We've lived in our home for 6 years and have never used our fire places, though we had them inspected and cleaned once (by a chimney sweep we got from the yellow pages and who tried to tell us our entire chimney was collapsing inward, though we had just gone through a major home inspection only a few months prior!!!). Now that our kids are older, and after the last brutally cold winter, we thought it's about time to get the fireplace in order, clean the dryer vent and also get the oil boiler flew cleaned out (we have a contract with our oil company, but it's not in their interest to clean the flew -- if the boiler flew is dirty, you use more oil!). Lou returned my call the same day and was able to schedule an appointment for the same week, despite it being his busiest time of year. Lou told me upfront how much the initial inspection would be, plus what additional charges I could expect if he had to do work above and beyond the inspection. Lou came on time and was very polite and professional. He got right to work and took the time to walk me through everything he did and what recommendations he had for future work. He did not try to give me a hard sell for any additional work and said that our fireplace was completely safe to be used. We will definitely have Lou back for further service and I would highly recommend him.

I contacted Lou via email and he gave me an estimate for a level 1 inspection of my chimney and basic cleaning. He was on time, pleasant, neat, and very thorough! Lou mentioned code issues about our fireplace surround/mantel that had never been noticed--EVER--by any of the 8 other sweeps we've had visit the house. He also left notes for the roofer that's going to be coming in to ensure that we got a "cricket" behind the chimney to bring it up to code and avoid a possible water issue. I wasn't sure that going up on the roof was part of the deal (it's not for every sweep!) but up he went and has helped us avoid another potential problem in the future. Lou is professional, straight forward, and efficient. I would highly recommend him!

He did a great job. I think he is a really good guy, and very professional. Also, he is timely, competitively priced, and cleans up his work areas very well.
