and smelled gas. We called Equitable and they found the gas leak - same pipe as before. Sullivan replaced an older gas pipe that wasn't leaking and left the leaking pipe there. This was a cold afternoon. They wanted me to wait until the next morning, but our tenant was without hot water or heat, so I demanded that they come immediately. An hour later they were there, but couldn't fix anything because they needed parts. I think it was because they wanted to be done for the day. They said it would cost an extra $900, which I balked at. They credited the first $600 we paid towards the $900 total, which was still high, but we were at their mercy. They were an hour late the next morning. They were professional about everything and I won't say that I wouldn't recommend them or wouldn't use them, but they are a bit pricey.

I always want to say something good about them. They're good people and I've used their services for a long time. I recommend you call them.

We were always satisfied with them and they did the work expeditiously. The only reason we switched was because another company offered us a discount to do our plumbing work too.

They were on time, they did decent work and their prices were reasonable.

It was fine. We have not had problems since it was just yesterday.

Our furnace was not coming on so there was no heat our house. We have lived in this house for eight years and have had the furnace cleaned every fall. The furnace was working properly, then sporadically, then not at all. Two repair men from Sullivan arrived at our house on time and as speified and were shown to the basement. I told them the exact problem and let them go to work. They definitely cleaned the furnace because they left a huge sooty mess on the basment floor for me to clean up after their departure. Halfway through their service call, I asked them if they had determined why the boiler was not firing? Their response.....the boiler was broken, unfixable and I needed to have one of their "furnace consultants" come to my house, measure the square footage and sell me a new furnace. Oh, and on top of the new furnace, I was going to need a new thermostat ($600.00) and a new pressure release valve ($1600.00) When I told them that I was unsure of whether or not I wanted to have their "consultant" call me, they kept the pressure on, asking me over and over again to have their consultant to my house. I have bought many used cars in my life and dealing with Sullivan felt like getting the "hard sell" from a guy weaing a plaid sports coat, trying to sell me a twenty year old car, driven by an old lady and only on Sundays. My family owned hardware stores for fifty years and I never heard of any type of plumbing valve costing sixteen hundred dollars. Ultimately, they didn't clean up after themselves, they never diagnosed the problem or fixed it and they forgot to turn the furnace back on after they left. I had to call another heating company the next day, who did fix the problem and surprise, surprise, I didn't need a new furnace.

Called for weekend emergency service. Service rep arrived about 1 hour after making call. He assessed the problem and provide an estimate. He performed the repair by removing a leaking T-pipe junction and replaced it with new copper piping fixing the problem. Repair took about 1 hour.

They were professional and punctual in coming out and giving me the quote.

We have had positive interactions with them. We have a yearly contract with them and it is called preferred customer service. The receptionist is super courteous and she gets the appointments scheduled within one or two days. They come out promptly and on time. They fix what is broken.

I reminded him that we were looking at some dripping faucets. He said he had to have $50 for just howing up. I gave him a $10 out of my pocket and sent him on his way and someone else. My wife's cousin who was visiting from out of state came by sometime after that. He happens to be a be a master plumber and I told him my story. He said there was absolutely no need for a water pressure regulator and then fixed the leaky faucets for about $5.

The repair was done in a day but after the repairman left, I discovered had broken the pipeline on my sump pump and I had to have some help getting it repaired. The gas company did seem impressed with the work that was done

I think that they do good work and stand by their products. They are not the cheapest, but I think that they always do good stuff for us. I would use them again in future.

my furnace (in my new house) stopped running during cold weather. I called Sullivan because there was a Sullivan sticker on the furnace, so I assumed they were familiar with it. Someone came out quickly and fixed the problem. Then they continued to examine the furnace and found that "they would have to shut it off for safety reasons." they said they could send someone out to talk with me even though it was the weekend He was a great salesman and after a few hours talking sold me what was a mid-priced deal in his book. I could not afford the furnace and AC at $8,000 so got only the furnace at $5,000. I was aware that that seemed a high price for the size of my home, but was convinced that the furnace and the work would be very good quality. He said they only carried the best brand, were a family business and would take care of me. They could come on Monday and do the work, so I agreed. The work was done by an inexperienced person. I know nothing about furnaces, but I could see it was a very sloppy job, and could hear noises I never had heard before. I had to have them out twice before they agreed to "fix" it. They said they installed another new furnace, and the installation did look more professional. I feel they took advantage of my situation, and am not even sure that I did need a furnace. I will never call them for help; I have nothing but distrust of them and their work.

