When Bill Vandegrift left the family's original location on South Main St in Doylestown, he was told that customers would never travel the 2 miles outside of town to shop. After all, Vandegrift's had been on South Main Street since 1936. As everyone has come to find, Bill Vandegrift, Inc. is still going strong over 46 years later. Bill and Ginny began the business together in the New Britain location in 1962. In the early 1970's, their son, Bill, joined the business while still in high school. The company philosophy was based on being the most customer oriented appliance dealer possible. While Ginny worked in the office, Bill Jr would handle the installations, and Bill Sr would take all the service calls. Even as the business grew and employees were added, the standards never changed. Each customer could be assured that they would receive the personalized attention they had come to expect. Now with the fourth generation of family in the business, Bill Vandegrift, Inc. maintains the same personal business approach Bill and Ginny began. Over 5 expansions and unprecedented growth, the business model remains the same. What a wonderful experience with BV! We could be happier with the service we received from Dave! The best in the business. We purchased a speed queen washer and dryer and love them so far. They are life changing for our family. This is our second time using BV and have been blown away each time!

We love Vandegrift’s for our appliances! We have had our dishwasher, microwave, and washer and dryer installed and each experience was seamless. They also took away our old appliances and left things clean and neat. Each person we have dealt with has been helpful and knowledgeable.

This dishwasher was our second purchase with BW (other was a W/D earlier in 2023). The salesman, Dave, was straightforward and listened to our needs before making a couple of recommendations. Installation was professional, technician arrived on time and made sure everything functioned properly. We would purchase again here - prices are competitive to big box stores and supporting a small business is a plus.

Our first dishwasher that was delivered, had to be returned because of the height of the flooring prohibiting installation. A second dishwasher, which was an ADA model fit. It was a difficult removal and installation, but everything worked out.

The owner Lindsay told me she would call her attorney if we left a bad review. Her intimation did not work. This was our third and FINAL purchase. We bought a dishwasher and paid BV to install it. The installer partly installed it, but he did not have all the parts, and he told us he would be back in a few days...he never came back or called until we had the machine removed from our home. The dishwasher would not dry, and they stopped working altogether. BV was no help, and we did call the manufacturer and were able to get a refund only because the manufacturer stepped in . BV still charged us for an install they never completed and refused to refund it, and the dishwasher was removed for being a lemon. It was about $290. I even offered to split it and was told NO...total rip-off for charging us for something that was NEVER completed We try to buy mom & pop but this kind of purchase you are better at big box stores. Thank you, Lowes, for saving the day Thanks to the manufacturer for stepping in when BV ignored us PS, always use a credit card here. We made the mistake of using a check.

We were cheated. what we got was the owner trying to sell us a used floor model at full price and when we had them install our downdraft and the installer took many trips and many days to complete what should have taken him a day. we complained and then didn't hear back. No bill was sent and then months later they are trying to take us to court for an inflated cost on install and extra for the papers served.
Description of Work: We hired Bill Vandergrift because we thought we would get professional and personal service. We had them install a stove and downdraft.

Description of Work: We had a glass cooktop replaced. Price was very competitive and included installation. Only 2 business days between my call and when the appliance was installed. Service man called ahead, arrived on time, performed an excellent installation and showed us how to operate the appliance. All done very professionally.

I have purchased new appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator) and had old appliances (washer, dryer, refrigerator) repaired by Bill Vandergrift on several occasions over the last 5 or so years. Whether it's Daryl, the salesman, the installers, the servicemen, orthe schedulers, everyone there has been professional, courteous, responsive, and honest, and the prices reasonable. I am stunned, quite frankly, by the negative reviews because I have never had anything but a positive experience here. This morning I explained that I was desperate, that my washing machine had broken down while I was having a lot of other things going on (car trouble, for example) and someone was here to fix the washer within the hour. It's a very old Maytag Washer and, a couple of belts (and one removed child sock later), it's back to working much better than before.

Description of Work: Bought Viking stove and microwave and Meile Dishwasher. No problem with the installation of the dishwasher. Stove and microwave have had several problems. Microwave start button had to be replaced (orig. button stopped working); new control panel and unit had to be replaced; after taking out the old stove there left a bare spot which they put up a stick-on piece of |plastic which does not stay on because of the heat from the stove. Just this month the light to the microwave clock had to be replaced but we did not go through this company to have it replaced. Also when they were bringing in the stove they hit an antique dest and chipped the wood. They were going to give us $95 to have it repaired which we did and then deducted $50 from the service for putting the strip underneath the cabinet and we ended up paying $47.70. The whole experience was very frustrating!

Everyone that I dealt with was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They are a smaller company not a box store or giant chain. So you receive personal attention and excellent service. I have also used their service department for a repair issue, had a very good experience. Quick response and service call and issue was resolved.
Description of Work: I purchased a new washer and dryer recently. A couple years back I purchased a refrigerator. I visited the store and showroom, also called with follow up questions and arranged for delivery.

