Description of Work: I contracted prior to leaving for Boston (my husband needed chemo & a SCT for a life threatening condition). I was extremely emphatic that the job MUST be completed by August 23rd. Upon our return, my husband COULD NOT be exposed to any construction dust etc. ...allowing 90 days for a small 8x10 bathroom, I was assured was MORE than ample time. My son was nearby & oversaw the progress on an almost daily basis & I was only a phone call away. There were minor changes necessary from Day 1 (due to an unexpected chimney discovery) but if the original design was adequately researched. ...this could have been avoided. |There were days when three people were supposed to be working and either no one showed up or only one man was working, so the progress was extremely slow. The end result was that the bathroom was not complete when we returned. Really dumb errors could have been corrected before our return. For example a shower that is 7 feet above my head with no way to make adjustments could have been changed out in a timely manner. Now, seven months later, there are many cracks in the tile grout and it has become obvious that the tile was not adequately leveled. The shower glass was to have been specially treated, it was not. |Additionally, my son asked that I not be disturbed during some critical days in Boston. Immediately after talking to my son, Mr. Toth telephoned me to ask for $2000 so he could go on vacation. This was not professional. This vacation money was not written in the contract. No payment was expected at that time. |To conclude, I do not recommend this company

Started two weeks late on May 16th instead of May 2. Mr. Ball the owner called and said he would start on the 9th but that date passed without a call so I had to call him. He made some excuses and he said he would be ready to start on the 16th. One worker, his son showed up and got the job started. He was very enthusiastic. Another worker came for most of the time through June 15th when they finished. The job took much longer than I was led to believe. Except for Memorial Day they came every day during this period. They worked on the guest bathroom for 13 days. The master bedroom bathroom took them about 7 days and they seemed to be in a rush to complete the job after a visit from Mr. Ball soon before they completed the job. As slow as they were most of the time it seemed they really picked up the pace the last few days I suspect they were encouraged to complete the job. After their departure I had some problems with faucet leaks and some poor work in both bathroom with the tiles, grout and caulking . I called his work number and cell phone without success. Also called the cell phone of his son who performed the work. Sent messages to Mr. Ball's email which he had responded to prior to beginning the work. Despite repeated attempts I did not hear from Mr. Ball until September 13th. In the meantime while I was trying to get a response, I had another contractor come in and give me an estimate of the problems which I submitted to my credit card company. They agreed to put a hold on the payments for $5000. I think that is what finally encouraged him to respond. About September 19th his son and another person spent the entire day making repairs which at the very best could be called satisfactory. He claims he was ill during this period but where were his sons who are featured on his website as part of his team. Was everybody sick?
