Description of Work: Installation of carpet on stairs went very well. Always top quality materials. We are a many-repeat customer over many years. All sorts of flooring have been installed. Heather John, our sales associate goes the extra mile to find what we are seeking.

Description of Work: Added all new vinyl planking throughout house. Remove all existing carpet. Removed all base boards, as requested by me, for future reno. Added carpet to main stairwell.

Description of Work: Carpet sales and installation we used Barb Lin. It was for carpet and vinyl flooring in the kitchen.

Description of Work: I visited Barb-Lin store in mid February and worked with Heather John. This is a review for the wood flooring which was installed on March 11-12th, 2014. Heather asked all the right questions to get an idea of what I wanted so she could narrow down the selection. I appreciated this because I don't care to look at everything that is available. That approach wastes time. she provided me with samples to take home and look at the wood as it would be in my home, not in the showroom. After I made my choice, Heather executed the ordering. I was notified when the wood arrived and asked to schedule delivery date for the wood and then schedule installation dates. I appreciated the fact that I was not given dates, but asked when I was available. The delivery schedule I requested was between 8:15 am-10:00 am. I was advised the installation would take a day and a half. I scheduled the installation dates.

Description of Work: Replaced two carpeted rooms with hardwood and replaced a large hall, master bedroom and two staircases with carpet.

Description of Work: The person who gave the estimate was very thorough in examining the kitchen in that I had two different floors to cover- plywood and cement. He recommended a complete removal of the old floor and plywood, securing the sub floor, installation of new plywood and the new vinyl floor. He even made sure the new floor would not be too high so my refrigerator would still fit under the cabinet above it. The installer did a fabulous job. Other floor bids told me to just cover the old floor with new vinyl. That wold not have solved the problem of where the two floors meet-there was a crack in my original floor. The cement where it met the plywood needed to be cleaned up and regraded to be flush with the plywood and also the floor would have been too high and my refrigerator would have been too high to fit under the cabinet above it.

Description of Work: We had our Teragren Bamboo flooring installed the week of April 20, 2009 at 141 Westbury Court in Doylestown. Prior to installation we discussed with the installation team at Barb-Lin about protecting the floor against moister (as we were concerned about gluing hardwood directly to a concrete subfloor/slab). We were advised that the moister levels in the concrete slab were not a concern. Barb-Lin is a well known and highly liked flooring company in the area so we trusted the recommendation that it was ok to glue our Teragren Synergy Bamboo flooring directly to the concrete subfloor. They used Bostik’s Best adhesive. Over time we noticed a slight change in the color of the flooring near the threshold to the living room. We mistook the color change as high traffic issues and didn’t worry. Time past and we then noticed that the floor was starting to cup. Our concerns increased and I started to read a bit about what to expect from this type of flooring. We realized that we may have a water issue around the end of July or early August. In early September we called Barb-Lin to have someone come out and take a look. John McCarty (Barb-Lin) concluded that we did have a water issue. Barb Lin would not take responsibility for not using a vapor barrier and would not assist in anyway to help us with replacement. We took all the proper steps to communicate with Barb Lin's owner and ended up getting the Bucks County Consumer Protection Agency involved. They still refused to assist. You can read about the case at the BCCPA. Do not do business with these people they don't stand behind their work and they are very expensive.

Description of Work: Installed carpet in our family room, stairs and upstairs hall on 2 occasions (see below).

Description of Work: Sales person was excellent. I ordered wall to wall carpet for most of house. Installer was paid to remove old carpet. Did this but said he was too rushed for me to sweep up residue under old padding and that was not his job. Installer was rough with furniture, ran throughout house to get done. Had 2 helpers.Was frequently on cell phone with personal calls, reeked of cigar smoke and frequently went out to truck to smoke. When installing living room he decided to rearrange the tack strip in one spot and when renailing it struck a pipe under the cement and ruptured a water pipe from heating system. Hot water sprayed all over the room. I called my husband at work to come home and turn off water. "Charlie "called his boss who came out and they decided it was our responsibility to have the pipe repaired which we did at our own expense. About a week later they returned. I was not home when job was completed. Found living room seam was very rippled and somewhat separated, old blue carpet still visible at all bedroom closet doorjams. Metal strips under doors had sharp nails not flat to surface. Also did not carpet stepdown to living room and did not put padding under builtin bookcases which left a noticeable ridge. I called company, they came out and said they would send someone out to repair the mistakes which they agreed were the result of a very poorly done job. This man worked all day to fix the mess. I went to the store to pay the balance that day and asked if they would help pay for the bill to replace the pipe. I was told NO but was given a gift card to a restaurant because they were sorry and hoped they had not been too much trouble.

Description of Work: Service was excellent start to finish. Sales (Bob) took his time with me and I took home more than 50 samples of vinyl tile to look at in the rooms in question. Dates for measuring were arranged and done without delay. The figures were worked up and appointment made for installation. The workers were punctual and the job was done with care over a two day period.