When I call the office and leave messages for Bill Vandergrifts she actaully answers the E-mails that I sent to him. To date I haven't spoke to him at all. The appliances are Fridgerdaire and I didn't get the extended warranty on them so the company won't even talk to me. They are only about 2 years old now. The first call was made while under warranty and it wasn't fixed. I am so tired of this and am thinking of calling another vendor to repair before they break even more. Description of Work: I ordered a oven, micorwave, dishwasher and Fridge, Freezer about two years ago, the Fridge/Freezer cracked on the inside and the oven was broken right after I got it, it is digital to date they repaired it one time and I called and asked them to repair it because it didn't work. I have the E-mails from them as well telling me that they were looking into it. I never heard back, at that time they put caulking on the cracks of the fridge, and looked at the stove and were getting prices for the repair. At this point the microwave is cracked by the handle. I live with my daughter and we aren't that h appliances. They are self destructing. I called again today and was told my contact Lyndsey was in the office, after they heard that it was me all of a sudden now she is out of the office. I left a message she hasn't called back in mont

[member name removed], Thank you for expressing your frustrations and concerns. We are still willing to help you out with these issues. Since your first email , when you came in to visit, to when our installer came out to look at your microwave , our main goal was to complete the work and to satisfy you. Since day one I was trying to work with frigidaire to resolve the issue and possibly get you a new refrigerator. As soon as they stated that they would not help you because its outside the one year, we gave you a few suggestions that would work. At that point I sent our tech out to silicone the crack. The reasoning behind that was so the crack would not get any larger and cause you any further issues down the road. The only other way to resolve the issue was that we were willing to give you a discount on a new unit. As for the range, I went thru frigidaire to see if they were willing to help with this issues as well. Again they said since it is outside the warranty their hands were tied. We were willing to give you a discount on the parts and labor, but you refused the service on the range. Finally, our installer went out to look at the microwave, we met your neighbor at your house. As per your email you stated that the installer was very professional and explained how he thought something was dropped on the door. We are very sorry that you are frustrated with what has happened with your appliances but we are still willing to help you out. We chose Bill Vandergrift because we wanted good service for all of our new appliances. We had 2 major problems with the appliances they sold us and they could not fix either one. In our opinion you should purely shop for price when buying appliances. Because the service you get from a premium distributor like Bill Vandergrift is no better the home warehouses.
Description of Work: Three years ago we built a new house. We bought all new high end appliances from Bill Vandergrift. (Sub Zero, Kitchen Aid, Bosh, Scottsman). From day one the Bosh Nexxt 500 Plus clothes washer had problems. It would shake violently and stop spinning and leave the load soaking wet. This would happen with large or small loads. Since the machine was new the Vandergift tech came out and said the problem was the wood floor. We moved the machine to a concrete floor and it had the same problem. Bill Vabdergrift was unable or unwilling to help and said we should contact Bosch. We did contact Bosh and they were also no help. With in 3 years the Scottsman ice maker (still under warranty) stopped working. I disconnected it and brought it to Bill Vandergrift to be repaired in November. It took a month for them to tell me that the compressor had rusted out and the machine was a total loss. I reminded them that it was under warranty. Weeks later the got back to me and said the parts are under warranty but the cost to repair it would be $1,200 in labor alone. A new machine costs $1500. We were charged $35 evaluate the totaled machine.

It went great. They are a great company to use.
Description of Work: I had Bill vandegrift's company come out and install all my appliances. We had a couple issues of scratched appliances and a warranty issue. They were professional and took care of the problems immediately. I would recommend them to anyone. Also Lindsay was excellent to deal with. I can't say enough nice things about her and how she went the extra mile to help me with a warranty problem. It is hard to find such nice great responsive people. I appreciated it.

They were responsive, professional and fixed the problem the first time. Recommended.
Description of Work: I purchased all new high-end appliances from this dealer which came with a one year standard warranty. During this time they repaired the refrigerator ice maker and the gas range, both under warranty. When calling for service they were polite and scheduled the repair for the following day. The repairman was punctual and professional. The refrigerator ice maker only needed an adjustment.. One week before the gas range went out of warranty it needed service for an electrical issue. I described the problem in detail over the phone when calling for service. By doing this they were able to diagnosis the problem and send a new circuit board with the repairman to fix it in one visit. It took him a total of 15 minutes. Out of curiosity I asked him what this repair would cost if not under warranty. The circuit board would have cost $350 and another $150 for the service call to install it. This seemed very expensive to me. To be fair these prices came from the repairman and not from dealer where it may have been less expensive. Overall I was very satisfied.

They were polite on the phone, told me the rates for just coming to look at it and evaluate the problem. They were able to send someone when I could meet them after my work. He was prompt, professional and knew his stuff. He got it up and running temporarily until the control board could be received and replaced. The price was very high for the whole job but I think the part cost a lot.
Description of Work: The fridge part of my french door refrigerator freezer stopped being cold, freezer was fine. He fixed it enough to work until the part came in that fixed it for good.

Darryl was exceptionally helpful, getting us the serial numbers of the appliances ahead of time so that we could satisfy the criteria for a rebate. He didn't bat an eyelash when we discovered at the last minute that the wrong DW was delivered and actually moved into our kitchen. The correct model was delivered within days.
Description of Work: We purchased new appliances (DW, range and refrigerator) as part of our kitchen remodel. Darryl at Vandergrift's helped us pick the models that we wanted, took our order and worked with our contractor to have the appliances delivered at the right time for the project.
