The worker was curtious, knowledgeable, and professional. He gave us tips on how to prevent the faucet damage in the future and was nice enough to take a look at some other faucets that gave us trouble. It was a good deal, and we would definitely recommend them in the future.

I contacted them about the deal of $79 for $200 worth of plumbing work. I asked for an approximate price for a simple job (install one toilet). The person would not give me an answer and said they would have to dispatch a technician to give me an estimate. I could buy the deal at that time if I wanted to but if I declined I would have to pay a $50 service charge. I declined.

The service went really well. It did seem like they used the Big Deal to try and sell other services. However. they did do a good job on the work they did.

Ever since I got them from Angie’s List, I used them exclusively for plumbing. They are very professional from beginning to end from the person you talk to on the phone to the people they send out. They are polite and friendly but not too much. They are pleasant to deal with and at the same time professional. The cost is a little on the high side but I think it’s worth it because I recognize that they don’t just pull numbers out of the air. The person who comes has a very huge notebook and he looks up the parts he’s going to need and he does the estimate right there in front of you. No questions about whether they are doing favor for friends or charging you more because it looks like you can afford it or any kind of that stuff. They always use high end parts which make me, at age 70, think I probably won’t have that work done again. I’m just happy from beginning to end. They do not say that they need parts for this and then go away and make you wait a week or 2. If they can’t get a job finished because they don’t have the part, they are back the next day. They don’t leave a mess. They bring with them things that looks like shower caps that they put over their shoes when they come in. They do a very good job. They leave everything the way they found it. They don’t move things around and then leave them someplace else or leave stuff behind. I really am happy with them. One of the services they have that I like a lot is that I pay $19 a month and for that, twice a year, they come and inspect the furnace at the beginning of winter or the air conditioner at the beginning of summer and make sure that everything is going to function properly and they always do a check of everything else like the water heater, water pressure or whatever else it is that would make a routine check of the plumbing system in our house. They are very thorough.

We bought the coupon for them to clean out a drain for $69. He did that but then said it needed further work. This is not a mystery in an older house. He gave us an estimate of $15,000 to clean the roots from a drain that in total was about 20 feet from the main sewer -- if we did it in two days, reduced to $13,000, and if he did not replace the 10 feet of asphalt he had to remove, $9,000. This is the biggest rip off I have ever heard of and I will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau and everyone else I can think of! The estimate was all preprinted. They will not return phone calls to discuss. BEWARE of this COMPANY By the way, the drain works fine now without the extra $15,000 in work.

They were great. They were prompt and came out and did the job well.

Toilet required 4 return visits to get correct. Seems basic for a plumbing company and was somewhat frustrating and inconvenient. They did however accept responsibility and returned promptly when called and were very professional in their handling the situation.

It appeared that the faucet spray was leaking. I purchased a replacement directly from Delta. It is a very easy replacement part since it is designed to simply snap into place. Unfortunately I broke my wrist and was not able to do the replacement myself. At the same time a Big Deal was advertised that indicated $79 for $200 worth of any plumbing repair by Sullivan Plumbing. I called Sullivan to inquire whether this would cover the replacement of the Sprayer. I was told that it should. Sullivan scheduled me for the next day and the technician arrived within the designated time. The Technician inspected the sprayer and under the sink. After turning the water off, it took him approximately 15 minutes to change the sprayer out. He indicated that the cost would be an additional $68 since the standard price for this repair was $268. He also noted that left side strainer/drain appeared like it was leaking. He gave me prices to replace the sink strainer/drain for one side and both sides and replacement of the shut off valves. To replace both sink strainers/drain and two shut off valves was $1192.00; for left side strainer/drain and 2 shut off valves $922.00; left side strainer/drain and shutoff valves was $741 and to just replace the left side strainer/drain $499 with a $50 discount fro $449. I declined any further service. The day after he left, I noticed that there was still water leaking under the sink. I called a local plumber who I have dealt with before. He replaced the left side drain for a cost of $150.00 compared to the $449 that Sullivan was going to charge and the $147 fro 15 minutes work replacing the sprayer. He also indicated looking at the old sprayer I kept that there was nothing wrong with it and that the handle probably just needed tightened. While Sullivan was in my house for approximately 40 minutes, the actual repair which I requested took less that 15 minutes and probably should not have even taken place after inspecting the sprayer. This is the third time I have used a Big Deal and never will again. It was not a "deal" since Sullivan just upped the price anyhow. They were not giving a deal.

Brandon did a great job. There was some trouble finding the source of the clog, but Brandon kept at it (even after the rain came). I ended up paying an additional $100 for the job due to the distance from the house to the sewer, but it was money well spent since we can once again run water, use the garbage disposal and flush toilets without fear of. . . revisiting (in the garage) what should have been washed away with a flush.

