Sullivan Super Service Plumbing Heating & Cooling

There were a couple small issues that caused the new toilet to not work properly, but their technician returned & fixed the problem on the same day. We've had no problems since & are very happy w/ the services we received.

The first guy told me it would cost me over 1,000. The second person they sent out for the work couldn’t do the work. They were too expensive and they couldn’t do the job. They were nice guys, but I would never call them again.

It turned out okay. I think they're good.

replacement of outside faucets was done very well -- but it seemed very expensive.

I am updating the below review to state that Sullivan Super Service refunded $200 of my money after I wrote the review posted below this update. So I am now more comfortable with the price. I would say they shouldn't have overcharged me in the first place, but at least they had the decency to recognize that their price was too high and give me some of my money back. So they deserve an upgrade. Technician Bob. A.of Sullivan was punctual fixing our air conditioner and seemed to know what he was talking about. It was a hot July day and we have pets in the house and as my husband works from home he decided to call Sullivan to get our central air conditioning fixed right away. We were told it would be $99 to do a diagnostic of what was wrong with the air conditioner and additional money if need be to fix it. We accepted those terms. When Bob showed up he looked at our ac and said that he thought it needed a new capacitor. My husband asked him how much extra that would cost. Bob looked at his binder and said $397, but that if we would sign up for a one-year service and inspection contract with Sullivan for $202.80 we would get 10% off the capacitor installation cost--$40--and the $99 diagnostic fee would be waived. My husband agreed to the install, but then as Bob was doing it checked online to see how much an air conditioner capacitor costs. He saw a similar model of capacitor to what Bob was installing for between $30 and $50 online. He also saw posts online from other people who had capacitors replaced that said a service call + the capacitor typically should cost $150, not the $397 Bob showed my husband in his binder. So we were being charged more than double the typical price for the capacitor install. My husband confronted Bob with this fact after he had installed the capacitor and yet because we are honorable people and agreed to the deal beforehand, we paid Sullivan what they asked.

All of the employees were professional, it was easy to schedule the appointment date/time that I wanted, the scheduler kept me informed as to when the technicians would show up. Brandon (service tech) is friendly, communicated well with me about what he was doing & why, & finished the job in a reasonable amount of time. I would use this company again.

All services performed efficiently. There were no leaks or any other problems after service was completed. The service person (Joe G.) was friendly, knowledgeable and patient while waiting for my wife to arrive with new faucet. He was punctual. Setting up the appointment was easy and we even received a phone call telling us when he was on the way. We will use their service again and have no problem referring them to friends and family.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I didn't like them. When I called them, I told them I have this coupon and I told them it was for the camera and then they came out without one. It was so bizarre. We were sick of them, we didn't want to follow up. We're not sure we wanted them to come back.

We have a low profile one-piece toilet that requires holding the handle in the down position to release the water. I have attempted to repair it many times, and in fact, had a handyman attempt to repair the toilet, but to no avail. Finally, it works properly...thank you Sullivan Plumbing! I was disappointed, however, when I asked the technician to replace two washers in my shower while he was here. I asked him the price and he told me $181.00 for a minor facet repair....YIKES!!!! No travel expense. No added expense other than a penny or two for the washers. Just a little more time. Other than that, I would recommend this company for plumbing repairs.

The Sullivan serviceman (Brandon) did great. He diagnosed the problem, temporarily fixed the drain by snaking it and suggested a permanent solution. Exactly what I wanted.

It worked out very well. They pulled the furnace apart and cleaned the whole thing before the winter started.

All work was done well, quickly and on time. Tech discovered that the UV Air light was turned off at switch (but don't know who ever turned it off) Checked all the refrigerant pressures, operation etc. Replaced the air filter. Note: the plumbing work not covered under the PCP HVAC work would have been somewhat expensive, except that I had purchased one of the special promotion offers - $79 for $255 of work. I have always found Sullivan to have skilled, polite quality techs. I have never had concerns about the quality of their work.

It went great. I was easily able to make an appointment and they were right on time within the time frame given to me. Joe S. was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything that needed done and once the work was completed, explained what he had done.

