Description of Work: Home Depot delivery men were not allowed to touch a gas line shut off valve unless it was near the oven. Ours was in the basement. So I called several plumbers to get the oven installed today because we'd been without an oven for almost a week. None do that kind of work or were not available for a week. I found Dan on Angie's List.

Description of Work: Applied some exterior caulking. Increased price by $100 after he finished. Acted like he was giving me a break knocking $50 off.

Description of Work: Dan did numerous small jobs. He did them just fine. I will use him again. His pricing was fair. I don't remember what all the costs were. Nothing was over high.

Description of Work: I had a whole in my kithcen counter, he made me a breadboard that is beautiful, I hadn't had it in years. He took care of a leak in my bathroom ceiling. He saw the baseboards and put vents in it. He fixed the spring on my screendoor.

Description of Work: Dan installed a ventless log insert in my exsisting fireplace in my living room. He was here twice once to do some measurements and once for the installation. The fireplace already had a gas hookup so he only had to unhook the previous hookup and run a new line from it to the new insert. I thought it was a little pricey because he was here for about an hour, but he did do a good job and made a suggestion about cutting a steel platform to fit the fireplace to help raise up the insert so it can be better viewed which worked great. Something I would not have thought of. This was included in the total price of the installation. The one issue I do have since it was installed is that it gives off a certain smell that I attribute to either residue left from the inside of the firebox of the fireplace from previous use or because this is a ventless unit and may be common to this type of insert. Dan was very prompt, courteous, and professional, and I would probably use him again.

Description of Work: WE WERE BUYING THIS HOUSE AND PART OF THE DEAL WAS TO REPLACE THE SKYLIGHT BEFORE CLOSING. SO THE REALTOR RECOMMENDED THIS "HANDYMAN " TO DO THE WORK.......... SO HE WAS SUPPOSED TO COME OUT AND REPLACE THE SKYLIGHT, FLASHING AND ANYTHING THAT HAD TO DO WITH THE SKYLIGHT. SO THE HANDYMAN IN QUESTION AND THE OWNER CAME TO AN AGREEMENT AND THE WORK WAS STARTED. THE SKYLIGHT WAS INSTALLED FOR AROUND $800.WELL THEN HE HAD TO COME BACK AND TRIM THE INSIDE SO THE OWNER GOT CHARGED ANOTHER $400.00 TO DO A TERRIBLE JOB ON THE INSIDE.SO WE MOVED INTO THE HOUSE AT THE END OF NOVEMBER , SO THERE WASNT MUCH IF ANY RAIN FROM NOVEMBER TO MID MARCH, SO WE DID BUT NOT NOTICE ANY PROBLEMS EVEN WITH THE SNOW MELTING. SO AT THE END OF MARCH WE HAD A RAIN STORM AND WATER WAS COMING IN THRU THE DRYWALL IN THE BATHROOM AND LEAKING INTO THE GARDEN TUB IN THE MASTER BEDROOM. I CALLED DAN THE HANDYMAN, HE SAID HE WANTED TO COME OUT AND LOOK AT THE PROBLEM . WELL IN THE MEANTIME, I CRAWLED UPON THE ROOF TO FIND TORN SHINGLES, WHICH WERE TORN UPON INSTALLATION OF THE SKY LIGHT. MIND YOU THIS ROOF IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. I CAME TO FIND FLASHING THAT WAS NAILED THRU AND CUT, ALSO THE TORN SHINGLES WERE GLUED DOWN SO NO ONE WOULD KNOW THAT THEY WERE TORN AND BROKEN. SO AT THIS POINT , I DIDNT EVEN WANT HIM TO EVEN LOOK AT THIS BECAUSE IF HE COULDNT DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. WELL HE SAID SINCE I DIDNT WANT HIM TO COME OUT HE WASNT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. OK , SO MY WIFE CALLS VERY UPSET WITH CONCERNS , AND HE COP AN ATTITUDE WITH HER AND A SMART MOUTH. SO AS I KEEP IN CONTACT WITH THIS DAN THE HANDYMAN....THE STORY CHANGES...NOW HE TELLS ME THAT HE DIDNT EVEN DO IT, HIS BUDDY DID IT.WELL I HAD SOMEONE ELSE COME OUT AND LOOK AT IT AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE $500.00 TO PULL AND RESET THE SKYLIGHT. I CALLED DAN THE HANDYMAN AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD PAY FOR HALF!! O.K. GOOD TO GO! I TOLD HIM THAT THE GUY WAS GOING TO DO IT ON A SUNDAY, AND DAN TOLD ME THAT I TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS GOING TO DO IT ON A MONDAY! NOT TRUE!! SO I CALLED DAN AND TOLD HIM THAT THE REWORK WAS COMPLETED AND HE TOLD ME NOW THAT HE WASNT GOING TO PAY HALF. I TOLD HIM THAT IS WHAT WE AGREED ON AND HE SAID TO FAX HIM A BILL AND HE WOULD SEE WHAT HE WAS GOING TO PAY FOR AND WITH AN ATTITUDE. SO HE BASICALLY LIED BY TELLING ME HE WAS GOING TO PAY FOR HALF AND THAT HE ACTUALLY INSTALLED THE SKYLIGHT.

Description of Work: He fixed a leak in my sunroom roof and fixed an in cabinet garbage can holder.

Description of Work: I had damage to a wall and floor caused by a roof leak that I was unaware of. Dan came and assessed the damage and recommended that I call my insurance company. The insurance company did not cover the damage to the floor and wall that Dan fixed, but they did cover some other incidentals. Dan reduced his initial estimate of the damage since i had to pay out of my own pocket. He did a great job and cleaned everything up when he was finished. You would have never known anyone was working on the room, except that all the bad wood and plaster were replaced. I would call him again!

Description of Work: Dan performed a variety of odd jobs. From fixing a broken garbage disposal to repairing our refrigerator. He also hung tracking in our garage , repaired trim and sanded and stained dowels on our railings going down the staircase.

Description of Work: Called Dan to get an estimate for work that was not completed by the last Handyman. He came and looked at the work,gave an estimate and stated he would call me back. Suprising he did call back as promised. Most companies/individuals do not call back even when they state they will.He called and we agreed upon a day and time. He completed the work which included changing out electrical outlets, putting up a towel rack and a new paper holder. He is professional,prompt, neat, and personeable. Would use again.

Description of Work: Roof repair for a minor leak. Put some nails in my roof to fix a loose ridge vent and filled some nail holes that were supposed to be used when the ridge vent was installed with caulking/tar so that no water could get inside.

Description of Work: Removed old and replaced with new adhesive floor tiles in a 70 sq ft basement area Custom built small, wall mounted wood shelf to cover exposed water meter Replaced ceiling tiles and grid work in a 60 sq ft area. Painted new grid work that matched existing. Fixed front concrete steps. Filled bottom of top riser and holes at rail posts. Removed and replaced light ballast in light fixture.

Description of Work: I had a problem with a water leak around the tub area. In my mobile home it was running over to the hot water heater. He was the first guy I called. There was no answer. I didn’t leave a message, but he called back. He wasn’t able to make any definite arrangements, so I called someone else.

Description of Work: He put up curtain rods and brackets on 5 windows.

Description of Work: He installed a two hand rails in my bathroom and fixed my cupboards.
