Description of Work: Horizon inspected my heater to determine why it would not stay on. It was determined that I just needed it cleaned. That debris has prevented the sensor from activating. Since then, all is well. The technician was very personable and provided additional information on future services/replacements.

Description of Work: I arranged to have Horizon install a new kitchen faucet and run a water line for a for our fridge ice maker and water. The installer came out on the 15th of August. He was here for about 3 hours. After he left, I found the faucet did not get any hot water and the ice maker and water for the fridge was spotty. I called back Horizon and they said that someone would be out the next morning. A different installer came first thing the next morning and re-ran the water line (correctly this time) and re-installed the faucet so that the hot water line was not kinked. While I was pleased that Horizon made it right, I am not happy that it was completely messed up the first time and I feel that they charged way too much for the job in the first place. Considering the poor work and the high cost, I would definitely not recommend using this company for any plumbing work.

Description of Work: Installed new gas furnace and air conditioner. Good service - next day installation! People are pleasant to deal with. My only hesitation is that their prices are higher than their competitors. They admit this but say they make it up by installing high quality equipment and in providing great service. So far we have had only one (scheduled)service visit (annual checkup/tune-up) and are satisfied so far.

Description of Work: Replaced part of lateral sewer line,used the sleeve method were they slide a new piece of pipe through the existing space. It seems to have worked very well,no problems since.

Description of Work: I called this Co for drain cleaning and was told that they could not do it |because access was from the roof. Several months later, I called them to replace a heater boiler and to install baseboard units and was told they do |not do that work. Won't call them again.

Description of Work: Fixed a broken pipe in the wall leading to main shower. Had to cut a hole in the wall. Responded quickly. Fixed the problem. Problem solved. They were neat and clean. Very polite. I found them far more expensive than I expected, but leaking pipes in walls eventually cause far more damage. What can you do? (Date is approximate)

Description of Work: Hot water heater and entire HVAC system (with humidifier, carbon monoxide detector, and programmable thermostat) were replaced with new, energy efficient equipment. Hot water heater work was done by one technician on one day, and the HVAC system work was done by a team of technicians on the next day. Technicians arrived promptly for scheduled appointment times and were very courteous and professional. They fully explained their work and answered all questions asked. Work areas were left as clean as when they arrived, and all debris was removed by them. Work was very costly but definitely needed and done well. An HVAC technician will be coming out again in a few weeks for a maintenance inspection of the unit. I have also used Horizon for some plumbing problems -- leak with kitchen sink plumbing, replacement of a toilet, and unclogging of drains. I'm very satisfied with them as a plumbing/HVAC vendor.

Description of Work: I am a landlord. I have used Horizon for 15 years for various properties. I called to have this heater serviced for fan noise. The technician pryed the front panel open and told me that the heat exchanger was rusted. He told the tenant that she would be poisoned with carbon monoxide. I told him that he couldn't tell that without inspecting the unit, but if that was the case I wanted him to RED TAG the unit. He refused to do that and stormed out and left me a bill. By this time the tenant was hysterical about having her family poisoned from CO, I called another company to install a new unit. They reported to me that the subject heater was old but still functional and safe. I replaced the heater anyway. |When the bill came for $90.00, I called Horizon and spoke to customer service. I told them that I thought this is a policy where the technicians are 'selling' new equipment and using scare tactics, since I had this happen with Horizon in 2013 with another heater. They voided this bill and have NEVER called me again, although I used to receive calls monthly from Horizon for free inspections on several heaters that they had serviced in the past. I suspect that Horizon decided that they didn't want me as a customer, the feeling is mutual. |

Description of Work: Horizon has been my HVAC provider for many years now. They installed our heat pump about 5 years ago. We have an annual maintenance agreement with them. Our thermostat went blank and we lost our AC on Saturday afternoon of what was supposed to be a very hot Labor Day Weekend. Initially dispatch was scheduled for Tuesday, but after explaining some special circumstances and concerns, it got moved up to Sunday. A professional, courteous, and responsive technician arrived on time and quickly solved our problem. The thermostat and A/C was up and running before he left. This was all covered under our maintencance agreement. While he was here, at our request he also changed our air filter (for the standard fee), as the filter was really dirty and we were planning on having it done in the near future anyway. An example of many years of reliable quality service from Horizon in the HVAC area, which is very important to us.

Description of Work: I thought I had a clogged drain, but it turned out I had a tree growing in my drain pipes! Ken, the first gentleman to come out, did everything he could to try and open up the drain. I mean everything! There are two drains (original and addition), and he used his machine on both. He was at my house for about 3 hours, and waited while the borough came out to try and help us find the (covered!) vent, to help with the next phase. He was wonderful! He made sure they understood this was an emergency situation, and within a couple of hours, Alex was at our door. He was patient and thorough, and ran the camera that showed the pipe full of dirt and roots. We had to go out of town for a few days, so they came out first thing Monday after we got home. The team was amazing! Jim headed up the team (with Mike and Mike), and later more help showed up and other eyes. This job was a PAIN. I watched them and followed the whole process - it was truly amazing - and by the end of the day, they had burst a new pipe through the old, dug up both drains (over 6 feet down), replaced everything, hooked it all back together to make a beautiful new system, and replaced every bit of dirt, raking it out and throwing new seed down. This was expensive, and unexpected, but I have a lifetime warranty on the parts, and 20 years on labor. And it's all brand new, done in one day! They were professional, they weren't bothered by my presence, and they made sure that they had the best solution before moving forward. I truly appreciate that, since I believe in doing it right the first time, so you don't have to go back and fix it.

Description of Work: Horizon Services replaced our old furnace and air conditioning system. The price was good, the warranty was great, and all of their employees were very professional. We would definitely use Horizon again.