The original call was to stop leakage by an outdoor faucet. It turned out that the faucet on the adjancent stationary tubs was also leaking and needed to be replaced. There were problems and the entire set of stationary tubs needed to be replaced. The quote for what was anticipated to be done was a bit steep but, when the other unanticipated work was factored in, the price was reasonable. They stuck by their quote, regardless of what else turned up.

They are prompt, know what they are doing and very nice men.

The technician (whom I think was Brian) arrived very late because of some emergency situations with customers. However, the office kept me apprised of the situation during this time period, and I totally understood what it's like to BE in an emergency situation. As long as they were going to get here no matter what that day, I was fine. Brian took a lot of time going over every aspect of the systems (I have two), and I felt I could state with confidence to future buyers that both systems were A-OK. He was extremely pleasant and professional.

They thought they could not fix the outdoor faucet without opening up the wall...but they did, indeed, fix it. Very nice job!

Valve replacement went perfect. Additional work to clear a storm sewer drain had a not so perfect ending. We paid $800.00 and the drain still isn't clear.

Bob from Sullivan Service talked to us about our plumbing concerns. He did a full inspection of the whole house. Identified the problems and immediately gave us a complete and itemized estimate. We completed the repairs that were necessary at that time, and will have the other items (non urgent) taken care of at a later date. Bob left everything as he found it. Very clean and professional. He also wore shoe covers. Sullivan Service contacted us to reschedule a couple of times, but arrived as promised on the final date set for service.

I thought the prompt service and cost were great. The only thing I didn't quite care for was the technician's continual attempts to sell other services. I understand that's where they can make additional money, more than the Angie's List price, but once or twice is expected. Any attempts to sell me beyond that is excessive.

The plumber performed a sewer inspection free of charge. He did not bring a DVD to video the inspection that was performed so we did not have record of the inspection. He was not able to complete the sewer inspection due to blockage within the house and he offered two solutions for the problem. He could hydroflush the pipes to remove any blockage or replace the line under the house. He was friendly and said he would send us a quote within a few days. My husband called because we did not receive a quote or summary of service/findings after a few days. My husband repeatedly called saying we needed the quote for our inspection on the house and it was due by the end of the week. This did not seem to matter to Sullivan plumbing as they never gave us the summary of service or quote within the timeline that was agreed upon due to inspection timeline restrictions. We received a handwritten quote by MAIL weeks later and it only contained a quote for the most expensive suggestion and said nothing of a summary of service. After telling our real estate agent who we went with, he said it's well known to NEVER use Sullivan. Lesson learned, never use Sullivan, even if they offer a free inspection.

I called this company to replace a hose bib that was cracked over the winter. The person that answered the phone was extremely polite, and scheduled our service. The day-of service, they said they were going to have to reschedule. As our only outdoor source of water, it was getting cumbersome to use a little watering can, filling it up several times in the house. They said they could come later in the afternoon (second schedule shuffle) and ultimately had to cancel for another day the following week. I told them when I would be available, which was fine, but they showed up about 40 minutes prior when I had to leave and pick my son up from school. They wouldn't be able to come back that same day, so I had to leave the technician in my house to go pick up my son. They mentioned they would have to dig around the hole inside but would seal it back up. We recently had our basement refinished, so while all the paint was fresh and clean, I understood there would be some touching up to do. After the technician left, there were chunks of debris all over the floor, obviously the caulk that will have to be painted (significantly darker than the walls), and dirty smudge marks all over our walls and ceiling, which will also have to be repainted now too (matte paint doesn't scrub well - seriously, I didn't think I would have to worry about black smudge marks on my ceiling!). Both the technician and the person taking my call were polite, but I will not be using this company for service again.

They were supposed to make arrangements to do a video of the sewage. We called them several times and they got back with us to make those arrangements. We called them for about two months and then just never bothered calling them back because they weren't calling us. They never made the arrangements for video inspection of the sewage line. I felt like I didn't get what I paid for.

The plumber was delayed but the company kept me in the loop which was good. He came late afternoon. The part was pricey but needed it fixed so went with the price. He was very good with getting the valve replaced. Had issues with the water being turned on and he kept troubleshooting until the issue was resolved.
