+ -1 moreThe work progressed slowly as the land was cleared. The pace seemed to increase as the building was put under roof. Then the pace seemed to slow as the more detailed interior work was being completed. But this is simply the nature of the building process. And in some cases, the decisions which we made about changes to the original design, the kind of flooring, etc. caused some things to have to be redone or modified. This too caused some contruction delays. And as the home neared completion, the work seemed to take forever, primarily because we were getting increasing anxious to move in. The reality is that Chuck and his people took enough time to do the job right. He cheerfully endured owner imposed changes during the construction process. I have heard horror stories about the home building process or the contractors from others who have had a home built. I can truthfully state that I never had the first issue ..... thanks to Chuck Nelson and his people.
Description of Work: C.E. Nelson and his crew constructed a custom home in a period of 13 months from date on which the land was first cleared to the date of completion, ready to move in. He modified the original design as requested adding 6' to the rear of the house in one section and 2' to the width of the house. He sub-contracted only the following items: tree removal, drywall/plastering, counter tops, roof shingles, gutters and driveway asphalt work. The work which he and his people performed was of extremely high quality. If Chuck did not like something, he had it redone until he was satisfied. We never had to request that a portion of the work be re-done or corrected. His standards exceeded our own. He was that good! And his crew, though small, demonstrated a personal involvement in making sure the work was done to our satifaction. The crew was multi-talented, especially capable in woodworking, painting (both interior and exterior), flooring, custom tile work in the bath and showers.