We weren't very happy with them, because they wanted to do extra expensive services that didn't need to be done. When they went away, the dishwasher was still broken. Before they went away, they had me pay them for the service contract on my heater and air conditioning system. Looking in hindsight, I can't believe I paid them to come back to fix something that should have already been fixed. The parts they suggested were really expensive. They actually told me the air conditioning system needed to be replaced.

Two men, a technician and an apprentice, arrived in the scheduled two hour window. The problem was a leaking faucet. The job took less than 30 minutes (not counting the time it took for them to leave, pick up the replacement valves, and return. They purchased them at a plumbing supplier across town rather than going to a plumbling supplier a few blocks away.) In removing the old valves the technician scratched up the polished chrome button cap on the right handle. Before leaving they indicated that they would contact me about a replacement, but they never did. (I subsequently purchased one from Kohler for $2.50.) The charge of $300.00 was said to be the book price for the job. Since the job, I priced the valves (something I should have done before the service call). They retail for $15.00 each. Clearly, a job taking 30 minutes with parts costing $30.00 does not warrant a $300.00 charge.

We had a major problem with our heating system, which is steam heat. The whole system filled with water due to the malfunction of two electronic components, and a radiator began to leak. At the time the estimate was provided the Sullivan employee did not realize two components needed to be replaced, and provided the estimate based on replacement of one component. After replacing this component, he realized the second part also needed to be replaced. However, he stuck to the original estimate and did not charge us any additional money. They were at our house at least six hours over two days. Thank you Sullivan!

On some cases their prices can be a little high. They routinely clean my heating and a/c unit. Bi-annual cleaning. They have also installed an A/C unit. They do a good job.

Wonderfully. We received four estimates and, though Sullivan was the highest, we wanted to work with this company because of their quality of service and overall professionalism. Understanding our budget, the company adjusted the cost so we could afford to have them do the job. We could have saved a little more, but going with Sullivan, we are confident with our decision and feel that as customers we are in good hands for the life of our new furnace.

Sullivan answered my call promptly and 2 men showed up at my house on time. The plumber seemed uncertain of exactly why my faucet was not working. He was willing to try to fix it by replacing parts but that would mean I would be without a kitchen sink for several days. Since it was 2 days before Thanksgiving I had to replace the faucet. The plumber was willing to get the new faucet and come back the next day to install it. We made the arrangements to do that. He charged me the $50.00 for the house call. I had a coupon for $25.00 from The Yellow Book but he said it did not apply to the house call fee. After the plumber left my house I made some phone calls to other plumbers and found one who would install a new faucet and charge me by the hour. I called and canceled with Sullivan. I paid $123.00 to another plumber to have my faucet replaced. I will call the other plumber again. I will not call Sullivan again.

Sullivan Service is a company that truly focuses on customer service. I've noticed this through all of my years of hiring them. The sales rep. was also very knowledgeable with heat pump and furnace, and he gave me a lot of good information. I completely trust him with the advice he gave me. Sullivan also did a great job with the installation of the heat pump and furnace.

Sullivan arranged to check and diagnose the blower motor within a day of calling--even though they were swamped with calls from the hot weekend weather. The heating/AC person came that same week, measured my entire house, discussed all of my options, and gave me a written estimate. I got one additional estimate, which was $170 cheaper, but I was far more impressed by the thoroughness of Sullivan's questions, answers, and estimate. I scheduled the work, which was slightly delayed by their installer's illness. The work was rescheduled in a timely fashion, everything was replaced and the workmen completely cleaned the area, and my AC now works perfectly. The new system also includes a programmable thermostat, and the humidifier has both a sensor on the main intake duct to monitor the humidity in the whole house and a remote sensor that I can place anywhere in the house to check temperature and humidity. Very spiffy! I am extremely pleased with the whole experience, and happy to pay a little more to get a first-rate system and such good work.

Courteous and polite. Could not ask for much from a company. This was excellent experience form start to finish and every aspect of the service.
