mixed results, but they made it right

Actually, my husband was here for it, but he thought the cost was reasonable, I remember that.

They’ve been punctual and provided good service. It’s the orange truck that advertises everywhere. I think they’ve taken over the state. We’ve got a contract with them, so it’s on-going. We signed up for a contract where they come out twice a year.

It was okay. They were on time courteous and friendly. I found out I'll be needing a new Air condition system in the near future. I'll have them come back install it

Great. The installers arrived on time and completed the install in one day. When work completed they cleaned the area so you would never even know they were there.

Same-day response on "dead" A/C. VERY pleased to get the quick service. Capacitor replaced, but NO warranty provided on service or parts. Tech recommended much more extensive and expensive repairs to obtain any warranty on continued operation. System has been performing well with the repair, more than 30 days ago. I WOULD contact Horizon again if I needed immediate service, but I have since learned their pricing is high compared to other companies. This was not special pricing for expedited service, and appears to be the standard pricing. Horizon was the first company I called for this problem. They were able to respond promptly and I did no comparison shopping. Background: This is a high-velocity SpacePak split A/C system that requires specific expertise to install or service. The compressor and fan unit is similar to standard forced-air A/C systems, but the air-handler and condenser unit in the attic is specialized and needs to be carefully balanced during installation. System is 12 years old, and had been working well before this failure. Tech insisted that replacing the capacitor was a "band-aid" repair, and system would require more extensive repairs soon. Cost estimated for repairs were 40% of what the entire installation (including all new ductwork) cost 12 years ago. Obviously, no one can predict how long any mechanical system will operate. The recommendation for expensive repairs was frightening, and the estimated cost for those repairs caused me to begin an frantic search for replacement of the entire compressor unit. This is a high-velocity SpacePak split A/C system that requires specific expertise to install or service. There are not many companies with experience in these systems. Our specific installation was added to a home with radiators for hot-water heat.

The reason I gave them a D on price,the price is crazy high and really all they wanted to do is sell me a whole new system. SO the guy priced the repair about 10% lower of the cost of a newer system. He said well you might as well buy the system its like they sell a salesman out.

I've used them for years and am very happy with their service.

It was high. Every time the technician showed up at the house he recommended replacing all the units. We are talking 10 years. I'm pretty close to the neighbors around here and he conned one of them into replacing their unit and it cost them way too much.

We have an annual maintenance plan. They installed a new AC system last year. It broke the Thursday before Memorial Day. They were able to come out the next day to look at the problem. They were able to come out and take care of our needs that Saturday.

I would call them again. I was happy. I felt the price was good and reasonable. The quality was good. They were right here. They were very professional in what they do. I would give them a call right away.

They are a big company. They advertise on TV, so they're not a Joe Schmoe. They were fine. I thought they were a little pricey, but they give you all this stuff supposedly for free. They check this, that and the other. Every company is expensive. They were nice and friendly. They were right there on time. That's the big thing in their TV commercials, if we're not on time, it's free. They go on this big thing, all our workers are clean cut and courteous. He was fine. Not that I care that much if they're clean cut and courteous. I just want to get the daggon thing fixed. I could care less, do the job, I don't care. Those clothes cost me an arm and a leg. He was on time. If he wasn't, it would have been for free. This is the thing, when I say pricey, they get you there and they'll sign you up and they'll come out all the time to check everything, so it ended up, the whole thing was like $700, but it included them coming out an checking before the next heating season that everything's working properly and all that sort of nonsense.

They are good at fixing things and come out anytime but they charge way too much. They wanted 13,000 to replace my heater and air conditioner I got it done with someone else for 7000

They are great. They do heating, cooling, and plumbing. We are members with them. Its a thing they kind of do. They do good work, and are professional. They come out twice a year. Its like $218 a year.

I've never heard from Horizon at all, not so much as an acknowledgment that I had bought their "deal", and appealed to Angie's List for a refund as I no longer trusted these people nor wanted anyone so unreliable anywhere near expensive equipment. I was apprehensive, as the "deal" said something about "no cash back" and I wasn't sure what that meant. However, Angie's list promptly made good on this offer and refunded my money. Now I hope the really intense heat will hold off until I can get a different company to do the work. (The date of service below is the date I purchased this deal that never happened. I've never had any contact with this company.)

Contacted Horizon because central AC not blowing cold air. Was told that the compressor went up and suggested a new system. Sales rep went over options and suggested a system between approx $14,000 - $16,000 for 1650 sqft home. Asked sales rep to honor $3,000 discount coupon after he gave us estimate. He said that the price was already included. This would have made the normal price $17,000 - $19,000 before rebates. This price seemed absurdly high. We were dissatisfied with the price and sales rep's response. We were called by customer svc dept and sales rep the next day for follow up. After telling them that the price was very high, they offered to discount the units. HGH came the next day for second opinion. After giving HGH service rep history, he suggested looking at compressor before discussing new AC options. He repaired a small plug on the compressor. Neither AC or the compressor needed replacing. We called Horizon CS to request a refund of service call and told them of HGH's finding. Their response on mis-diagnosis was "...we stand behind our technicians." They apologized that we were not happy and refunded the service call. Based upon our experience, I would not recommend Horizon under any circumstance.

Additional recommended repair work drove the tune up to over $700. Took about 1 1/2 hours. System is 15 years old so repair recommendations seemed reasonable but who knows?

I've used them a couple times. They didn't charge me anything.

They were really helpful because it was a new system that was a year old installed by someone else. The technician was helpful in making adjustments. The worker was there for less then two hours, he put on his booties. I said you don't need to do those and he said "no we do"and I thought that was really professional.

I am not very happy. I am trying to find someone else. They do plumbing, they do electrical. They do a number of things. They were punctually and they did what they set out to do. I think they should focus on solutions other than trying to sell you a new system. Every visit for the last year a a half has been trying to sell me a new system. It is an agenda, and they would rather focus on that than fix the problem. Professionalism is up and down, but overall a C. I would not use them in the future.

It was very good. They were the highest when they came in with the bid. They did work with me on the price, and came down on it.

I had the Platinum Plan, under the plan they charged $120. The plan is for the spring and the fall. I did not have a great experience and I am thinking about changing them. I will probably grade them an “F” because they came in and gave me the wrong diagnostic. They told me that my A/C needed to be replaced, so I had to call somebody else to fix it. I think they need to have more qualified technicians. If I had not consulted with another technician, I would have changed my A/C, which is very expensive. He was telling me to replace the whole A/C, the computer board was wrong or something. The company is good and I have had all of these great experiences, but this experience was a horrible technician. So, from that I don’t know if I could tell that the company is not good or how can I say that. Overall, I think the company’s quality is very great, but I had this horrible experience with one technician.

That experience was great. They came in on time, it was quick and everything was great, nothing bad.
