While I was out, one of the brothers knocked on the door saying they had extra asphalt and would provide a good deal on repaving. When I returned, one person was already prepping the driveway. I found out that my husband had been interrupted from his very technical job and in a moment of insanity, he had agreed to the repaving. He wasn't sure what the cost would be, but he's far too trusting and assumed that it would be a fair amount and the fellow was honest. I cannot comment on how long the repaving will last, but found the mode of doing business to be totally unacceptable. He said the paving should last 28 years, but his receipt stated a warranty of one year. The other reviewer said he got a warranty of 3 years, so it sounds like it's been shrinking. When I found several really bad reviews (including 7 complaints to Better Business Bureau) on line and questioned the other brother about his business practices, he became very indignant and starting naming local people that he had done work for. I tried to contact one but they were on an extended vacation and just left a message to that effect on their answering machine. I doubt that he really did much work for them, since most of their driveway is unpaved. According to my usual general contractor, the area was not properly prepared - edges should have been dug out with stone set in as a base. We'll see what happens - there's already a low spot with water sitting there after every rain.

Paving quality was inferior and when we had problems of substantial cracking within 3 years, Michael Harris would not make the repair despite the fact that it was within the written warranty that I had been given with the paving contract.