Serviceman was very friendly and helpful. Though their quote on installation of new condensate pump was high (in my opinion, I replaced myself), I signed up for their semi-annual inspection and filter replacement services, as that price was more reasonable

A deal is only a deal if the value of the services provided is market-priced. In other words, if I'm paying $79 for a service that would cost $200 at the going market rate, its a deal. Yay. However, if the provider chooses to price their service at 4 to 5 times the going market rate, not only is the deal itself no deal, but you end up paying more for the same service even with a deal. I had a pipe that burst and needed to be replaced. It is 1 foot of copper pipe and would have taken about an hour of the plumbers time - as admitted by him. At the going rate of $80/Hr for plumbing in the Pittsburgh area and about $20 for materials, the job would normally cost about $100. Even $150 would be reasonable. And even if it took 2 hours for the same job, the total would still be below the $200 value of the deal. However, this company said that regardless of the size of the job or the time it takes or the nature of what it is they need to do, their list price for this work is $643! So, you apply the $200 value and I would pay over $400 more. But, they offered a deal at $350 for this and I only have to pay $150 more! So, in the end, it would cost me more than market pricing and the company that offered the so-called deal makes more than if they didn't offer the deal. This to me is a devious way of doing business. They have every right to price their services at whatever they want, but they should put that out up front when they offer the deal. So, I respectfully ask you to cancel my purchase of this deal - as it is clearly not a deal and is in fact a rip-off.

Showed up on time, did the work competently.

I called Sullivan because they had installed my furnace several years ago. There was some sort of water/fluid leak near my furnace I wanted them to check out. Also, I could not remember the last time my furnace had received any kind of preventive maintenance. I explained to the technician who came out that there appeared to some kind of leak, and that I also wanted them to check my heating system over completely, as it had not been done in recent memory. They quickly fixed some apparently minor problem which was causing water to pool near my heater, and then proceeded to give me a sales pitch for buying their signature Super Service Plan (SSP) for a monthly debited fee of $12.90 per month. I signed the SSP contract, and they left. The next day, I had a separate company come to clean all my ductwork. When that technician was here he pointed out that I should change the filter in my heater. When I called Sullivan and asked why their workman had not changed the filter while he was here the day before (as per my SSP contract he sold me), I was told that in order for him to do the yearly preventive maintenence check I had to call to schedule such work. The guy had neglected to tell me that I had to make a call after signing an SSP contract, in order to get any 'Super Service Work'. As such, I had to take another day off work the following week for my SSP maintenance call. When the same technician came again, he supposedly performed my preventive maintenance inspection, and gave me as 'clean bill of health' on my heater. However, he told me I had a gas leak near my furnace. He then proceeded to do another 'sales job' on me --- this time proposing to a) replace ALL the gas lines in my house for $4,127; b) replace the entire gas line from the heater to the appliance associated with that gas leak for $2,034; or, repair just the place where the gas line was leaking for $935. I thought it strange that he did not 'red tag' a leaking gas line for safety purposes. I reasoned that it could not be that serious then, and indicated I wanted to discuss his proposals with my wife before committing to spend between almost $1000 and $4000. I then called Beverly Services and their technician came to give me a second opinion. He explained that the brass fitting at the shut-off valve where the leak was appeared to have a minute crack where it had been torqued too hard when joined with the steel pipe feeding that valve. Since no one had touched that coupling since the appliance it went to had been installed some five years before, such minute leak had apparently been brewing since that time. Beverly Services then replaced that cracked shut-off valve for $134.40, plus a 'trip charge' of $49 to diagnose the problem. So, instead of paying between $930 and $4127 to fix my gas leak, I paid a total of $183.40!!! After the Beverly technician left, I started to wonder about the SSP work that had been done the week before. When I opened the chamber for the filter, I found that the filter had been changed --- and a new filter with holes in it had been installed!!! Now I'm wondering whether, and how badly, I got taken on the inital cost of my initial heater installation in 2009. I called and cancelled my 'Super Service Plan' immediately. I do not trust these guys. I would not believe anything they told me about the need for, or scope of work, to be done. I concur with the opinion of another of the reviewers on this site who called Sullivan Super Service a scam. How can there be a difference of between almost $800 to $4000 to purportedly properly fix the problem of minor gas leak?

The technician was here 2 times to try to fix the 2 toilets. He replaced a part in one of the toilets that had been recalled by Sloane. I was under the impression that this would fix the problem. However, it did not and the toilet paper would still not go down. He tried to fix the Sloane flush enhancement but was unable to. He tried to fix the other toilet which was leaking and was unable to as well. He came back again after getting a different part and he was still unable to fix it. He called the Sloane Company to try and figure out what else he could do to fix the problem but they were also unable to fix the problem. I appreciated him being honest with me in him not being able to fix the problem.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I think it was fine. I wasn't actually there, my son was, but I think it worked out okay. There were no extra charges. I think they came out on time.

It was okay. He found a leak in one of the pipes for the toilet. He cut the supply line and capped it. Now we are with a bathroom in our basement. We are now down to one bathroom. He did not notify us before he cut the line, he just did it. He did what he had to do to stop the leak. He did not have the equipment to fix the toilet. I am probably going to have to buy a new toilet, because it is old. It would have been nice if he had asked us first. I would not use him again.

Total scam. Although I once trusted this company, I have now had 3 unsatisfactory experiences with them. The 1st was resolved but thereafter the 2nd and 3rd service calls they made (all for different service) have been poor. The 2nd experience occurred when I purchased a furnace cleaning package; although they had installed the furnace, the service man came to the house the following year without the proper filter and told me I could just pick one up and change it myself. The 3rd and final transaction I made came with the purchase of sewer cleaning package. This was a total fiasco and I sincerely feel this was a scam to get me to allow them to dig up my basement. Never again will I contact this company. Even when I contacted the owner, I feel I got the run a round. I was promised that someone would get back to me and I haven't heard from anyone from the company at all. I am remodeling a bathroom this year and will definitely not be using them or recommending them to my friends or family.
